I always felt that Louis CK was a bit dodgy. I can't be the only person who got a very weird vibe am I?

No-definitely not. I thing I was surprised about was how long it took. (Also, his big 'apology' never actually apologises. Not one mention of sorry).

He just had this way of being condescending-but it didn't feel like an act, like he was this jerk.

His comedy act about 'men being so dangerous to women' was just so ill informed, it felt like he was trying hard to hide something. As well as hiding in the open.

Yeah, always disliked his stuff. Could never understand his popularity. The underlying premise of his material you could always see coming a mile off and it was generally something very liberal leaning but which would always make him look perceptive for having noticed which ever particular failing he was shining a light on. He'd quite often throw himself into whichever demographic it was that he was sneering at, but given that he wasnthe the one pointing the failing, there was never anything genuinely self depreciating about it, but people always seemed to lap it up and because he was loved by liberals (given his 'feminist comedy') he got away with some material that many other comics most certainly would not have. Such as the following SNL monologue (from 5m30s):

That actually got quite a lot of criticism both at the time and in recent days after his secrets came out.

Like it was when his shield slipped, quite a lot. Round then more and more questions started to be asked, about when he was gonna get exposed.

Just to add, have no problem with the material per se, just the fact that it was aired on Saturday Night Live.

    Anyway, this is weird.......
Have a feeling I might know who this is too, but I'll say nothing.

I didn’t. He seemed a bit... awkward but I don’t really wonder at that.

One weird thing though was how abruptly his marriage ended. One minute he was talking glowingly about wifey in his stand up, the next he extolling the virtues of divorce, saying “No happy marriage ends”. Was she on to him?

Hmm, Interview with Rebel Wilson from 2014:

“Sacha is so outrageous,” said Wilson.

“Every single day he’s like, ‘Rebel, can you just go naked in this scene?’ And I’m like, ‘No!’

“Sacha and I have the same agent in America and I’m like, ‘Sacha, I’m going to call our agent Sharon and tell her how much you are harassing me.’

“Every day he’s like, ‘Just go naked, it will be funny. Remember in Borat when I did that naked scene? It was hilarious.’

“On the last day I thought I’d obviously won the argument and he got a body double to do the naked scene.

“Then in the last scene ... he was like, ‘Rebel can you just stick your finger up my butt?’ And I went, ‘What do you mean Sacha? That’s not in the script.’

“And he’s like, ‘Look, I’ll just pull down my pants, you just stick your finger up my butt, it’ll be a really funny bit.’”

Rebel Wilson politely turned down the request, but she did offer Cohen a compromise.

“You don’t wanna be a diva so I ... said I’ll slap you once on the butt and that’s it,” said Wilson.

Yeh. I’ve felt that. I feel there’s a certain self hated there. Maybe there is in most comedians.

Funny my twitter account where I follow mostly liberals (from my time from living in a very liberal part of the US) is full of accusations against a republican candidate in Alabama who was accused of underage sex. Very little on Louis.

Most of what we know down to Ronan Farrow. He has personal reasons for his campaign. Otherwise we would have had to listen to Hollywood preach about misogynism while raping or **** in front of the staff.

I’ve really just started watching Louis CK’s stand ups since fapgate (although I have seen him in comedy shows before as an actor) and I was hostile because of the revelations but have to admit he’s pretty good alright.

Amanda Brunker weighing in...and I'm sorry if I'm being a jerk, but she sold her 'image' as a party girl-and 'loose'...so...what's her problem?

I noticed that too, his wife and family were the basis of his material and then ur shifted to divorce and estranged parenting.... I just put it down to American marriage having a time limit

Seems it's George Takei's turn now. Always the first to pass judgement based on an accusation.

George was very taken with Joe Swash on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here

There was a lot of perverts on that year-Nicola McClean was talking about some other pervert who was on that too. Kept groping her and forcibly kissing her.

There were quite a few harassers on that show, over the years-I remember one guy, Lord 'Lech' he was nicknamed, would unhook the women's bikinis. He was also very gropey and 'hands on' on Alexis Best.

Weinstein wrote an article in 2009 defending Polansky in the indy which they deleted recently. :pac:

Genuine LOL at "He served his time" opening.

That's truly sickening. It's very insightful actually and acts as leakage into the kind of individual he is- "I will be organising the effort myself by emailing everybody I know to sign the petition". The same way he emailed everyone he knew and asked them to defend him when his dirty secrets were aired. Bully.

Sickening, vile and perverted. Forget the fact Pervanski raped a 13 year old girl in his home- won't somebody think of the blockbusters?

    “So-called crime.”

Whatever about the sentencing irregularities that’s a telling comment.

Notice the name dropping all over the shop there.

    "So called crime"......****ing hell.

The absolute neck of him making a statement like that in 2009. It's the kind of stuff that tells you what he thinks about his own predicament right now.....and there's no doubt in my mind that he sees himself as the victim.

Yes, it was all very abrupt. I remember reading about it before - I got the impression that she ended it.

What if you still like Louis CK's work? What if you don't really think what he did was enough to kill his entire career and ruin his life?

I still love Kevin Spacey's stuff and will watch it - got Baby Driver cued up for tonight and did American Beauty and LA Confidential at the weekend.

I don't agree with the airbrushing from history - pulling the Xmas showing of Ordeal by Innocent due to an unsubstantiated allegation is abhorrent.

Baby Driver is a great film.

Have any women been accused yet ? Or would that be too embarrassing for the men involved.
I think all the women who took up Harvey and the rest on their offers of sex for roles in films have to feel some degree of regret, it's all those women who sold their souls for a part in a movie that made Harvey and co continue with their sexual harassment of others.
Who is calling out all those women.?
