The first male rape in Hollyoaks also stands out for me, they could do more over their late night shows back then[/quote]

Never really watched Hollyoaks but I remember a male rape in The Bill

Brookside was way ahead of it's time any of the most controversial storylines I think of come from Brookside

Amazing that those storylines ran near concurrently on both shows. A golden period in soaps. Compulsive viewing

I was expecting it to be a lot better. I found that Ryan didn't portray the transgender community in a good way.

I am not fully sure when I heard it but the produce/script writer at the time planned that in 2011 when David(born Christmas Day 1990) and Rosie(Christmas Eve 1990) would 21 they'd get married!

Corrie: Deirdre's affair with Mike Baldwin for some reason stands out for me. I also liked the Tracy/ Shelley and Charlie storyline ending with his murder.

Eastenders: Michelle's pregnancy and the mystery culprit Den and of course Angie's "big fat lie" story. Sharon and Phil's affair. Trevor's little Mo domestic abuse story.
