Would it be blasphemy if they change the direction of the hoop? Eg vertical or have several hoops like Celtic ?

Can't see them having anything other than the traditional hoop the way it is now.

Who is due a new design next year? They seem to change so regularly these days.....

    Edit;
I checked the O'Neill's website, and it says there are new shirts coming soon for Antrim, Down, Kerry, Kilkenny and Tyrone. The Dublin one is still up, but reduced, so there'll be a new Dubs shirt too you'd imagine.

As I was looking through them, it struck me that an awful lot of counties had new shirts for 2017.

I can't believe that AM, DW, KY, KK and TE have had their jersies for 3 seasons already! Time flies.

Shocked that we're changing again. We changed mid season in 2016. So only 1.5 years out of this shirt if it were to be changed. Unless we're being changed to get back into the pre-Christmas/every 3 years cycle. Hmmm...

Down and Kilkenny have only had theirs for 2 seasons afaik

Dublin are the cash cow. The GAA would be mad not to whip it more often than other counties. Not that I agree with it, but it makes sense.

    3 seasons: 2015, 2016, 2017

    That's the standard.

Honestly they would be mad to do so. If you change so often no one will really care. They have the right cycle at the minute. Really hope we don't change.

And if we do I want navy sleeves. It's overdue.

Even if a small percentage of Dubs fans do care, that's still probably more than they'll shift for any other county.

The most recent Roscommon release, which was by far our most popular jersey of the last 15 or 20 years, was probably still outsold by less popular shirts in other counties, simply due to population.

BonnieSituation is correct about KK having their jersey for 3 seasons

I believe Cork are changing the sponsor too so they'll be due a new jersey.

As an aside, not intercounty, but loving Dundalk IT's throwback jersey. O'Neills should do the same as a novelty for the counties as a website exclusive or something

That Dundalk IT jersey is beautiful.

I would imagine Dublin, Waterford, Kilkenny and Kerry will change anyway. If it is gone to a 2 year cycle then Clare and Galway possibly also.

Tyrone would be due a change too

That Dundalk jersey is a beaut.

    Here's an article about it.

It's celebrating 30 years since their first season at Sigerson.

Any more info on this Duffle? Wasn't aware of a new sponsor on board

Due to be launched this Friday, Paul Galvin has had some input into it.

Chill are out is the word on the street. Their 3 year contract they extended in 2015 expires this year as well. The gear being on discount on O'Neill's website would compound this

Paul Galvin helped design the new jersey so it'll probably be horrendous. Or come with a Peaky Blinders style green and gold flat cap.

Kilkenny have had theirs since the beginning of 2015. Down changed sponsor around 2016 alright

Kerry one will probably be the same design as the new tipp one from last year just with the kerry colours

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,088 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

I would seriously doubt that being the case if there was some "input" from elsewhere.

That Tipp one is a standard i-create template now. I would say there will be a retro bang of the new one.

Kerry should go black to a white collar.

Interesting if Chill step as sponsors in Cork, would be a time for a lot of exposure with the hurlers getting more high profile and the opening of the stadium.
Shouldn't be too difficult to find a replacement

One more year for Kim Jong Frank. You'd imagine though Cork would be able to pull a big sponsor with its population and fanbase irregardless of recent success.

Well if ye remember last time they missed the Christmas market for the jerseys because they couldn't finalise a sponsor deal. They ended up with blank jerseys for the winter leagues and a charity for most of the national league

True. Strange one. Cork have fierce support. Id imagine that it's the gobdaws on the county board that are a stumbling block with any sponsorship deals

Delighted with that. Gorgeous jersey. Really simple. Didn't fall into the trap of trying to do too much like some modern jerseys. Only thing I dont like is the new O'Neills logo.

Ya the logo looks strange but I suppose we have been looking at the same logo for a long time now. Once it appears on more kits we will get used to it. Savage kit. Might go on the Xmas list

It's Churchill by the way. Tom Barry must be revolving at a rapid rate :)
