Is that meant to be a joke? TXFM was far superior to Nova - nothing in common!

the new stuff played on TXFM wasn't the same though, at least it was music! the Nova new stuff is just useless and not music.

Only thanked that for the "Brown Envelope" :D

They also have to be getting one from the management of U2 Inc (All Rights Reserved)

Me neither. I accidentally caught about two minutes of morning glory yesterday. Conor rambling on about some woman he was voyeuristically watching from his apartment or something. She was in her own apartment shouting and waving her arms about angrily. He dragged out the "punch line" and stated that she was shouting at herself in her mirror.

Then the gasps come out of Marty.

I don't think that's a bit funny at all but maybe I'm missing something. It's not nova I'm missing anyway!

its gone to ****e lately. trying to be modern and 'relevant' and has lost touch with what made it a great station. we've enough of those stations. whoever is calling the shots in there at the top has to go! sounds like spin at times with some of the presenters on it

I only ever listen to Morning Glory now, and occasionally John Clarke when I have the time. I've mostly gone over to 4FM because it suits me better.

Well if there are major changes on the way, then I think Ruth might get the breakfast show, and maybe swap with Conor Irwin with him getting the weekend afternoon slot? Makes more sense to me.

I'd take Conor any day over Ruth or Marty.

Maybe the changes are because they might have heard that they got the national licence!

    What national licence?
I reckon the changes will be that Max Headroom will be on Nova drive time.

They haven't, and unless they increase their share, they won't.

Maybe that's why they are using "wee Daniel" in the ads - might actually be going to be broadcasting to Donegal!!!! If so, my life is complete lol

I think SPIN 1038 are more deserving of a national licence.

They're certainly picking up steam in their race towards the centre of the rock - pop spectrum, and possibly beyond. This morning they played a track by Alice Merton. I've nothing against her, but she is a pop/dance artist. I know this point is old hat at this stage, but if you purport to be a rock station, surely that's what the listeners who tune in should expect to hear?

Said numerous times, they've long since been a rock station....expect to hear even more pop and r&b ...they dont have an identity any more....seems to me like theyre trying to be 6music'ish..but done badly..

It's such a shame. They started out as a real alternative to the usual suspects on Irish radio. Nowadays, you'd hardly know if you were listening to Nova or Today FM. You raised an interesting point there, Max, they certainly are in the depths of an identity crisis. Right now, they are a rock station in name only.

I think a full-on classic rock FM ststion in Ireland is not financially feasible under the current business model. Sad but true.

I think you're right, Mikey. It'll be interesting to see what transformations are afoot in relation to that Daniel O'Donnell ad that's currently being run on the station. At least they had the decency to inform us that we may not like what Nova are up to next, I suppose.
