"Death whore" is a very unique insult!

I can't say I know what it means but it sounds good, although I am wondering if maybe autocorrect had a hand in it!

So there I am lying in my bed reading an aul book, when suddenly I find myself wondering "Why the f*ck do I have that Craig David song in my head?".

Maybe I missed something, Roody Doyle was on to plug his book, so they just asked him about being a Chelsea fan while he was in, and then that was the bulk of the conversation. Is that about right?

And his book is about...the Christian Brothers? Or what?

Once or twice they did try to ask him more about his book but he seemed to go off on tangents.

It felt to me as I listened like someone had collected on a favour the lads owed them.

Roddy Doyle talked some ****. You wouldnt hear a Dublin voice on the radio or television...

Miriam O'Callaghan, Dobbo, des cahill, Marion Finucane, Pat Kenny, Cathal Mac Coille, Gerry Ryan.

Pure ****e talk. And the GAA propoganda thing, 4.5 million people live in Ireland. Its a lot easier for a country like the UK with 60 million and millions more premiership tourists coming in to have high attendances.

    Gob****e.

a lot of his opinions were utter bullsh!t

He seemed to live in some makey uppey world

Lads he was talking about when Joe Duffy first started like 40 years ago.

Jaysus the interview didn't do much for me, by surprised at the vitriol it is evoking here.

It didn't do much for me either. And vitriol is a strong word.

He clearly meant working class Dublin accent. I don't think Dobson or Kenny would fit that category.

Can you give an example of the vitriol you're talking about?

Maybe vitriol isn't the word but death whore comes to mind.....Whatever adjective you would use for that.

We'll go for another noun, apt.

Ok well a death whore is a noun, so a word describing that noun would be an adjective wouldn't it.

Fair enough more power to you. The dislike was there already and the pod brought it out. As I said, I was surprised the pod evoked such a reaction but if it was there before that explains it I guess.

For those who like X5SADS today's interview with Andrew Trimble would have been good I'm sure. For the rest of us it was not so good. I made it up to the religion discussion before bailing out.

Did it go heavy on religion, I thought it might and have been listening to other pods before giving this a go!
    Really not into religious talk!

I listened to the same point. I'm not a rugby fan so I wasn't that interested to begin with but it was a pretty boring interview. There was about 20 minutes left in the pod when I turned it off.

I found it interesting. He (Trimble) said that he can't remember the last time that he enjoyed a game of Rugby. These interviews really would make you worry about professional sportspeople, they all seem to be not enjoying their job and are unprepared for what comes next.

I look forward to the player's chair, they do give a good insight. It'd be interesting for Sadlier to talk to other non-soccerball players going forward

It was a thoroughly uninteresting interview.

I'd rather have heard about Richie's time coaching young lads in St. Pats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,863 ✭✭✭Raoul

Yeah, I didn't think it was a fantastic interview. Not Richie's fault. I think Trimble is just purposely boring and unwilling to share much. Which is what the first part of the interview is about. I don't believe the not enjoying a rugby game bit. I was pretty sure he said in the previous ten or 15 min where he did enjoy it.

A rugby player? Boring? Never would have seen that coming

I'll be avoiding this one anyway. Another poor week's output in my book. Don't have a cummute anymore so if the pod continues in this vein I'll be unsubbing - something I never thought I'd say.

I bailed on it. Badly boring.

Brian Kerr was the peak of it for me. I didn't even find the McCarthy one that interesting.

They shouldn't have bothered doing it the 3rd time, you could they were bored asking and answering the same questions for the 3rd time

The Brian Kerr one was great. I enjoyed the Damien Duff one too.

The thing about Mick was that, I heard the exact same interview on OTB. Same jokes and exact same anecdotes.

I just think they need to get more interesting guests on. Graham Hunter has had some great guests on and has had some great podcasts. Unfortunately, you have to listen to Graham Hunter though. It does show that you can make these interviews really interesting if you pick the right guest.

Forgot about Duffer. Yeah that was very good.

An extremely cringey group of lads.
