Are you really defending Texas judging here Walsh? Really?

    .

    What are you on about?

    I am not defending anything.....

    Three non Texan judges....Just saying.

Diaz is Texan. Big deal. In a close fight I have no issue with the home fighter getting the shake...

Paulie came across as a sore losing pr1ck. End of. And the crowd knew it.

The hometown crowd thought he was a pr1ck for saying that? No way!

You know exactly what i'm talking about, fights in Texas are notoriously the worst in the whole of boxing and deserved to be called out because it had been going on years.

You still have the Mayweather Pacquiao fight a draw yeah? :D

Whatever about historical bouts and calls in Texas.....the fight Paulie lost was no robbery.

    Pac-Floyd......

Due to the abysmal showing from bigger man, Floyd, a draw at best he gets.

He fought Manny like a fooking windbag!

Dont worry i knew that you were a bait man a long time ago, like calling May Pac a draw! (at best for Mayweather!). I'm not trolling though, just having a coffee break and killing time on the Boxing forum.

Judge Gale van Hoy who put in the lopsided card is Texan and the ref Laurance Cole is the son of Dick Cole the Texas State Commissioner. As I've just read...''it's all forgotten until the next time it happens''..Pwauli still ended up being just an 'opponent' for Amir Khan.

You cant bet on your opponent apparently but can bet on any variation of yourself to win.

    Strange really.

    Conor on points
As i said earlier he has apparently bet 5 million on himself. Leaked from a vegas sportsbook.

The way Floyd has been acting makes me think its a bigger mismatch than even i thought .

I believe we'll have a really exciting fight. Two granite chins are involved here. If nothing else you will be impressed with Conor's chin, I feel fairly confident on that front.

Floyd is not a huge puncher, but Conor will never have experienced this level of his speed and timing. He will eat body shots and the speed of the punches, which he won't see coming, to his head will hurt him. Think of what happened to Hatton.

When Hatton tried to take it to Floyd he got got battered in a one sided fight, and like i said it wasn't because Floyd had great power. Bear in mind Hattton was a fairly good boxer too.

I think this won't be an exciting fight at all- it will be one guy outclassing another for however how long it lasts.

Didn't do Joe Calzaghe any harm, or Carl Froch!

In fairness Joe had to adapt that style due to repeatedly breaking bones in his hands. Like you say he was still a class operator. He would have beaten Carl easily if they fought.

    Not easily. No way.

Froch is a a big lump who can punch and who has reach and size and who was always competitive

I used to think Joe's speed would see him win comfortable. I'd make Joe a slight favorite based off feet and hand speed, but Froch could tough it out and has heavy hands.

Joe had a lot of issues with the hands, but he always had that kind of slappy delivery, even during his ABA reign.

I can't recall that he ever claimed hand injuries to a degree during his late amateur career.

He's changing the face of boxing

I reckon that, unfortunately for McGregor, there more chance of boxing changing his face.

Hopefully nothing more serious than two black eyes and a bit of bruising

(I'd be delighted if he pulled off the upset with some freak one-in-a-million action. It'd be mental. But it's not going to happen......maybe one of the ring girls might stumble in her heels and take MW out with a heavy round card sign across the head when he's sitting in the stool between rounds? It's probably as likely)

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought Enzo said in an interview he had to adapt that slappy style to protect his hands. Froch was a tough boxer, who excelled despite his limited talent. Joe was the superior boxer though.
Joe could take a punch too. When he was knocked down he came back even stronger. Joe would simply be too quick and elusive for Carl. It would be a wide points decision for Joe, I feel.

Is there anyone in this thread who identifies primarily as a boxing fan, and isn't necessarily an MMA fan, who wants McGregor to win? Due to the nature of Floyd being such a despicable pr*ck? It would be quite funny to see karma come and bite him in the arse and make a mockery of his career. However unlikely it may be.

I prefer boxing to MMA. Still I would love Conor to win this, but as I've said I just can't see it happening.
Conor, behind all the self promotion antics, seems like a much more decent human being than Floyd. I also admire that he had the courage of his convictions to get to where he is. It would have been so easy to listen to the naysayers telling him to get a real job when he started out. Good luck to him. I would love if he somehow proved all us doubters wrong on Sunday morning, but it's about as likely as me getting to go on a date with Jessica Alba.

I never get this , its a boxing match and he won easy,
Its like watching Italy against Brazil in a world cup and being upset because Italy win by defending well, Its a sport and like all sports you do what you can within the rule set to win, Flyod is a master at it ,its a thing of beauty to watch ,
Not his fault Manny couldn't figure out a way to win  ,

Been over this many times. No issue with defending, but for me you don't win by just defending. Like Italy don't win by just defending. Gotta' score as well, and for me Manny was scoring every bit as much, despite silly compu box numbers.

In a nutshell I thought Floyd was very poor on offence. Really poor, and I had hoped that he would go out and stamp his superiority on Manny. He didn't. Didn't come close.

The fight was a stinker, and it was Floyd getting all the praise, most of it for simply avoiding getting cleanly hit. Manny avoided getting cleanly hit just as much, but not a word of praise.

Look at this below. I could easily flip that to Floyd. Did he find a way to win?

"Not his fault Manny couldn't figure out a way to win."

My gripe I suppose is more to do with the ridiculous OTT praise for one man and nothing for the other. Falling over themselves to find a way to praise Floyd, and 99 percent of it coming form "he's not getting hit clean." Pure desperation.

Flyod clearly won and done so without even really having to up it a notch  ,I think that's why he got  praise

Well, seeing as the praise was right from the start till the end, for one man only.....There was no even waiting until the end.....

    Sh1t fight......
