IT are likely sending Ken to Vegas.

How I wish that there were more
Than the twenty-four hours in the day
'Cause even if there were forty more
    I wouldn't sleep a minute away
Oh, there's black jack and poker and the roulette wheel
A fortune won and lost on every deal
All you need's a strong heart and a nerve of steel
Viva Las Vegas, Viva Las Vegas

I know the lyrics off by heart at this stage because of the jingle that they made :D
I'm looking forward to Ken in Vegas!

I agree with you here, there is huge public interest.

    From who? Joe.ie?

Only place I've ever heard it mentioned is second captains.

Pretty much all my mates have talked about it. I'm no mma or boxing fan, but this is a massive event, make no mistake.

Ah ok, I didn't know all your mates were talking about it.

    :D:D.
What do you want him to say?

Pretty much everyone I know is aware of it that ranges from kids to adults both male and female. The majority of my male mates which are around the ages of 27-32 are talking about it and a good lot of them will get up or stay up all night to watch the fight. Their professions range from researchers to butchers.

Seriously man - I'm not trying to be rude and if you haven't heard people talking about then you mustn't have heard people talking about - but the talk and hype about this fight is everywhere.

"My mates don't talk about it therfore its of no importance."

Someone else mentions their mates talking about it and you mock them.

We all forgot only your mates matter. Such a great bunch of diverse people after all.

I have zero interest in MMA and a passing interest in Boxing & I am only too aware of this match - it's being talked about everywhere

Seriously lads, my 70 year old ma was talking about it at the weekend. It's part of the zeitgeist.

Anyone on here claiming not have heard anyone talk about MMA is either lying, hearing impaired or doesn't leave their house.

And claiming to have no interest in MMA is no reason not to have heard speak it. My experience is that people who talk the most and loudest about MMA are those who claim it's not a sport.

What rock are you living under? Even if you have no mates interested in MMA or boxing, even if you have no mates talking about this fight, even if you have no mates! You still can't escape the global media reporting on this fight.

Like it or not, it's arguably the biggest sporting/entertainment event of the year.

To go back to your original point as to why Ken Early and Second Captains are interested in the event. Ken has covered McGregor fights before this circus came along, so of course SC would be covering McGregor's biggest fight to date. That point aside, as a light hearted, informative podcast, this bout is their bread and butter, would you honestly expect them to ignore it?

I find it very hard to believe that you've never heard of the fight outside of the podcast.

    Really? That's ridiculous.

He's such a great font of knowledge and you never get the sense that he's showing off. He does the job of any great analyst: he makes you want to know more about what it is that they're talking about. I thought he had some pretty damning, but informed, things things to say about McGregor's chances. Was that interview today also one of the very few times Ken would have talked to Andy ?

He made a great case for putting 10k on Mayweather.

All I need now is 10k

    ???

The only places you've seen discuss the McGregor vs Mayweather fight is on Joe.ie and second captains? What planet do you live on?

I know next to nothing about boxing but would gladly listen to him for hours. He combines experience with humility and comes across as very honest and likeable.

My folks know about the fight, it's on the screen for Ireland AM as sports news every day this week. It's everywhere.

My 1 year old spoke her first words this week, they were 'who do you think will win the Mayweather McGregor fight, da'

It's going to be the biggest purse in fighting history! It's like saying you haven't heard about the new tv show, "game of thrones" cos your mates haven't mentioned it. It's massive.

If you care to read carefully you'll note I quite clearly stated I could be wrong, and wasn't basing the mood of the nation on my social circle.

Seems to me a lot of MMA warriors moonlight with their keyboards.

I'll ask the 1 year old if the internet is where she heard about it.

While in Eastern Europe recently, I witnessed a flight break out in the street between two men - one Caucasian and one African American.

The Caucasian guy knocked the African American man to the floor and the crowd that had gathered put the winner on their shoulders and began chanting "McGregor, McGregor!" in their broken English.

The whole world knows about the fight.
