€30 would you believe for the one in the shop I was in....

I'll keep looking, just worried as I'm a clumsy fool...

There is a two week return policy on accessories, maybe you could temporarily buy one from Vodafone and return it when you get your eBay one?

I would bet that return policy is for unopened items... (presuming there is some sort of plastic covering the case when you buy)

I'll have to invest in a large roll of bubble wrap haha.

Few on eBay but block camera and fingerprint thingy.

Very happy with phone, only complaint is getting used to power button on the opposite side to last phone... 1st world problems

I got a nice transparent one on crapbay, took seller two weeks to send it from Spain so I won't be recommending him. The case itself is fine though, came with tempered glass.

Don't fork out the silly money in the Vodafone store for the cases they are selling for it. I've looked at them and there 'ok' at best. Deffo not worth paying €20 upwards for unless your desperate for something today.

I got the same, transparent case with tempered glass. Perfect fit with holes for camera and fingerprint thingy. It came from Spain too. It was cheap as chips and arrived 5 days after the order was placed. :)

€3.96 with free delivery for mine, for the case and tempered glass! :D..... Beats €20 for the Vodafone transparent case and €15 on top of that for their tempered glass. Jaysus..... What a saving I made!

go and get the vodafone one, guaranteed it's damaged after a week and you can just get your money back - they are a pile of shíte, but will do you until the slow boat from china arrives.

Sure, he was slow sending mine and charges in sterling for some reason despite being in Spain so I don't really recommend him but at that price you can't complain. It's the price of a cappuccino.

Any feedback from those who bought?

Is the hotspot working OK, or does it suffer from the problem that the last Android update caused on the Smart Ultra 6?

Any difficulties with apps using the memory card?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 848 ✭✭✭Falcon L

    No problems with the hotspot.
No issues with apps using card either.

Both my missus and I are very happy with them. :)

Find battery very good compared to SU6. Sometimes struggle not having back button on screen which is prob just me. Notice it doesnt have cast screen feature to mirror onto TV.

Is there no back button on the front of the phone?

Is it possible to cast from Netflix or other apps to a Google Chromecast?

There are 3 soft buttons at the bottom of the display. In some apps they 'hide' like the bar on the bottom of the windows screen. They just need to be swiped up to use.

Cast is available. It's the last item in the settings/display menu.

Thanks - so no hard buttons at all on the front?

No capacitor hardware buttons, just on screen software navigation buttons.

Anyone else have this new file manager on their lock screen? Starting to get on my nerves, haven't looked into disabling it yet.

Along the bottom of the lock screen? If so, you can change what goes on there.

It appears here when its locked and then its there among your notifications when unlocked.

I haven't tried using it yet but it may be useful. Its just getting on my nerves because I keep mistaking it for a notification.

Unlock your phone and long press on the notification for it in the pulldown. It will tell you which app it's coming from.

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and getting one during the week. it was this or the V20.
Any users think it's not worth it? I'm coming from a SU6.
    thanks

I had one and sold it a few weeks afterwards....I bought the Nokia 6 instead because I wanted fast android updates. I'm glad I did to be honest.

Got a software update on mine yesterday.Didnt notice anything different with the phone.
One odd thing that I've had with it is the fact that when I answer a call I get a missed call notification when I hang up.Odd, although the VF network hasn't been right in my area since Storm Ophelia, maybe that's the reason.

Euro 50 off now, if you switch to Vodafone, bringing it down to 149 and also a voucher for Irish Rugby top

Thanks - any more feedback from those who did buy?

How's the camera? Have you managed to synch an iTunes library to the SD card using iSyncr or similar app?

Have mine about a month now, great phone.I went from an Ultra 6 to it. Skipped the Ultra 7 as reviews weren't positive and it didn't seem much of an upgrade. The V8 can handle much larger capacity sd cards too.
