In the same boat myself, hoping it means we'll be a shoe in for a start in November.

I've completed no online application on publicjobs.ie and am waiting for a recruitment campaign to arise. Is it just a matter of sitting and waiting or is there anything i should do/have in preparation for this? Any advice is greatly appreciated

nothing you can do except wait really. maybe talk to your local super to see what you're getting yourself in for and maybe get pointers on the aptitude tests.

    Practice the aptitudes
    Get fit
Ensure you meet the requirements e.g. Education
Maybe get your documents in order leaving cert etc
    Save money
Talk to any local gardai for an insight into the job

    :)

Just double checking about the physical, unlike the medical you don't have to confirm your attendance?

You do also confirm your attendance for physical, same as for medical

No I don't see anything about confirming just give me a date and time and to report to reception for 9am bring ID etc. I got that 3 days ago and 2 days ago got another saying to reconfirm date that it's September 2nd not August 19th but no idea why I got that. I got attachments but nothing reads to confirm. I'll email now just in case. Does anyone know the HRM number and I'll call them in the morn to clarify everything?

Looking for opinions folks. Got pct date for early sept but I'm out of the country for it.
If I cancel and get and new date will I delay my process.??
Was hoping to have a chance for November intake. I'd be willing to cancel holiday if I thought it would delay things.
    I've all done except pct.

Does anyone know do you have to have your pct test done before you can contact hrm about how your vetting is getting on ?

I don't know but when I was at an interview with an inspector, he told me to ring hr about my vetting, a month after doing physical.

Has anyone else been waiting a few months for their application to be signed off on?

Yep, I phoned again today and still waiting to be signed off. I've been phoning every couple of weeks or so and no change so I decided I'm just going to wait until around when the offers for November are coming out before I check again.

Somebody mentioned before on this that they have a feeling just before the offers are due to come out, senior management sign off in bulk files that have vetting completed. I don't think hrm will tell anyone anything different, I've been waiting about 6 weeks for sign off so I'd imagine anyone who was told it's gone to senior managment for final review or it's gone for sign off won't be told anything else until you get the email with your offer.
Hopefully it's only another 4 weeks until they start offering out places! I can't bare the wait anymore haha !

Waiting since May,stopped ringing a few weeks ago. Better off not knowing at least it'll be a nice surprise if my vetting is signed off in time and I get an offer for November :P

Stupid predictive txt. Not sure what HR mean when they say they are looking for some small clarification from the locals on my vetting before it's good for sign off
