When did you find out it was signed off.

How does OOM work? Do they clear earlier campaigns first or do we all get OOM in a big list? I'm from the Sept campaign with a low OOM so will someone from January with a higher OOM be given preference?

    Older campaigns are given preference

Heard from a friend that at a stage 2 the lady from HRM stated that they are working on 1000 applicant vetting forms at the moment from across the various campaigns,

Called HRM today, got a nice lad on the phone, very helpful. My first call since May, when I was called practically every second day to see if my vetting had been completed.

    Long time waiting.

Anyone have any idea if you can come home an extra day if you have children? Heard from a source that Trainee's with children do not have to check in on Sunday eve, but Monday morning? Can you go home for one night during the week?

Speak to the welfare officer when you start in Templemore asap. As far as I know it all depends on your circumstances. I have kids also and I have been told what I said to you. I have heard of a friend of mine that has kids who went through Templemore as well that the Wednesday you get to go home after college and check in before your day starts again on Thursday morning. The day starts at 8:30am I believe.

Perfect thanks, was told similar by a Trainee. Have a 5 month old, so as difficult as it will be away from her, an extra day would be great! Will take advantage of a full nights sleep down in the college :)

Unfortunately you are not eligible for FIS as garda trainees are not classed as employees until attested, they are classed as students.

Can't see why not, last time I got one it was all very relaxed about colleges.. Mind you didn't use it all that much.

Haha, I would imagine the same. Argos I think have keys fairly cheap last time I checked or give Office 365 a try.

Yes absolutely, have two young kids myself under two years old so let's just say we will enjoy having the night feeds off :)

If you have a student number and email you can get it for free, at least that's how I have it on my laptop, also I seen that in an older forum they said they were told to get Microsoft compatible laptops wonder how strict they are on that because if it's for microsoft Office surely Open Office would suffice?

Hiya, in case it helps put your mind at rest I was given dates for the fitness which I had to change twice once for sickness and once for holiday. Both times they were accommodating and I just had to wait for a new date which eventually arrived and is now over with thank god. In my view once you pass the interview they become a bit more flexible and accommodating on dates etc, once you have a reasonable explanation. Best of luck with it anyway! I'm now just waiting for an offer and hoping I don't get an 'unsuitable' letter. From the Dec 2015 campaign so really keeping my fingers crossed for November but I know it's not a guarantee!

Did anyone contact HR this week to see if their file was signed off?
Vetting complete and waiting for file to be signed off. Don't want to be ringing them every week annoying them.

It's been a wile since I rang but I'm genuinely confident that the batch will be signed off in time for the offers.

I think that too, not sure if the entire batch will get an offer tho. I'm an early 500 OOM and not sure if it's good enough for November.

I rang today and was told my vetting was complete and my file was sent off to be signed.

I think they sign off the files in batches just before the intake offers go out.

Cheers Cathy! I actually ended up ringing the Garda college itself and got my date rescheduled to sept 2nd. I'm from sept 2016 and hoping I get November. Patience is a virtue! Hope everything works out for you :)
