It'll be a huge conundrum for mayo no doubt about it. Put simply donaghy has absolutely destroyed mayo over the years

Relax, Caff will be well rested for him :)

Roscommon much the fitter alright ;)

Don't forget the guff about beating the same players at underage!

    Has donaghy been banned yet?

    That was some hammering.

Don't think any of the quarter finals say much about the chances of the last four. They are miles ahead of everyone else.

Tyrone's Ulster win must be the easiest of all time? Average winning margins of 10, and that's increased to 12 now, after hammering another Ulster side.

Dublin's average in Leinster was 17; now 15.5 after beating Monaghan.

Kerry's Munster average was 8.8; and 8 overall.

Mayo's Connacht average was 9; now just over 10.

Probably won't make any difference when the teams meet, but if I was a Kerry supporter, I'd be slightly concerned about their lack of firepower relative to the other three. But we won't know for certain until two weeks. Surprised to see them priced up at 1/2 mind you,

Some liberal use of stats there for Mayo? Not including the defeat to Galway or not factoring for two drawn qualifiers or a QF replay?

and mayo still had some issues up front - with some poor shot selection and at times just not being sharp enough with the final pass.

Kerry certainly won't be worried relative to Mayo anyway. I'm well aware that they have just hammered Roscomon but I wouldn't be too confident in that forward line. They win a lot of ball well but when it comes to tighter defences they are really going to struggle.

    Apologies. Only included their wins!

    Average overall is 7.

Kerrys lack of firepower?? You mean a Kerry forward line that has put 20 points past Dublin the last two times they played in Croke Park? And has exceeded twenty points in every Championship game so far this year?

In addition, they have a bench full of forwards like BJ Keane, Darren O Sullivan and Stephen O'Brien (presuming he doesn't start) who are nearly always good for 3/4 points off the bench.

I honestly think this year will be the beginning of a Kerry/Dublin duopoly for the foreseeable. The way the super 8 system works, they are likely to meet in the final nearly every year. Mayo battered a naive Roscommon today but there's significant evidence that the well may be drying up and that squad has a ridiculous amount of demons that need exorcising if they're going to walk up the steps of the Hogan Stand.

Undoubtedly all the publicity leading up to the semi will be around Donaghy and how mayo will deal with him but the fact of the matter is that Kerry have a whole forward line of lethal forwards who will keep the scoreboard ticking over.

If you end up with an average win margin of 7 points after a loss and three draws in seven games you have to question your methods and/or usefulness of your calculation.

No sign of tickets available either on ticketmaster or tickets.ie, they had been on sale for weeks before this on both sites, any idea when they will be going on sale again?

There is absolutely no way a Kerryman would spill the beans like Grigory did. The KCB is more powerful than their Russian counterparts, the KGB.

    Roscommon were no good anyway
All the other beaten quarter finalists were far superior no matter what division they were in
Am I doing this right ?

armagh were the worst team in the last 8 , in terms of performance , replays always throw up these type of scores though , it acts as a kick up the back side for the more fancied team

Roscommon went into first game without having played a game with extra time the week before

You would probably get a better reflection if you counted Derry and Cork as 0 point wins.

Imagine what Dublin, Kerry and Tyrone's score differences would be like if they got an extra half an hour against Cork and Derry, or two games to run up scores against Roscommon.

You don't have to be Pythagoras to see that taking +9, -1, +0, +7, +0, +0 (their record on a level footing with the other teams you calculated an average for) and coming up with +7 is taking the piss.
