Despite the appalling customer service last week, I thought I'd try Tequila Jack's for brunch again.

I tweeted them yesterday morning asking what time they served this menu until on Sundays.

    I got no reply.

Seriously, if you have a business twitter account, then check in on it occasionally.

    They really seem clueless.
    Still haven't eaten there.

Was thinking of going to Feed Your Senses, what's it like? Anyone been there lately.

I really like that place. It's very homely, run by a nice couple. Feels like you're in their kitchen. :D

Food is good, it suffers from the same thing as every other tapas place in the city.... tiny tables, lots of plates.

But yeah, go check it out, I'd recommend.

Some places use twitter as outgoing communication only. They are there a wet week, and don't have a website set up either. Cut them some slack on the IT setup perhaps? Maybe they are dealing with supply chain, or training new staff, or working on the paperwork involved in setting up any business in this beaurocratic paradise, or possibly cooking and serving food, instead of assigning staff to monitoring tweets. I agree, don't have one if you're not going to use it, but they are newbs. Rage not required.

    Here's a phone number.

A lovely place, Gallo & Galetti in Wilton is another I'd recommend. I find Rossini to be hit and miss. While not exclusively Italian , Nosta do excellent Mediterranean food.

If you're down Douglas area Marcello's is a good Italian ...reasonably priced too.

I used to love that place until they started packing in more and more tables in. I was there three times and they had tables blocking the fire exit. It stopped me going there. I admit it is a few years now. Is it still as packed now?

been there twice and won't be going back..

1st time - my dish was wrong and when sent back took almost 30 mins to come out - my OH had eaten their meal..

2nd time - just remember it been a dismal experience.. food bland and staff seemed very down.. poor morale - not atmosphere..

la dolce is about the best of them in town..

It is very good. I haven't eaten there but have heard very good things about it.

I was in last week, and the quality is still there. I didn't like the change in menu as some of my favourites were gone, in a reduced menu, but they do a great pepper sirloin, with proper pepper sauce.

Do go to Gallo ! Fortunately for us, it's our local restaurant, and it's great to have such great food on our doorstep. It's co-owned by Brendan Cashman, who was the Chef at Augustines in the Clarion Hotel.

Italee in the city, but they don't open at night anymore. Only if you're around for lunch.

Gallo and galletti for me as well is the best. Odd located by a petrol station in wilton, but the food is just so good.

I can now confirm that they open @12 on a Sunday and serve "breakfast" until 3.

    I got a reply!

    More bad press for Rachels
The statutory body responsible for food consumer protection has confirmed it is investigating an allegation that a Cork restaurant may have misinformed customers over the source of products on its menu.

Wouldn't be the first place to not be upfront on provenance. Mrs. Twomey of Clonakilty Black Pudding would have the whole market to herself if one was to believe most breakfast menus.
BTW is has nothing to do with FSAI.

I found 12 Tables very noisy when I went for lunch. Might try Golden Elephant. Thanks Pwurple!

    Hi Guys,
Can anyone recommend a good pub around the bus station area i.e Plunkett St.? I'd prefer one that doesn't serve food.
    Thanks
