Would appreciate a referral link too. Time to move from OP2!!

Guys, Thanks for the codes but car died so money going to repair that instead. If ye want to pass on the codes elsewhere feel free. It will be another month or so before I will be in a position to buy the OP5.

Posted first and then went back to read thread so didn't realise that the codes were reusable so I'll hang on to Pandabat's one as he was first to PM me. Thanks a million.

Whatever they do, it doesn't have as good a sensor as some other flagships, so I wouldn't expect miracles.

Still find if very strange that they supposedly worked closely with DxOMark and they still don't have a score on there. HTC did similar, and announced the highest score ever when they launched the U11.
The foreground detail, while a little noisy, is not bad but the background processing is not so good at all. Look at the difference in the leaves on the trees further back between the raw and the camera-processed image. The sensor is obviously capable of picking up the detail so there just needs to be some better approaches taken in terms of image processing and compression. Don't expect it to be the *best* camera on a phone out there given the price but it's just not the best that it can be at the moment. I'm sure that we'll have a few more software updates in the coming days and weeks though.

If anyone's debating whether to pay the extra €10 for faster delivery, just pay it. Looking at how quickly other people have received their phones makes me regret not paying it.

Ordered mine on Tuesday morning and it's gone from Poland to Germany to Belgium... and there it sits.

Anyone who wants €20 off accessories can use the link below. It can be used more than once fyi.

Cheers for the code, just ordered.

Go for the 128GB for extra 60e - better of in the long run. I say most phones next year will move up to 8GB ram so if your planning to keep it for more than a year better to go for a higher spec one so that yours in not that much behind in specs. Its always handy to have the extra storage too.

Also use think link to buy:

    https://oneplus.net/ie/invite#VBH87N7QJZB3KA7

This is meant to give you 20 off accessories when bought with phone but the silicone case advertised at 21.99 becomes free when added to cart with phone and voucher applied.

Obviously you can get another accessory and get 20 off that.

Why would phones go to 8GB of RAM?

That is just pointless. Hopefully we start getting better battery/cameras.

Word of warning to anyone considering buying the OP5. I've been experiencing the same "jelly" scrolling effect that is common with the phone. It's not as obvious as some of the videos online, but it's definitely there, and extremely noticeable compared to the scrolling of my HTC 10. It disappears completely when the phone is turned 180 degrees

It seems a lot of people don't notice it, but it's a widespread problem caused by OP mounting the screen upside down.

Coming from a HTC 10, I love the battery life and performance of the OP5, however I can't put up with the jelly scrolling, and will be returning it within the 15 days if it's not fixed.

Anyone that has the OP5 and doesn't notice it, download "Set Orientation", set it to Automatic (full), flip the phone upside down, and you'll notice how much faster the scrolling is.

It's been confirmed by OnePlus that this is present, and it looks unlikely that there'll be a fix. First and probably last experience for me with OnePlus.

    Not happening on my phone..

    Not happening on my phone..

It's there on mine, but not near what some videos are portraying. It seems to be pretty much confirmed that it's there on every device, since mounting the panel upside down seems to change the direction the screen refreshes.

Going by the OnePlus community forums, it's the kind of thing that a lot of people don't notice. If you can't see it it's a great phone. But once you notice it it's the kind of thing you can't unsee, if that makes sense.

It's been suggested that there may be phones that don't have the issue, but it's been pretty much confirmed by OnePlus that this probably there to some degree, due to the orientation of the screen.

If you flip the phone 180 degrees, and scroll slowly/moderately fast, do you notice any difference to the right way up?

    Not noticing any jelly scrolling.

Anyone have a link to a decent silicone case like the one that came free with the OnePlus X? Cheaper is better!

I've been looking hard to see can I spot it on mine, but luckilly I haven't. Had I, I'd be looking to return it. It's strange that the extent of the issue seems to vary so much from phone to phone, as it appears that the screen inversion is common to all of them.

I'm chuffed to bits with mine, I must say. Only whinge thus far is that there's the tiniest bit of wiggle in the volume and power buttons.

Finally got my hands on mine. Tis a beaut to use! Scrolling looks completely fine to my naked eye. Camera is ridiculous detail compared to the crap cameras that I'm used to.

Is there any apps out there currently that could make use of 8 gigs of RAM? virtualization stuff maybe? who knows what app technologies will appear down the line too.

Yeah there's several discussion topics on the OnePlus forums about it. Some people that claim they don't have it, actually do, like here: LINK

It's really an issue of whether or not you can notice it. If you don't see it, then you're in luck, and you'll probably love the phone.

Two ways I've been able to reproduce it are, going to the Facebook app, and slowly scrolling up and down, without taking your finger off the screen. Try it like that, then with the phone upside down.

Another way it seems to be clear is, in the Facebook app, put the phone in landscape and scroll up and down slowly. The horizontal lines should look fairly wavy as you scroll.

I had noticed a little streching on the screen on mine earlier. It was very slight and I thought it was a software tweak or something. I really don't think it'd make me return the phone though.

It's that stretching that's the problem. It'll go away completely when you flip the phone.

It's not a deal breaker for some, but coming from an (also) fast HTC 10, and being used to smooth, responsive scrolling, it's a big difference, and not what I expect from a €550+ phone.

It all comes down to personal preference though.

I know I said streching but it's more slight squashing if that makes sense.

Maybe a small section above my finger going half a type/font size smaller.

Like I said I've just got the phone today and didn't hear anything about this issue before I read your post and to me it looks a little like a "Software Feature" for when you hit the end of a page or something, even though it's not.

I *think* that I can see it if I scroll in a certain way but that's not the normal way that I scroll so it not a big issue for me personally. I could see how it might be annoying for some people though.

Would an update fix it or is it only on specific phones so it can't be fixed?

Anyone go for the black or red one plus silicone case instead of the usual snap on covers?

It's on all phones. The OP5 has the display mounted upside down so the screen is refreshing faster at the bottom than the top. Not everyone will notice it though.

Just ordered this one - https://www.casefanatic.com/oneplus/case-oneplus-5-electroplated-transparent-clear-silicone-tpu-cover/

Works out cheaper with postage and was recommended on one of the YouTube reviews.

What makes that case attractive? Is it price, fit, performance?? Would you mind linking to the case review you referred to?

I used to have a Diztronic case on my old OP1 so would be happy to wait a couple of weeks to see if they repeat the trick.

Actually I'm wrong. I meant this review - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w5B1Ne-fy4&feature=youtu.be - but he actually linked to some skins. I guess I found the link to the case on this thread. I have no idea what it is like but I'll let you know when it arrives.
