    Floyd via KO-TKO
This is a simple straightforward boxing match with 2 guys getting into the ring.

I can't think of a single good reason why Floyd would want to let Conor perform well and land punches on his face.

    Punches hurt.

I agree, for the collusion to happen it would take serious effort and too many people involved,

I will say one thing though its clear Floyd is blowing Conors trumpet pre fight to make it sound competitive and that hes worried.

Yep, the pre-fight build up from Floyd's side so far is embarrassing.

He should be coming out and saying "Conor is the one of the best mixed martial artists alive and I'm going to absolutely school him and make that b1tch regret ever saying my name".

Hopefully it'll change when they get into a Presser and Conor starts having a go at him.

Its getting beyond ridiculous now what both of them are doing

Floyd is talking himself down on instagram that he is old and past it and not the fighter he was . He would never ever do this before a fight . saying if conor hurts him he will find a way to win etc . There was also footage of his sparring which is never ever leaked . it just so happens that he looks mediocre in it

Then Conor on the other hand is releasing footage of how great he is . Photos of his sparring partners getting beat up . This is simply a no no from a fighters point of view . You don't embarrass your sparring partners like that .

However its all just a work from all involved .

I'm sure they will be best of mates after the fight as they are both winning here really

Floyd is been cute. He will make a fool out of Colin.

I can't really think of anything other than the tickets but TMT ****ed that up for MayPac and there were a lot of complaints overall.

There will be murder if they only release the tickets 6 days before this event.

It won't happen. Bob Arum was blamed for that and if I remember right there was lawsuits being threatened even 10 days before the fight.

What I heard is that the World Tour Press Conferences are in the following cities in this order:

London, Toronto, New York, DC, L.A. and Las Vegas.

With the London press conference either this Wednesday or the following one. I think the PPV and tickets will be on sale then.

Its a farce will all know that. Money fight for both fair play to both of them. Mayweather already as expected saying he's there for the taking. They are both master's at building it up. It will gross big numbers fair play to both. But as a contest this is a complete joke. Conelo was schooled by mayweather. Mayweahter is a young 40 year old. Few miles on the clock as a boxer against a guy who basically can't box. He knocks out people with light gloves once the bigger gloves go on as a sparring partner said he cant hit. So if he can connect and its hard his punch's are not that effect. Anyway delighted for MacGregor he's done amazing in the ufc. Giving me great nights entertainment in the ufc. Stayed up to see the man and in the ufc he's unbeatable at his current wait. But this is a money fight. And fair play to both and McGregor make the money. Just hope he continues in the ufc.

I'm almost sure it was MW Promotions handling tickets for that but I'm probably mixing it up with some other thing.

No Dublin? Was that part of the deal?

Apparently Floyd had it written into the contract that "no home cities" are allowed on any Press Tour. So no Dublin and no Grand Rapids, Michigan.

As if they would ever go to Michigan anyway...

He can and most likely is.A wise move giving up boxing as a young lad.

For us know-nothing-about-boxers what in particular was bad? It didn't look impressive to my untrained eye but I've seen floyd do stuff at similar speed with that type of bag.

I wouldn't expect any solid answers to that question.

Conor is nothing if not media savvy. These videos are probably some silly attempt to get Floyd to underestimate him.

If someone thinks you're gonna be crap, releasing footage that shows you're even crapper than crap, is probably going to re-enforce that opinion.

Remember, that's for the public's benefit as much as it is to try encourage Floyd to be complacent. Conor has never been dropped in his entire career and plenty of people would love to see him knocked out cold for the amount of sh1t he talks. They might be more likely to tune in if they think he's beyond crap and likely to get slept.

I was listening to a podcast last night with Jeff Mayweather, Kevin Lee (UFC fighter in Conor's weight-class), Dewey Cooper (Lee's striking coach and good friend of Floyd).

They were all saying that Floyd is treating this as seriously as he treated Manny Pacquiao, that he's training like a demon and that he knows Conor can be dangerous if taken too lightly, so there'll be no complacency.

I'm sure you will tell me that they're in on the big con too or that you know better than Floyd's uncle and best friends

    OMG.

I am *literally* quoting to you what people in Mayweather's camp are saying.

How am I "blinded" by quoting you a podcast?

Sorry that it doesn't fit you boxing guys narrative but the people close to Mayweather are saying he's training hard and treating Conor as a dangerous opponent.

As a consummate professional, I expected no less from Floyd.

I was referring to the fact that you think releasing crap footage is benefiting Conor . It does not

I agree Floyd will train like he hasnt got a cent in the bank . Always has.

That doesn't surprise me. Like I said many moons ago, Floyd should be able to fall out of bed Aug 26, stroll on in to the T Mobile arena and beat McGregor up with ease....

But Floyd is no dummy. Any capable man swinging punches could possibly KO him, even if it's that ridiculously slim a chance.

Training as hard as he did when he met Manny? If that's what Floyd genuinely believes needs doing then so be it. Me......? see two sentences above.

    Still a con, btw!

Well regardless of whether you believe it benefits him, he's been doing it consistently in MMA for 2 years now.

Why would anyone think that anything McGregor does will impact the way Mayweather prepares?

Mayweather is , as has already been pointed out, the ULTIMATE professional.

With regards the fight , do we think Mayweather will carry McGregor for a couple of rounds or just put him away early?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,351 ✭✭✭Littlehorny

There is a video on Youtube from Mayweathers last opponent Andre Berto and Berto describes whats its like fighting Mayweather only 2 years ago. He literally says how hard it was to land a punch and how sharp Mayweather is about evrything and how he paces himself during a fight.
This is coming from a guy who has boxed all his life and has reached world level and he admitted that Mayweather is just on another level altogether. Mc Gregor has trained for years to do what he does but its impossible with his limited experience to even get within a mile of what Mayweather knows in a boxing ring.

It's all speculation because ultimately with a circus like this nothing should surprise.

I would think that Floyd plays around for a while landing shots here and there and even allowing Conor to get up close and look competitive. In other words trying to give the impression to the gullible fans that this is a contest

And either then allowing it to go on and on, or deciding enough is enough and taking Conor out...

Anybody else worried about the legitimacy of this contest?

Seems a lot like a pro wrestling storyline.

They'd hardly predetermine/script the fight, no?
