A screen protector is a must these days unfortunately!! Cracked 2 glass protectors in 3 weeks of getting the phone myself. Still haven't gotten around to ordering another.

Yeah me 2. Im pretty sure v7.1.2 is available.

I cannot see 7.1.2 available for the S7 anywhere. Did you read that somewhere - have you a link?

Rumours are saying Samsung will release 7.1.2 for the S7 next alight but it's not available yet.

How much for a screen replacement on an S7 Edge. Phone fell out of my hand on the bus one day and got a small crack on the top left (Not really on the screen at all luckily). However today I noticed the crack has spread to the top speaker grill. Wondering if its worth fixing

Done a real number on my phone (edge) tonight. Phone slipped out of my pocket as I sat into my car. The door shut on it smashing the front screen and a big crack across the rear. I have it insured with Gadget Insurance, has anyone any experience of dealing with them for accidental damage claims? Any idea how much the excess is?

    Does anyone use edge panels?

I love the apps panel, but I can only fit ten apps there and I would love a second identical panel, but I can't seem to add one. Does anyone know how?

Battery on my S7 have gotten worse. I leave it charging overnight (could that be the problem??) until about 7am. Light usage throughout the day and it's below 10% by 7 or 8pm every night. Any ideas?

Same as yourself, starting to get worn out at how bloody piss poor the battery in the S7 is.

You'll hear the usual stuff, disable location services, Bluetooth, screen brightness, turn off apps background etc etc etc. But what's the point in forking out HUGE money for these devices if one is to cut off all these features and have it as a bare skeleton device with everything turned off and disabled?? Could never understand that train of thought.

My device needs to be charged over night and at least once fully during the day and the battery still may not last. Location services is turned off but i have bluetooth on, a few email accounts synchronized with a 1hr sync time and then the usual social media apps etc.

I'm a huge Samsung fan but this atrocious battery life is turning me right off.

Just started using the night clock on the edge panels. Said I may as well use the gimmick :D have it set for just 6 hours per night. Is there any known issues of screen bleed or anything like that? I know with the always on display the screen moves around but not night clock...

You could look at Battery under Device Maintenance and a have a look at what apps are consuming the most power.

Use the Wakelock Detector LITE app to help pin it down.

I've seen posts on other websites saying delete the cache after every update if you are having battery problems. Turn off the phone and hold vol up and home button while turning it on. Use the vol buttons to move down to wipe cache partition and press the lock button. Highlight yes and press the lock button again and it will restart.

for google play services and the google app scroll to the bottom on their play store pages and opt into the beta, change your phone language to english US

    enable google assistant

Enjoy being able to actually ask your phone to do things

I smashed mine last weekend. My insurance is covering it but they are getting me to send the phone to a company called Fónfix Ireland, based in Sandyford. From looking at their website a repair costs €230, no matter the size of the job.

If €230 covers any repair it is great value. I paid €275 for a screen repair with SBE.
I wonder if they will cover water damage at that price? Mine recently took a dip and the camera and screen lock buttons are failing now. would rather repair for 230 than replace :(

Tried that and made no difference.Battery at 8% now after an average days use.
Installed Wakelock and it seems Google is my biggest drain, its x846 currently....what should I do?
Tripadvisor another big drain and I rarely use it so I'll uninstall that.

Can you post a screenshot of the wakelock screen? Did you follow the instructions in the app and use the chrome extension to unlock the extra stats?

Someone ight have asked you already...

Where did you buy your phone? Is it locked to the network?
What version of Android 7.0 is it running?

Have you tried installing the latest non-branded version of Android? BTU would probably be recommended.

I've attached a screenshot of the version-

I got it as an upgrade with emobile or Eir mobile now. Its locked to them and not rooted.

Again,I don't know how to "install the latest non-branded version of Android"......

Looks like you're fairly up to date. How much screen on time are you getting from a full charge?

I take it off charge at about 7am each morning, fairly average usage throughout the day, just checking emails and looking at various apps and sites but its by no means constantly on. In Battery usage it says "estimated usage time remaining:11h 36m" but it'll be below 10% by 8pm. I'll use it more after 5pm but like I said I'm not a heavy user.

So has anyone made the jump to S8, any thoughts?

I suspect that the S8 owners no longer have a reason to read this thread. :)

Try asking in the actual S8 thread.
