No, just pointing out the idiocy of your such certainty!

    I said 1/50 favourite, that's not a certainty.

Every 1 in 50 times AJ might land the perfect punch, KO him, then cave his head in :)

    Anyway moving on....

This also, or at least take it back to the McGregor thread where it belongs. This is the boxing forum, a little decorum please.

you weren't moaning when Walshb was off yapping about tennis comparisons or Gamebred on about Andre Ward......

    I see a pattern here.

My comparison was about miss matches Wonder not street fights stop being pedantic, nobody wants to hear of hypothetical street fights that will never happen its been done to the death.

I tend not to read back far on these threads. Seems like a sound strategy, doubt i miss much. So yeah, missed it!

Your hypothetical Maia v Ward match will never happen either.

I'm not being pedantic either. I'm trying to educate boxing folks like Walshb who genuinely seem to believe boxers are the best fighters. They're not. They'd all be destroyed against elite kickboxers, MMA fighters, wrestlers on the street in unarmed combat.

    Anyway.... 49-1 :D

You're forgetting about when a 47 year old Ray Mercer ko'ed Tim Silvia in MMA in 7 seconds

Jesus, high and mighty statements are a plenty today.

I don't want to get into this tit for tat argument about this type of fighter beating another. I generally give an elite boxer a proper good chance against an MMA fighter, kick boxer or wrestler on the street. A Krav Maga teacher told me the minute you throw a kick in a street fight, you give up your base and can be rushed and thats game over.

If an elite fighter (as you said) started throwing punches at an elite level towards an MMA fighter or a wrestler on the street, they would only need to land 1 or 2 digs and thats all she wrote.

Anyway, lets leave it at that.

    Mayweather vs McGregor is it?

I liked the pseudo intellectual numbers prediction based off googling things, that was a good part of the catch up on the thread, also the part when there is little relevance in difference whether your ppv sells for 50 or 100 dollars.

Been some great clips floating around my facebook today, Broners "First televised bank robbery" is gold, Mike Tyson interview was funny, Hitman comments etc, only people probably not happy about this exhibition bout are Canelo, GGG and all connected with that fight as it is just going to get swamped by the Mayweather hype. It will kill it, which of course was the intention, Mayweather proving he is still the biggest thing in boxing and ****ting on a mega fight.

I find it hard to get hyped for the match itself, don't think it will be much of a show, but the build up is sure to be excellent once the press conferences start, neither man will have encountered someone quite like the other in that setting so should make for some quality viewing.

Depending on the undercard I may pay for it, but quite likely this will simply be streamed at this point. The near certainty of being ripped off by the main event and being left feeling robbed is overwhelming right now :)

    Where's Wallace?

So you prefer when people pluck PPV predictions from the sky rather than actually do a bit of research to make an informed guess?

"Ripped off" by the main event how? Every "expert" believes Floyd will demolish Conor. If you pay for it knowing this then you're not "ripped off", you're getting what you paid for.

OR we get to see something we've never seen before - either man getting flattened. Conor has never been dropped let alone KO'd and neither has Floyd.

We might get to see one of them hit the deck from a punch. For a lot of people that'd be worth the money to see.

Not sure why some think the build up will be excellent. Both are so very much contrived and predictable. Floyd is ridiculously bland. Conor is OTT scripted, but he can be funny at times. Anyway, whatever floats your boat...

Conor's worst lines are the ones he prepares, but thankfully he doesn't do it often.

The "pimp in Gucci mink" was prepared, so was the "animal balloons" line. They fell a bit flat. But when he just rocks up there for a presser unscripted, he's just naturally good on the mic responding to questions instinctively.

No it's not. It's one of the reasons.

He could make a dozen Hollywood movies in the next few years and make $100 million without being punched once.

He wants to prove to people he's the best combat sports athlete on the planet.

Hollywood?? Have you seen his horse racing ads?? He'd have trouble portraying a corpse he's that bad at "acting".

Who the hell cares who would win in a street fight or a fight to the death .. I feel you really enjoy violence for some reason .

That didn't stop Chuck Norris and Van Damme from making fortunes. Neither of them can act to save their life.

Ronda Rousey wasn't exactly putting in Oscar-winning performances in The Expendables either. I must have missed the Golden Globe Mike Tyson got for The Hangover films.

Whether celebrities can act or not is irrelevant to their earning potential. They'd stick Conor in lots of action films alongside Jason Statham and the likes, throwing lots of kicks and not saying a whole lot.

hit the nail on the head there, given the stuff thats coming out lately acting skill isnt really needed for most films anymore

Bonkers? You're so clueless it's funny. Conor was already offered the following:

Multi-Million $ offer for Lead role in a Predator re-boot:

    http://entertainment.ie/cinema/news/Conor-McGregor-turned-down-the-lead-role-in-a-major-Hollywood-blockbuster/389923.htm

Part in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2710046-conor-mcgregor-turned-down-role-in-new-movie-king-arthur-says-guy-ritchie

7-figure offer to star in Vin Diesel's 'XXX':

There's nothing 'bonkers' about it. Conor can easily make massive money in Hollywood regardless of how bad his acting is if he didn't want to be punched in the face anymore.

You haven't a notion how big a star he is in America.

Yeah he may be a **** actor alright but there's no doubt at all that Conor could earn a nice living making ****ty action movies.

Arnold was the lead in the first to be fair, not exactly your classic description of a thespian either! :D

You're right there! He was offered a role but not lead. I remember when I watched that Expendables movie with Rousey and Victor Ortiz. It was the first time I had ever saw her and she was so obviously not an actor.

Who the **** is that guy was one of the funniest press conference moments ever tbh

I agree with all of that, Floyd bland, Conor OTT and cringe inducing a lot of the time, both very much contrive and yet, I still expect to be entertained by it far more then the actual bout!

This fight is a farce. You may as well set up Anthony Joshua vs The Ultimate Warrior, that's how genuinely spotting this is.

Joshua would probably win that one.
