I think the NFC West is clearly the worst division, the Rams and the 49ers probably won't get 5 wins between them (and given they play each other twice, that's quite a statement). Arizona could be ok but probably a 7 or 8 win team, then Seattle probably will win 10-12 games. I don't think any other division is that poor.

When comparing the AFC East, NE > Seattle, Miami > Arizona, Buffalo > Rams. Maybe the Jets are on a par with SF, but overall the AFC East is stronger. The AFC South could be pretty poor as well but not as bad as the NFC West.

I get where your coming from but I just have a different opinion on it. I think both Seattle and New England win 11-12 games, I have Arizona winning 10-11 and Miami winning between 6-8, Buffalo Rams is pretty even 4-7 and I have the 49ers winning more games than the Jets.

Anyway it's just my opinion based on the information I have on hand and my projections on the year ahead, I dont think the 49ers are going to be as bad as the Browns last year, but I do think the jets will be that bad, who knows what could happen.

I'd nearly consider AFC North similar, albeit a little stronger, than the NFC West.

    Steelers - Seahawks
    Ravens - Cardinals
    Bengals - Rams
    Browns - 49ers

I don't think the Rams will be as bad as last season, and I would seriously question how Dalton performs for what will be his first season without being behind one of the best OLs in football.

It'll almost be like playing a different game for him if that line regresses as much as it appears it may do on paper.

I'd have AFC East slightly ahead of both, but they're my definite bottom three anyway.

Clip of Warren Sapp discussing safety concerns/CTE/what he wants to see being done about it. Pretty scary stuff. I hope all owners watch this and just think twice about the future health of the individuals that help them line their own pockets

I think Sapp donated his brain a long time ago tbh.

I do think things look very good for the Titans with Mariota, although I would say the same for the Bucs with Winston. It is looking like a case where both are great picks and can be franchise QB's.

I think the love for Dak is getting a bit insane. He had a great rookie season but, and this is not anti cowboy, he could not have landed in a better spot. He was a very effecvtive and efficient game manager, not a slight, but seeing him in these types of debates & him being ranked as the No.14 player in the recent NFL top 100 is ridiculous. I would need to see a good bit more out of Dak before he is annointed a great one like some people seem to belive he already is.

big market team effect, if he was doing the same for the Giants or Bears he'd be lauded as much i think

If you judge him on what he has done though, it's impressive. Game manager I agree and struggled in the playoff game but overall he had an unbelievable rookie season, it's hard to take any credit away from him for that.

    Fully agree.

I also think Derek Carr is getting a little overhyped, although he's a great QB. I'd still take the likes of Mariota, Winston, Luck, Wilson, Newton and the obvious trio, Brady, Brees and Rodgers, all ahead of him.

He's got an amazing supporting cast and some of the best pass protection in football. I do look forward to seeing how he progresses this year, though.

Mariota I certainly think is underrated. He's just so polished.

Edit: Naming those QBs and still having the likes of Rivers and Big Ben makes me sad as to how low down the list Eli currently is for active QBs.

So so far down and no signs of him turning it around :(

I don't want anyone to think I'm saying Dak is terrible, nothing of the sort but he was just voted the No.14 player in the NFL, overall, not QB, overall.

There are at least a dozen QB's I would want before Dak right now, just think people need to reign it in. He basically had an Alex Smith season, which is obviously great for a rookie but like I say, ideal scenario and unreal talent around him on the offense.

My view will be a bit skewed as he was pretty poor both times we faced off against them.

He actually did really well in the playoff game, 300yds and 3TDs with a very strong second half. Though against GB, that might well be below average. But yeah, #14 is kneejerkish as... well as can be expected from NFL coverage.

Dak was also voted higher than Romo ever managed. Tony Romo who was underrated, despite playing for the biggest team and dragging an average roster to 8-8 every year. Even after the 2014 season, Romo only managed 37 or something.

David Johnson not being top 10 is mental to me too. What he did in every game for Arizona was insane.

Agree David Johnson not being in the top 10 is a bit of a joke. One of the best players in the game. But then Dak being 14 is a joke as well.

How does it work for the NFL players? When they play in different states on different weeks are they taxed in that state?

yeah it basically means that half his yearly salary isnt subject to state tax, but the other 8 games are.
Raiders play in Tennessee which also has no state tax and probably a couple of others

My understanding is that the answer is yes, your paycheque per game is liable to taxation where the game was played. So Carr will still have to pay state taxes on most away games. They are also liable for federal income tax.

Those are the fed tax rates, chunky enough

    ingle Filers Tax Rate
    $0 ? $9,275 10.0%
    $9,276 ? $37,650 15.0%
    $37,651 ? $91,150 25.0%
    $91,151 ? $190,150 28.0%
    $190,151 ? $413,350 33.0%
    $413,351 ? $415,050 35.0%
    $415,051+ 39.6%

Considering anyone here is paying 40% on anything over €40k I wouldn't call those chunky especially given the average state tax is <6% unless you live in California or New York.

I find that fascinating. Paying tax in each state you played in on any given week, a mad system. I would have thought it was wherever the team was based.

A lot of the US tax system seems almost deliberately designed to make things as complicated as possible.

I can only imagine the paperwork thats involved in filing taxes in 10ish different states a year, every year. Lots of work for accountants at least I guess.

the reality is, someone earning that much in ireland would likely set up a company and write off a **** load, from the very brief reading I've done, that doesnt seem possible.

In fariness, 60% of 120 odd million is still a nice bit of money.. he'll be comfortable anyway!

Well I hope he's ashamed of himself.

I think my taxes last year paid for the boot polish of the lad who ordered them to fire the missiles.
