Terriers just annoy me....little yappy ****es. Would only ever have a sheepdog around the place

We've two JRT's in work. Had three, bred right (could say for most dogs) they have to be the most docile dogs going.

Bull mastiffs. They were bred as gamekeepers dogs from Bulldogs and mastiffs. The sole purpose of the breed was to attack poachers coming onto the estate at night.
Your guess is as good as mine as to why they're still being bred in this day and age.

Status symbols for some people, who like to portray a "gangster" image.

    Business necessity for some others.

I picked up a stray dog at our lassies school gate, a month of so ago. Thought it was a type of bulldog.
Turned out go be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
Ridiculously friendly dog, I would have kept it if no owner was found but luckily she was chipped.

can one tag animal be sold in mart?

Think it depends on the mart, you do see them selling.

In our local mart they pen them and cattle with horns separate, of no department man about they sell them at the end.

But we're these dogs not bred for fighting? What purpose do they serve in today's world?

I know that any dog in the wrong hands can do damage, as it's as much the treatment a dog gets will determine how it behaves...

But some people can't be trusted with these types of dogs. So should they these types of dogs just be banned?

Well the bulldog and bull terrier were originally cattle dogs,( as indeed were the Corrgi and I believe, the Standard Poodle) it's when you start crossing breeds with the aim of adding aggressive traits that you develop problems.

And of course, owners looking for "guard" dogs encourage such behaviour.

Then on an entirely different level of scummery are those despicable people who use dogs for fighting.
The defibrillator in the local town was placed in a prominent position, but was stolen ( there were a number stolen across the county). Now you have go to the nearby pub if you need it. Not much use at 3 in the morning.

What's the story with stealing those defibrillators? Are they worth money to someone or just plain vandalism?

Apparently they are used in dog fights to enrage the dogs.

A man that was interviewed by the Indo about the dog attack claimed there there was a lot of ''commotion'' going on before the incident.
The dogs would sense the agro I'd say

It's always a few that ruin everything... regardless of what it is...

But does the damage these dogs can do in the wrong hands, outweigh the benefits of people having them?

It's reported in the media already that the woman was in her 60's and went to visit her niece at noon. The homeowners weren't there. The homeowners alerted the authorities just before 3 when they returned home. The woman was confirmed dead at the scene.
The 2 dogs involved were Italian bullmastiffs.

Exactly that. The brother told me month ago that the defibs are stolen for that reason.

I don't see the need for fighting dogs. The BIL had 2 boxers he couldn't control, neighbours threatened to shoot them if the left his yard. Couldn't blame them, they have a small girl who wouldn't stand a chance.

End story, they killed sheep and were put down. I still maintain it could have been a child and they were very lucky.

Christ, that's a new low. Helped a relative one night using one to try and save someone. Sadly they didn't survive. House across the road has one too as son died from adult sudden death syndrome a few years back and they have it just in case for the other boys.

I have a batch of aax heifers. While they are thriving, there is no shine off their coats. I dosed and gave copper. Was thinking of a mineral lick. Do many here give mineral licks to grazing beef cattle?

Have yearling heifers and yearling bull booked into mart tomorrow. One of the heifers is bulling today. Murphy's law and all that. Had bull separate from them all along. Would you make 2 trips to mart or chance them in the one load? 40 miles round trip to mart.

Reliable medical journals report it is 18.3 times worse than child birth. Lord help you.

Some amount of road crashes around here this weekend, why is a bank holiday weekend different to any other?
