Big turning point in the London Leitrim game. London up by a point, hit the post, Leitrim counter and score a goal themselves. They back it up a few minutes later with another goal, and lead by 5 now. London on top possession wise and goals seem to have knocked the stuffing out of them.
I fancied that game to end in a draw and London probably deserved at least a draw. Leitrim subs made a big impact goals wins games. They will be well up for the derby against Roscommon next.

It's really gratifying that my decision to go to bed for a couple of hours and miss the televised game today has proven to be the correct one.

Think I'll be taking that option each sunday up until July at least.

My favorite GAA tweet of the year so far.

And the dubs response is pretty funny too.

Miss a handy free, here you go have another for nothing. Connolly pushed the linesman and bollocks him, nothing.

Even against Carlow they get the favors

Over carry and charging. Handy free in.

    Madenning to watch.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Only for the ref giving handy frees this would be a 2 point game.

Brain dead from Murphy. Yes Cooper was hanging off him but Murphy gave him exactly what he wanted. From one of their most experienced players as well.

Connolly should have probably gotten a red for grabbing the linesman. Referee has given some pretty handy frees to Dublin in the second half.

Connolly better get his legal team assembled again. Few months surely ?

The linesman who got the push in the chest is the one questions should be asked about. Did he not notice it happen? Did he not know it was against the rules?

No way he gets a ban. The linesman was a disgrace for not having the balls to get him sent off.

First one was never a yellow.

Pretty black and white for Connolly one would think:
    Category V Infractions
5.32 To interfere with a Referee, Umpire, Linesman or Sideline Official – minor physical interference e.g. laying a hand on, pushing, pulling or jostling.
    .
Minimum: 12 weeks Suspension in all Codes and at all Levels.

I don't know that lineman incident seriously annoyed me...grow a pair of balls lad and do something. Sure does he not know the rules or?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Connolly again. That lad needs counseling.

He was probably in shock at being assaulted by a player

    :D

Connolly won't learn because he keeps escaping punishment .
I actually think it's reaching the point for Dublin where you wonder is what he brings to the team outweighed by his temper...........not there yet but another high profile incident in a semi or final ......

Had he been rightly sent off then this could have been a lot stickier for them.

It's the same every time Dublin get in trouble.

True, but when he's already on a yellow, to do what he did is stupidity of the highest order.

Cue the post match views:: "Carlow were brave, spirited, inspirational yada yada "

Clearly a damaged limitation exercise, it's mean absolutely nothing

Dublin won really in 2nd gear, won't know much about them to the quarter final

Had the game been reffed in any way adequately they would have had a chance.

The damage limitation was by the ref on behalf of Dublin.

No they wouldn't have. It's that simple

Your crystal ball must be well polished. There was a handful of points in it then and with Dublin a man down Carlow could have got close. That added to the various handy scoring frees Dublin got means we'll never know had Carlow got a fair crack at it.

We will never know but highly unlikely, result was never in doubt.

YOu stated thast you did know. Nice to admit you were wrong.

Had Dublin not had those handy free's and had to play a man down the last 25 minutes instead of with an extra man then the result would most certainly have been in doubt at that point.

Naturally you'd still expect Dublin to win, but the result would have been in doubt.

An actual joke of a referereeing performance. Carlow could not get a break against Dublin, they could not lay their hands in for a tackle without the whistle bring blown. Dublin would have won no question but with fair play it wouldn't have been a 12 point margin.

On connolly - the tipperary goalkeeper is now serving a 12 week suspension for pushing a referee in a club game. So if Connolly is not sanctioned retrospectively for pushing the linesman tonight I lose all faith in the GAA.
