I'm not sure what's happening there, did JK tweet that to TF?

Of is TF just having a go at something JK tweeted to no one?

John didn't tag Ferguson in the post but it was directed at him.

Basically it stems from the Dana White interview on Snoop Dogg's show where he revealed Conor texted him telling him "not to pay that bum Ferguson a cent" after Ferguson refused the short notice Johnson fight.

So John weighed in on it on Twitter.

It's extremely disingenuous. Yes, Conor has stepped up and accepted short notice replacements many times but the difference here is they offered Ferguson half the money to fight someone else.

I've a hard time believing he'd criticize his own fighters if they refused a short-notice replacement for financial reasons.

It was a clear reference to Tony who a few weeks ago told Nate that he was in the wrong sport he should go try Tennis. (Complained about him not taking fights)

Tony wanted to avenge that defeat to Johnson rematch was scheduled but fell apart he fought Lando at short notice an unknown at the time who well we all know started to make his name on almost taking Tony out.

He has since beat the former champ who Conor never faced in the end, he was Scheduled to fight #1 Khabib for interim but now have the Johnson fight back in the meantime just on the off chance a legit outspoken contender can be potentially shut down oh and guess what if he wants to risk it we'll offer no incentive on par with the Khabib fight.

Shame on JK for spouting such bollocks, Tonys record is practically identical to Conors (1 better in fact) so maybe he belongs in MMA, Conor is the one hunting down different sports last time we checked.

Shame on JK for spouting such bollocks....

He'll say "It's just like my opinion man".

Which is fair enough but I don't see the point in deliberately provoking other fighters - Conor is well capable of fighting his own battles.

I much prefer Roddy's style of handling things, he just keeps his head down with a smile on his face and does his bit. Playing devils advocate, if you write a book then I suppose you do need to get involved in this type of controversy to sell more copies. So from that perspective it's probably a good move prodding the likes of Ferguson and Woodley on twitter.

Just feels a bit like someone poking the bear knowing they'll never have to actually fight the bear.

Jesus lads, yous are going out of your way make a big deal out of nothing.

Nate refusing to sign a fight for financial reasons
Tony: "maybe MMA isn't for you, try tennis"
    ...
Tony then refuses to sign a fight for financial reasons
JK: "maybe MMA isn't for you, try tennis"

It's a joke, Tony brought it on himself by taking that stance with Nate.

They're not the same thing and you know it :pac:

Nate's reasons for not signing a fight on 3 months notice was he wanted high 7-figures.

Tony's reasons for not signing on 24 hours notice was that the UFC wanted to cut his pay in half.

Remember Chael Sonnen devoting 5 minutes of his podcast to have a right go at JK for this very reason? ("You're a coach, leave this stuff to fighters").

You don't see Eddie Bravo tweeting pithy sarcastic jabs at Conor...

Maybe i'm in the minority here but i actually found it quite good and this is from someone who personally doesn't give a flying f**k what JK tweets or doesn't.

Safe to say Ferguson didn't find it funny with a hashtag of #SitDownBeHumble and saying "Maintain your lane b1tch".

Anyway, it worked with articles such as this written about it:

Nobody said they were the exact same?
It's poking fun at the parallel , it doesn't need to be exact same. It's a joke on twitter, not technical analysis.

By that logic, we shouldn't be anything here as we aren't UFC fighters (or coaches for that matter).

Half the time I reckon Kavanagh gets called out so much on this thread because people know he follows (used to follow) it.

He's a coach but he's also an individual, expressing opinions on twitter hurts nobody unless people get touchy about it - like Ferguson did (stupidly). He should hold back because he's a coach? Fúck that, if he sees something, let him call it - all of this is entertaining anyway, has us all talking, that's the name of the game.

I'm looking forward to Froch and Bellew etc. having to pretend to the casuals that this is a competitive fight.

i actually spoke with froch last month and asked him about this, he just said something along the lines of that it was a farce and an insult to boxing for the fight to go ahead. cant remember his exact words due to being pissed but it was along those lines :pac::pac:

Nobody is saying you can't make jokes or express opinions. That wasn't a joke though like "A man walks into a bar...", it was slagging Ferguson off.

Ferguson was slagging Nate off. Nate slagged Ferguson off. Then JK suggests Ferguson should take up tennis himself in a sly little dig. Why feel the need to get involved?

Anyway, in other "news" apparently Conor was on a mad one in Skerries the other night and kipped in the pub owners gaf. That'd lead me to believe the Floyd fight isn't as close as I thought.

I'd laugh if Ferguson slapped Kavangh when he sees him in person for taking shots at him, at no point in Kavanaghs tweet did he mention Ferguson was asked to take a paycut to accept the fight on 24hrs notice having made 155lb, plus the fact MJ couldnt make the weight so it'd been at a catch weight, moron he is imagine Firas or Greg Jackson at that crap on twitter its embarrassing.

Eddie Bravo should defend his fighters honour and challenge John to a match under EBI rules.

    How would that go incidentally?

Pair of them are crocked with injuries, Bravo has a better record competing, Kavanagh never won anything of note as far as I know.

John's a bigger man but as a competitive athlete Eddie's record is far superior and I'd imagine he's win handily.

Eddie must be a tiny dude so, John's not exactly a giant in build or height.

Why not at the same time, he's hopping ball and stirring it a bit, nothing wrong with it I think. The 'leave it to the fighters' thing is as unnecessary as JKs tweet - swings and roundabouts stuff is how I see it is all

Will it be Bruce or Michael Buffer doing the intros is the key talking point.

Maybe Bruce for Conor and Michael for Floyd. A Lets get ready to rumbleeeeeee followed by itssssssss time!!!

    Good times.

Certainly seems to be a duplicitous aspect to Kavanagh's personality, at least as far as different mediums are concerned. In interview's/ IRL he often seems diffident and respectful. On social media, his takes sometimes verge on the crass and immature. I get that this two sided dynamic isn't exactly unique to him but suffice to say he certainly seems more personable IRL...

Anyways, he's got a book to hawk, so that goes some way in explaining it.

Your talking good (Kavanagh) versus great (bravo). Eddie stoned, would beat Kavanagh
