They have popped up my Guardian football weekly in the last few days too.
What podcast client are you using? I'm using Pocket Casts.
I think they might be injecting ads into podcasts as extra revenue stream.
The VHI add don't show up on the podcast time counter as they play before podcast or after when podcast episode should be over.

I got a VHI ad at the start of the magic sponge's latest episode. Thought that was really strange.

Just did a check there now and there is no ad at the start of it anymore! WTF.

No ads on second captains. I can't imagine they will include ads either after they specifically said they won't at the outset.

I can only assume precious poster was genuinely misleading due to his own issues with the podcast, or he got confused with other podcasts.

VHI ads on Football Weekly and Football Ramble last few weeks.
In the actual audio file so presumably they can filter by location and send the audio clip with built in ad depending on which country you are in.

Updated on Google Play on 17th May so if you update to the latest version you may find some ads.

I've been getting a load of VHI ads recently. Before that I think it was an ad for Lotto, that started out "Close your eyes, unless you're driving or flying a plane..." I assume it's done by the hosting companies as they're showing up on US/UK shows and could much more easily sell in bulk.

I don't think they're on the Second Captains shows. It might be a case of the show immediately after in peoples' queues are sponsored and since these ads are dropped in before the intro/theme music of the second show you might mistake it for being the show previous.

Are you sure it's second captains with the ads? Guardian Football Weekly definitely has VHI ads, but I haven't heard any on second captains.

Ken being a bit weird about Chelsea "not finding a non-playing role" for JT, implying they don't want him around. Well he might not want one if he isn't retiring so don't think it's fair comment.

It's hardly a quantum leap to make that the departure of a fella who had to organise his own going away do, after 22 years, is not going to prompt floods of tears in his erstwhile colleagues.

So he was there 22 years but everybody hated him and couldn't wait for him to go and wanted to see the back of him? Even though there's never been a reported case of him having a bust up with a fellow player or an ex-player attacking him in the press. A bit of a reach.

Anyway I'd prefer to keep on topic to the basic point that Ken wasn't making sense as Terry isn't retiring.
