    'Let them in' from where?

The overwhelming likelihood is whoever did this was born and raised in the UK.

It's the flow of hateful ideology on the internet that needs to be stopped, not a blanket religious ban on travel.

Oh right you stop the spread of information i.e. censorship, yet you don't get to the physical source of the problem and restrict travel.

Cue person was an islamist on the police radar, and was let go to an Arianna Grande concert (oh I wonder why)

Nobody has the balls to stop it when the solution is so simple. They get caught up in these moronic soft governance issues such as the "flow of hateful ideology on the internet that needs to be stopped". I wonder why this approach hasn't worked yet.

Don't let it stop you that we don't even know where the bomber was from yet.

    Oh come on.
It doesn't matter where he/she was from, we all know his/her religious beliefs and we have seen the group who have claimed responsibility.

Jesus Christ. RIP to all those victims. Those who witnessed it will be affected for the rest if their lives.

Imho some of the content on this thread is the same ould bullshít that gets wheeled out every time there is an attack. I'd prefer it if ye took it over to the Paris thread and continued the same tired arguments which avoid logic and resolve nothing whilst trying to score points.

Those who carried out the attack are fücking cowards and not all Muslims are the same. Two basic and simple facts that cannot be disputed.

But they all read the same book and believe in the same God,coincidence?

It's about as appropriate as ignoring and making excuses for what's happening to Europe.

I guess you missed my point.

What point? That we should just expel all Muslims? This issue didn't stem from people ignoring what was happening in Europe it came about because we ignored what was happening in Syria. If you want to discuss politics we can do so elsewhere, otherwise please refrain from spouting your usual political nonsense.

    Winston Churchill once said
Islam to a man is like rabies to a dog. Islam is a deadly disease.
We see the result of this now.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but our tolerance of and the pandering to the most extreme forms* that firmly and so obviously reject Western values should be suppressed. These are the breeding grounds and refuges for the perpetrators fcuking animals that see kids as legitimate targets. Our values is what they hate and is a weakness they exploit.

*( Salafism, burkas, tolerating preachers spouting bilious hate speech, the ideology of undoing decades of enlightenment and equality in schools, recognising Sharia as an acceptable legal system , websites hosting such ideology, giving oxygen and airtime to odious individuals as somehow representative of main stream Islam etc).

Thoughts with the victims and families. RIP
    Heartbreaking.

How do you know the attacker wasn't English? Bloody hell have some common sense.

English/American/Chinese or French,it doesn't matter where the attacker was from. The simple matter is they have been brain washed by someone into thinking it is OK to murder innocent ****ing children. The people behind the brain washing have had contact with these religious groups.

I am actually in shock that people are still trying to defend the influx of refugees into our country and other European states.

Love or hate trump but at least hes trying to stop islamic terrorism. Time for europe to close its borders and outline a plan of how to deal with these attacks

Trump just sold Saudi Arabia billions worth of weapons. You're aware that nearly all the Islamic terrorism has Saudi roots? Sunni Muslim roots?

He's done sweet F all other than talk. In fact, he gave up an Israeli operative to the Russians with his big mouth.

What will closing the borders achieve if these guys are born-and-bred UK citizens?

There's 3 million British Muslims who are born-and-bred British. What's your "so simple" solution? Throw them all in jail? "Deport" them all? To where? They're British.

There are no simple solutions and anybody saying there are is a complete tool.

Yes most sane people would want to expel those who are delighted to visit Allah and murder as many innocents as they can. Why dont these muslim supporters head to Syria and play roulette with their own lives. Leave the sensible innocent people alone. Let the muslims blow themselves up in their own countries.

Controlled immigration and a ban on refugees will certainly help.

    The refugees can't be vetted.

Christianity is responsible for as much violence. In reality religion has nothing to do with it.

Islam is not the reason people are getting killed, and by thinking so it takes away some of the responsibility from the people actually carrying out the atrocities

Would you ever fcuk off with this nonsense. It is an essence of fundamentalist Islam what some of these believe.
There are no Christian priests openly encouraging people to go and kill others these days.

That some people, cowards, use Islam to attempt to justify such extreme acts is the problem. If there was no Islam, they'd find another excuse, or a cult or something and still destroy lives.

Where did a majority of them come from? They're like a separate sect that has exception over everything, you can't satirise them, like other religions, they don't integrate, no no they impose their views on you.

They blow you up when you go to an Arianna Grande concert, imagine of having to be fearful of being blown up going to Arianna Grande.

It shouldn't be tolerated or let in.

    Islam isn't a country.

My dad used to have a ritual every morning, walk to the local corner shop in Oxford to buy the local and national papers.

When he was dying towards the end, the shop owner - A devout Muslim - asked me where dad was and I said he wasn't too well.

He took it upon himself to walk to the front door every single morning with both papers for dad and wouldn't accept any money for them either.

Tiny little touch but meant a lot to me and my dad.

That shop owner was in his 60's and born-and-bred in Oxfordshire. Where exactly do you want him deported to?

They think it's the work of one man.

My husband is Muslim and we have 3 kids who are the same ages as the kids at that concert. I haven't told him yet about the concert but he will be devastated. He will also feel the repercussions over the following days as people take their anger out on him as he goes about his daily life even though we live in Dublin far away from the bombing

    Hi Tracey,

Having lived as an Irishman in London during the late 80's and early 90's when the IRA were active I can understand the difficult situation your husband finds himself in and I sympathise. I hope he isn't the target of knee jerk reaction in any way.

One thing I will say (which you may not want to hear) is that I find the relative silence of mainstream Islam to be a major problem and a contributing factor to why many people blame "all of Islam" for these events. (I don't BTW)

Why aren't Islamic leaders in every town and city in the world holding press conferences and issuing statements which unreservedly condemn this and all previous terror incidents carried out in the name of Islam? If you're not condemning something which is being done in the name of your religion you are by inference, at least in the minds of a lot of people, quietly condoning it.

During the IRA campaigns Irish Govt, Religious, Civic and Business leaders would ALWAYS come out immediately to both condemn the latest atrocity and to consistently state that the perpetrators DID NOT represent Irish people. They did this as publicly as possible each and every time there was an atrocity and it was one of the main reasons people I lived and worked with in London were able to differentiate between ordinary Irish people going about their daily business and the IRA terrorists and whilst some people tarred us all with the same brush the vast majority didn't.

I just don't get why the leaders of Islam in every town and city in the UK aren't standing outside their Mosques right now unreservedly condemning what happened last night in Manchester and shouting from the rooftop that the perpetrator, if he does indeed turn out to have acted in the name of Islam, is in fact an extremist nut job who DOES NOT represent Islam.

Wouldn't it help your husband and all the peace loving followers of Islam if they did?
