There is religion and there is terrorist groups. I see Islam as more of a cult than a religion.

    All religions are cults

So wanted to believe it was a terrible accident like a speaker, but the timing was haunting me... just as all the crowd would be coming thru that point.
They really wanted to maximize loss of young life here.

The guys who killed Lee Rigby were British.

That was fours years ago to the day........ as that was also carried out on the 22nd of May.

Appears that they may have tried to enter with the hope of setting of the explosions inside but perhaps were refused and so waited at the doors for the concert to finish instead.

This will change security at these concerts forever now as I doubt anyone will be let near the exists from this day forward. I have noticed this myself at gigs in the 3 Arena, that 5 mins or so from the end anyone can walk into the gigs as they just throw open the exists once a significant number of people start leaving.

Thank Christ they didn't get in if that is indeed the case anyway as there surely would have been many more casualties had they done so.

No matter where you set a security cordon you can't prevent something like this. And outside would be just as bad as inside if they were to do it among thousands of people. Even way outside a stadium/arena you can still have hundreds or thousands of people clustered together making their way back to cars and public transport areas. Unfortunately you just prevent large gatherings of people.

Hi guys. I just got home. I've spent the last five hours in Manchester royal infirmary. Called in due to it been a major incident. Was racing around the hospital. Paeds a+e was a bloodbath. Adult a+e was bad too. I expect the number of deaths to rise I've never seen anything like it. My thoughts to the victims and their families. Much love to all the NHS workers who came in voluntarily to help out.

Manchester is well used to large scale events. There was a Man Utd match at Old Trafford the day before, There was a Brian Cox event in the arena that day too.

It's not better or worse to target these other events but these animals purposely targeted this event purely because they knew it would be full of children.

    Intolerance usually breeds more intolerance.

That sounds like it should be the case but unfortunately the world doesn't seem to be working like that. It is the most tolerant countries which are on the receiving end of these attacks. There hasn't been too many terror attacks in Poland, Hungary or Japan.

Given the fact that there are over 3.5 million muslims in France and their role in the middle east compared to ~25000 in Hungary and Poland then it's hardly a surprise.

Radical Muslims don't go to places like Poland and Hungary, you know why? Because they won't tolerate them.

Yeah, but France isn't being targeted because they're tolerant of muslims.

    But not all are radical.

Skanger tries to rob from, and then stab caretaker in a  Mosque in Dundrum. Caretaker kicks him and then cooks him scrambled eggs. Bumps into him in town the next day and gets his phones back and an apology

But they are in the UK.

So Option A is Be nice and tolerant and you get attacked.

Or Option B is be supposedly intolerant and you get attacked.

The Muslim religion needs to start policing itself now and not be blaming anyone else for being intolerant to it because despite the fact that being intolerant may not be helping being tolerant towards isn't doing much good either.I know these nut jobs want western society to rail against the religion so they can create an us against them scenario and use it to further their sick goals but can you really blame people for not being accepting of the religion when you repeatedly see what members of the religion do in the name of it.

Greece and Bulgaria have 30 times as many Muslims as Poland and Hungary combined and haven't suffered (m)any major terrorist incident.

    You're over-simplifying very complex issues.

People often become radicalized from home sitting in front of their laptops staring at atrocities in Syria and being whatsapp'd propaganda.

It's not simply a question of movement of people to areas they are "tolerated", it's the movement of hateful, murderous ideas that's the problem and the solution to that is not forthcoming.

The likes of Whatsapp gave terrorists a big leg-up on Intel communities.

Well not exactly, given the role the UK has in the middle east as well... They're no saints either.

Yes they are, because they know that they will tolerate it.

They'll get a hashtag going, they'll light a few candles, they'll dim the Eiffel tower, they'll arrest a few people and they'll sit around to wait for it to happen all over again. Tolerance.

France bombed the absolute bejesus out of Syria after the Nice attacks.

    You call that sitting around?

What do you want them to do?

Due to perform in London later this week.

There are 30 times more Muslims in Greece and Bulgaria because they are stuck in migrant camps. And they are readying themselves to go to countries that won't put them in migrant camps. Countries that will tolerate them.

I think you should read a little bit more about it before forming such a ridiculous opinion. France drop bombs in the middle east. They don't sit around loving everyone and get targeted by terrorists as a result of it.

Bombing the bejaysis out of ISIS in Syria is the minimum requirement. In fact, you have to wonder why it took Nice for them to do it. Why were they not bombing the bejaysis out of them the day before Nice?

Why are all these terrorists always know to police?

Why are there always a spate of arrests and raids AFTER these attacks?

I guarantee today you will hear 3 phrase's

    "Known to Police"
    "Lone Wolf"
    "Further arrests"

    Every single time.

I don't think Countries bombing the middle east will make much of a difference when the real war is on their own soil.

Do you realise a lot more terror plots are foiled than aren't? No police force can keep an eye on every possible terrorist at all times. They can't just go around locking people up who they think are suspicious. So yes, occasionally one of them slips through the net and successfully carries out an attack. The police then do everything they can to find the people responsible. It's not that difficult to understand.

I think you've summed up the problem in Europe perfectly. A constant state of heightened terror levels because of tolerating an ideology which breeds extremism.
