What I want is freedom, freedom to go to a concert and enjoy your music, the ability to live your life and allow others to live theirs.

Just not freedom to peacefully practice a religion, like the vast majority of Muslims do. Given the lengths people have gone to in the past (in this country, for example) for the right to practice their religious beliefs, I can't help wondering if prohibition of Islam might result in radicalisation on a scale never seen before.

Islam is as much to blame for these attacks as Catholicism was to blame for the IRA bombings during the troubles.

Nonsense. No member of the IRA ever claimed they were bombing or killing in the name of Catholicism or Christianity... let alone believed they were doing the work of Jesus. Religion was more a common denominator of the differing fractions.... that's not the case here at all. These people (even if only a minority of Muslims) are acting on their literal interpretations of certain Quranic verses.

For that reason I believe that Muslims (the ones who claim they do not support these attacks) need to be part of defeating ISIS (and other similar groups) as their silence is most likely being interrupted by the fundamentalists as support. If Muslims love their religion and see the Quran as their holy book, then they should stand up and condemn those killing in the name of it... en masse, otherwise western society too will start interrupting their silence as support.

The IRA had a point and a specific goal and were always open to negotiation.

Islamic extremism doesn't have anything but just hated driven by ideology. These days the IRA look like saints in comparison because they used to phone up to say where their bombs were.
Yeah, well that's a complete load of ****e. A kid killer is a kid killer.

Islam has no negotiation, its their way or death.
    No in between.

    Edit: Extreme Islam,sorry

Islam is an ideology which views me as an unequal. It's not that hard to understand. Unfortunately I have to experience this with my job. This is what living with Islam is like.

It's hard to understand when you're spouting complete and utter tripe. Ban all muslims from Ireland so you can live in a society that views men and women as equals. Sorry but living in close proximity to practising muslims doesn't mean you live under Sharia law.

Christianity views you as unequal. The Irish Constitution views your place as in the home.

Islam is a religion the same as being catholic and neither think too highly of women.

I take your point Ray, but to what extent should we tolerate the intolerant?

In fairness no it doesn't no terrorist can be viewed as saints or even justified when they bomb innocent civilians out minding their own business. They were ****ing cowards that deserved to die in prison and the same goes for the cnuts on the otherside AND the asshats in the British army that fired on civilians.

Oh yes,i dont believe they are saints at all.
Just that they could be negotiated with.
They gave warnings, they didnt want to kill but would if they had to.
Now thats no better than any other terrorists but its a better enemy to deal with than the ones we have now,who there is no negotiating with and whos only purpose is to kill everyone who doesnt adhere to their beliefs.

Exactly what? Stop baptising children? Tell people to give up the catholic church because it looks down on women?

Where have I blamed all Muslims? I honestly think you have a problem with comprehension, you pick a post and rant on and on about something I have never said.
Lets not kid ourselves. They're at war with the west while the west sit back, allow kids be blown up at a concert and do nothing incase they may be seen as intolerant to multi culturism and diversity. I have no idea what they need to do, but there's kids tonight who won't get home, for what? Having the audacity to go to a concert and enjoy themselves??

I think you have a problem with your brain.

You just type out endless contradictory waffle and then backtrack.

Who's at "war with the west"? Muslims? And we "do nothing" so we won't be seen as "intolerant to multi-culturism".

Is that a joke or something? Putting Catholics in same category as a religion that promotes marrying children, beating the women legally and to kill all opposing religions?
    Go way would ya.

So what were they bombing innocent people in the name of, and why has there not been calls for that to be banned?

    Islamic extremists.

They're not just at war with the west. They mostly kill other Muslims. They're fruitcakes. They don't care who they kill.

Your main point is that the authorities need to do more.

There wasn't a major terrorist attack in the UK since 2005. That's phenomenal hard work by police and intelligence communities during that period.

I don't know what more you want them to do.

Is the average 18 year Irish male a practising Catholic? No. Their Muslim counterpart is brainwashed by their religion. I'm not blind, I see this everyday. Maybe you don't have a job where you need to see these things but I do.

There was people killed in March. That was 2 months ago, FYI.
I want kids to be able to go to a music concert and come home safely.
I want people not to be on edge or fear for their lives if they hear a loud bang. Europe is on edge and can you blame them

Intolerance usually breeds more intolerance. Like everyone else here, I have no answers, but lashing out at innocent Muslims doesn't sound like something that would end well for anyone, except the extremists.

Yes, and some people here believe all muslims should be banned from somewhere (Ireland, UK, Europe?) because some people carry out awful acts in the name of Islam and IRA bombings were different because they weren't in the name of religion. They bombed in the name of a united Ireland, yet there's no calls for banning people who believe in a united Ireland. Banning muslims from our countries because a tiny subset of them do terrible things in the name of Islam is retarded.

If all muslims felt like these attacks were necessary and their religion said they should be carried out then you'd have a point, but the fact of the matter is that's so far off the mark.
