Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is the steep learning/difficulty curve as high as with something like dark souls or bloodborne? Tempted to pick it up, seems like a perfect fit on vita

No it's a lot easier to get into. The bosses are difficult but the regular enemies won't be causing you any trouble in the early stages. You'll be smashing heads right from the start.

Yomawari is getting a sequel, hopefully NISA will localize it again.

That would be amazing. I haven't started the first one yet but really looking forward to it

Nippon Ichi Software is working on a sequel to the PS Vita survival horror, Yomawari: Night Alone. What is Shin Yomawari in Japan will be headed Westward as Yomawari: Midnight Shadows in Fall 2017.

Oceanhorn is a great game, very Zelda like.

Zelda like is usually always a plus, has it been out long?

Has anyone managed to get remote play working with the Vita through the Internet? I've done it locally - i.e. in the next room - but the only couple of times I've tried from another location I've not been able to find the PS4. Is there a trick to it?

I know if it did work it wouldn't be great but I just need a good enough connection for an hour or so to enter a draft in Madden.

I was able to do it when I worked in Dublin last year. Stayed in Rathmines and had a 240MB Virgin Media connection into my flat, and worked just up at Harcourt Street and get a pretty decent connection going, there was about half a second of latency but it was doable if you were playing turn-based games or doing a Madden draft or any thing that does not require live action gameplay it's works a charm.

It worked for me without opening any of the ports on the network for either the PS4 or the Vita, but I imagine if that were done I imagine you could get a decent connection.

Is the Vita sold new anywhere any more? Can't seem to find one - I'm tempted to buy one but might just have to go for an used one.

Shame the memory card prices aren't coming down.

Best bet for a new one is online, amazon or somewhere, try cex or any 2nd hand electrical store for one too.

Body check crashed for me twice already during a four player game but no crash during a two player game :s.

City Shrouded in Shadow is no longer getting a Vita release.

Never heard of "13 Sentinels" before. Very intrigued

(Also, great username. Although I was never too fond of that level.)

Neither have I but in looking forward to it myself, hopefully we'll see more soon like a gameplay trailer.
For the swimsuit DLC? Yeah I guess so, should I add it to the OP? Hopefully I can edit it.

I actually got dizzy watching it on Game Done Quick and I needed a new username I took it as a sign lol :pac:

Just because of the swimsuit DLC or the style? I'm really not getting the vibe.

    Or Galgun Double Peace?
I was gonna say Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 but I forgot it didn't come over but it does have English language options.

Anybody ever buy a memory card off of Alibaba.com?

Most people will have already played it, but Undertale is coming to the Vita, it is actually a perfect fit for the system.

I haven't so I might play it this way now the hype has died down a lot.

Played both on the PC, so do not know how the porting went, but they are both very good games, Darkest Dungeon can be very difficult at first till you get the hang of the game mechanics but when it clicks its very addictive and Salt and Sanctuary was one of the best action rpgs of last year.

They both play grand but DD is a couple of updates behind the p.c version.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,870 ✭✭✭✭Generic Dreadhead

Played DD on the Vita on holidays.
It's serviceable, but by christ make sure you download the update (I didn't) or it crashes everytime your inventory fills up.
And the updates on PC you're missing are actually Nerfs for90% of the trinkets.
I stopped playing the updated PC version cause they borked it.
The DLC is out on August 22nd on PS4/Vita and it's cross play/cross save which is neat :)
Also, it's one of the 20 best games I've ever played in 28 years of gaming

    Yup.

I got it at Launch on PC (have the game on both), but it was imbalances as f**k so took a break while the iron it out

DD doesn't play that well on the Vita imo. Everything is so small and fiddly. There's also the added temptation to hurl the Vita into outer space when things don't go so well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,160 ✭✭✭tok9

I liked it on Vita. I think you're probably right that everything is a bit small.

I love the mechanics in that game but I have to admit that I found it to be a serious grind. I think I put in around 15-20 hours and I left it at that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,577 ✭✭✭DeSelby83

I ended up getting S&S and loving it. Can't wait to get stuck into it. I've beaten the first boss so that's progress

Playing Tomb Raider The Definitive Edition on PS4.

Not getting to play on the telly much at the moment so playing it remotely for the most part on the Vita and I have to say it plays really well.

    Such an under-utilised function.

I have my Vita for a couple of years at this stage and just got a PS4 recently, I will have to set up Report Play.

Is it useable when out and about? Could I set up a personal hotspot on my phone and play while commuting? Or it is really just for at home on good wifi?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

If your PS4 has a good connection (hardwired preferably) and you've got a strong mobile signal you could try it but I think you'd need a certain type of game to minimise the issues. I remote-played through the internet for the first time recently and it was way better than I expected but even then the picture went fuzzy a few times as the signal dropped.

Something like 'The Walking Dead' might work through a personal hotspot but don't expect to be able to reliably play a shooter.

I was playing far cry primal down stairs on my vita and it looked beautiful.
