Still cant update Leap card via the all cos of the position/functionality of the NFC. Its a real turnoff on the 10.
    Might switch back to Samsung

That's definitely one thing I've enjoyed since getting rid of my 10. I can actually top up my Leap Card again, instead of having to use one of the other phones or tablets in the house.

    Something about sandwiches

I've been doing some NFC stuff in work. I've been using my HTC 10 on NFC readers to test an app, and it works perfect. So I've noticed when the HTC 10 is the "card", it works perfect, but when it's acting as the "reader", it just doesn't work.
The dedicated NFC readers would be more powerful than the chip in a Leap Card so I'm wondering is it that the phones aluminium shell blocks out the signal. Or maybe it is the positioning of the antenna. I had an old Leap card that I bent in half and wrapped it around the top of the phone. Thats the only time i've even been able to read a Leap card on the 10.

I can get mine and a few other peoples' leap cards to work with my HTC 10, it just has to be held in a very very specific place on the phone to work.

    Where???

    Where???

Lined up so the top right of the card (photo side up) is aligned with the top right of the phone (phone also facing up), phone in front, card behind. You usually have to press fairly hard as well. It's basically millimetre accuracy, and can take a while, but I always get it to work in the end.

I also have a thin phone case, which helps in having the back of the phone flat rather than the camera sticking out; makes it easier to hold the card to the back of the phone.

My battery was at 22% by 2pm today. Progressively worsening in the last couple of months and I hadn't downloaded any new apps. Anyway, just finished a factory reset and restored just the apps I actually use. Will be interesting to see if there is an improvement.
Am still hoping for something good from the HTC 11 launch on May 16th.

My girlfriend's battery the last few days is plummeting too, going to bed at 11ish last night was 90% at 6am this morning it was 32%.
I checked battery usage and nothing untoward, biggest users was the android systems and screen, I've since put her screen to power saver mode.
Locations and bluetooth both off etc....
This is hugely disappointing, have gotta say my s7 edge the battery is superb and I'm a heavy gamer (Mortal Kombat which is a very graphical high quality game).
If I could afford the S8 I'd even upgrade but can't justify almost a grand a year!

After my factory reset, battery has significantly improved. After 12hrs since charge, battery was 20% and that included about 3hrs screen time.

3 hours screen time is shocking

Anyone reckon this phone would be still worth a go at €549 direct from htc Ireland?

Not really, I paid not much over €600 a year ago. The U 11 is announced next week, and there's rumours it will be available straight away, so I'd wait for that and see what happens with the 10 price

Agree... Mine is still perfect... In fact if you wanna buy it let me know :) it's unlocked and had tempered screen protector and back skin from day one.. Rhinoshield bumper.. White with gold back... Thinking of changing for a one plus.

Can't fault the htc ten... Not being able to see screen when wearing sun glasses is a little annoying... Battery life is fine... Nice phone size.. I wouldn't be a buyer at 549...

Im pondering the U11 but I have some software specific questions might be better to ask in this thread.

Im not sure if these are baked into Android by default, so does htc do double tap to wake? Double tap the status bar or a empty screen space to sleep? And double tap on the recents button to switch between apps?

That's alot of double tapping! But very handy things iv gotten used to.

Double tap to wake, yes. You can then double tap to sleep again from the lock screen.

Double tap recents is a stock android N feature, so yes it has that as well.

If you use a custom ROM you can do a whole lot more double tapping.

The status bar thing isn't on the 10 by default, but is in custom ROMs.

How are people finding Android Pay performance on their 10s? My bank just got on board.

Yet another US only update today. HTC must be very short-handed on the software side.

Meanwhile, the Nextbit Robin and the Moto Z Play get 7.1.1!

My HTC 10 is acting the maggot again and not syncing emails for me.
I have them set to push mail and Auto Sync is turned on

I can't remember is there anything else that should be done?

Oh yea and I have also turned off the silly + thing that seems to limit data

Anyone else experience issues regarding notifications ont heir phone
I posted above but I've also noticed other apps not pushing the notices through. Sometimes whats app will give me a message telling me i may have notifications
teamer just doesnt send me the notices
    email, just doesnt work

with all above, i need to actualy go into the app before i get notifications through

im sure other apps are probably similar so im now guessing it is some sort of a push failure

    You're not using power saver?

    its turned off

i went in there to look and i also have changed a number of apps to run even when power saver is on

i have noticed that power saver does turn itself on though a lot, especially when the battery drains and it seems to stay on even when it is recharged.

i do switch my phone off at night time and would charge it then generally.

BTW, power saver is that little + thing in a circle isn't it?

    I don't think it's a + in a circle, not sure what that is.

Go to settings > power > power saver to see if it's on. There's also usually in icon in your status bar if it's on. I think if you click in the battery icon in your pulldown, you can access it as well.

    Thanks so much Basil.
I was getting no notification in the status bar to say it was on which I guess is why I thought it was off.

The + sign seems to be a data saver as opposed to a power saver.

    The emails are flooding in..

The only thing I have noticed I don't automatically get anymore notification that I have new email - had this problem before but can't remember how it was sorted.
EDIT: I'm half asleep this evening :D I only see the other posts above. I turned off power saver and sent a test email and I got notification on my phone.

Weather Underground app widget no longer works using the standard widget - it works if I use HD Widget.

Is that Nougat or had it got Nougat?

It's had Nougat since around Xmas. Probably 7.1. would laugh if it's just the security patches that some people seem to be crying about :pac:

Google camera app with working HDR+ ported. Should work for any device running SD 820, 821 or 835. Might be worth trying for you guys.

Hoping somebody can advise me? My battery level is now hitting 50% and I'm getting a low battery warning, bizarre.

Can't see any power settings that would have caused this alert to come up?

It's started the last couple of days...

Settings > power > power saver > change the percentage from 50%?
