Does anyone know when the embargo is lifted for reviews?

It premiered tonight in London, is that open to the press as well?

Most of the reviews for this will probably be headlined "The food ain't that bad, baby"

This quick and tiny review from a forum on Reddit. Not really a spoiler but I'll wrap it in tags anyway, except for the last line because ffs what is with the heavy handed advertising campaign!. Trying my best to avoid most of it but I have seen that prologue.

Another beautifully crafted masterpiece from Ridley Scott.
The atmosphere was much darker than previous one - Prometheus.
Aliens were less than those from 'Aliens' in number but still a lot.
Connection between Prometheus and Covenant felt bit missing but maybe they left place for next movie.
DO NOT WATCH VIDEOS SUCH AS PROLOGUE: CROSSING AND TV SPOTS BECAUSE THEY CONTAIN A LOT OF SPOILERS.

The trailer for Alien Covenant really illustrates how obnoxious all these reboots and remakes and prequels are at this stage, a scene showing the crew of the Nostromo ripoff having a meeting around a table in the galley just like Alien followed by a scene of them finding the same crashed ship followed by a scene of a scientist wondering whats going on with a facehugger egg slowly opening in front of him, its completely ridiculous, its so fcuking boring. I turned Ghost in the Shell off halfway through the other night, I just couldn't be bothered.

And the only alternative is Marvel formula mush or the latest DC embarrassment...

Well perhaps if people like you actually were bothered, and went to the cinema and paid the price of admission, film makers/studios wouldn't be so desperate. However, the points you have raised are ridiculous anyway. It's all part of the same story/universe. Like saying the Star Wars sequels shouldn't have light sabres or droids....

Oh, you illegally download movies, why should Hollywood give a **** about your opinions or complaints? They're hardly going to try to appease people who aren't paying.

Oh yes, Hollywood really needs a few extra thousands of dollars from pirates, on top of the hundreds of milions (billions for Disney) they already make.

Look, you pirate, you pirate, but if you're not paying for product I don't think you have a right to dictate how movies should be. I think you lose that right.

How do you know if a movie is worth seeing ?
Why did you download/stream ghost in the shell?

No making a pointless multi-scene ripoff is not the same as telling a new story in the same universe. And I would say the Star Wars creators should try and think of something new besides another Death Star ripoff that needs destroying.

With Prometheus they used the juggernaut spaceship as this had caught people's imagination in the original Alien movie. It's in alien covenant as it's a sequel to Prometheus. I don't see anything obnoxious or unimaginative about it. In fact I thought Prometheus was s breath of fresh air. I have high hope for covenant.

They spend millions making these movies, then the same people who stream or download them for free, criticise the studios for trying every trick in the book to Try get people into the cinema

Why did you stream/download ghost in the shell?

So the reviews look promising, despite the trailer overload, I am super excited to see this on thursday

Few reserved enough reviews flying around now.

Not reading them, but impressions seem low key.
Still looking forward to it, though a rewatching of Prometheus in the last few days has seriously dimmed my appreciation.

Seen a review today that gave it above average which is good. I have not read it will read it after I see the film. Just looked at the amount of stars it gave.

Anyone know if the People paper has reviewed it yet? Did not get to see it.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

How bad is Prometheus exactly? Is it worth watching?

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Ah I'm no big fan but it's definitely worth watching to make your own mind up. For all the bad writing and nonsense monsters it's a stunning film to look at at least.

Michael Fassbender seems to be the mvp according to reviews

It's totally disconnected from the original trilogy. In a bit like the way Logan attempted same but both didn't work. In itself it wasn't even good. Worst Fassbender performance I've seen him in. He looked like a robot and he acted like one.

So you mean he played his part perfectly?

It's worth watching and it's a lot better than the boring and crap Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection imo.

Prometheus is worth a watch: unbelievable visuals, some neat ideas and Fassbender save it from being a complete bust. But, ultimately, it isn't a satisfying movie. There's too many plot holes, uniniteresting characters and just a general level of nonsensical rubbish for it to really work.

    Yes it's worth watching
A really original sci fI movie with some big ideas, with possibly the biggest sci fI production values you are likely to see until they are surprised by Covenant (judging by the trailers)

the criticism of this movie is childish. Why did character A run in a straight line, why did scientist try to interact with a new species......, if you don't like a movie fair enough, but at least have a real argument.

From my own experience, the people I know who didn't like Prometheus, loved arrival and Interstellar, which are good movies, but I could tear those movies completely to shreds, way more ridiculous concepts and script moments, but I wouldn't bother cos no movie is perfect, and if we did that with every movie we wouldn't like any of them

I can't offer a real argument because the "childish" criticisms convinced me that on no account should I ever watch it.
