How is everyone finding the OnePlus 3T with regards network signal?

I'm noticing it's dropping to "No Service" a lot sooner than other handsets would.

For example, my other half is on the same network and in weaker coverage areas where her phone will have 1-2 bars of signal, mine will just drop to "No Service".

The handset I had before also never dropped off the network, I've only started noticing coverage problems since switching to the 3T.

I had a 5s before getting the 3t, I found the 3t much better than the iphone 5s. In an area with average phone coverage, I find the 3t much better.

I'm no help to you either. I went from an S6 to the 3T and find coverage brilliant.

    Damnit :(

    Guessing it's a hardware fault.

Time to see how OnePlus customer support fairs! :(

I wouldn't panic yet, try the SIM card in the other slot and see if it's any better, after that try getting a new SIM from your provider.

Tried both of the above - no change.

If anyone happens to be offloading their 3 or 3T, I'd appreciate being given a shout on it.

The worst thing about having the 3t is that the screen is so nice and big that I can never go back to a cheaper phone with a smaller screen! I might sell it for the 5 when it comes out, depends on what price it's going to be I suppose.

Same here. My wife's iPhone 5 is a midget I hate trying to look at the screen on that compared to OP3T, I also use a big Samsung Note 4 for work

I had the 5s before, went to sell it a week after getting the 3T and couldn't believe the difference going back to it to reset it!

I find it varies from firmware to firmware. I too suffered from poor coverage, specifically in the canteen at work, but it's gotten marginally better with the latest firmware. It's gone from complete dropout/2g to edge/3g coverage.

The Wi-Fi signal strength has also improved in the hard to reach spots of my house, no more switching to 4g unnecessarily.

Battery life has plummeted accordingly adding some weight to my theory. Of course this may all just be in my head and doesn't really help you if you're already running the latest firmware.

My signal is better on my 3T than my previous S5. I couldn't get signal at all in my kitchen with the S5, but the 3T gets grand signal all over the house.

Would that not be a network issue rather than phone ?

Not sure but it's the same sim. I thought the phone antenna was how you got signal from the sim but like I said, not sure.

Just sold mine, didn't hang around long!

    Why selling so quickly?

    Why selling so quickly?
The main reason I'm selling is the Bluetooth media streaming doesn't work in my car for the last couple of months after the last couple of months and I use Spotify a lot in the car.

Do you mind me asking what it went for? I've also good an additional dash charger that I never used.

I only sold mine because my new Blackberry KEYone is arriving in the morning. Otherwise I'd be upgrading to the OP5.

@1jcdub, I got 420 for it. It's the midnight black, 128gb version. Had a few genuine cases with it too.

These can't bluetooth stream to your car?

Jaysus, that throws a massive spanner in the OnePlus 5 works for me then.
They can stream music but the last 2 updates have left it completely broken as in I was able to to stream before the updates, but even then it was only 50% of the time, very random.
Going to go with a Sony XZ Premium or the HTC 11 unless Nokia release their phone soon and it's exceptional.

I've identical phone and mine streams Bluetooth flawless to my car and the wife's car

Same here, Bluetooth auto connects every time and all calls and streaming music are flawless. With all updates.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 965 ✭✭✭1jcdub

It won't stream to my 12 Audi, the wife's Parrott hands free and my beats pill. The telephone function works with the parrot and Audi without fault. The media streaming is well documented in the OP forum
