Was very strange to hear them talking about the dortmund bus bombing at great length without asking the question 'why'? Why on earth would a football team be targeted by a bomb attack in their own prosperous city? The glossing over of the alleged perpetrator having arrived with the surge of migrants in 2015/6 was a quick one.

Are we that jaded by Islamic terrorism already that we, like UEFA, respond to it as if it were a beer can being thrown?

And then the next day Ken talks incredulously about why people would vote for Marine Le Pen. I honestly feel like that John Goodman big lebowski meme, like has the whole world lost the plot or what.

They went through the reasons for the bombing on last Fridays show (21st April). It was best to wait, rather than jumping to conclusions.

I'm as surprised as anyone to be posting this, but Miguel Delaney wasn't bad on Monday's football pod.

The James Mcmorrow tune was a nice addition

Sound quality was shocking. His line kept drifting in and out. Was listening in the car and could barely make it out at times.

Ah, these things happen, but I was just pleasantly surprised to be able listen to what Miguel had to say, rather being compelled to hit fast forward as usual.

The Terry McDonald interview was fantastic. Really enjoyed it. First interview in a long time where I wished they had kept going for longer.

I hope you learned a valuable lesson about jumping to conclusions here Wojtek :pac:
It happens in every shooting in America on right wing sites and messageboards. Find some muslim angle somewhere and that's the headline. When it turns out a week later to be a white American citizen, just ignore it. But it doesn't matter, they got their headline and bit of outrage! Fair play to SC for not jumping to conclusions and speculation and actually waiting till facts are in, it was a nice detailed view into what actually happened rather than "isis claimed responsibility" crap.

I unsubscribed today. Mcdevitt was getting too annoying for me (personal taste). The musical outros are beyond self-indulgent at this stage and reek of trying too hard to 'be cool' with their eclectic music taste. Really taking away from my enjoyment of the content. I would just prefer a squarespace ad in between transitions instead of that ****e. Still enjoying Ken and Murph's contributions. I feel guilty for unsubscribing at this stage but so many other decent pods out there in the form of Football Weekly, Sunday Supplement and The Stand (not a big Dunphy fan but enjoying his pod) that the extra Second Captains' podcasts aren't doing enough for me. Gonna stick to the Monday pods and see how I go from there. Moany rant over.

On a side note, I have been really enjoying Joe Molloy on Off the Ball. I went away from that show from years after Second Captain's lads left but have been drawn back in by Joe. Really good interviewer.

Can't be having the Sunday supplement on audio.

The croissants and orange juice make that show.

Not sure about other formats but annoyingly on iTunes the past few days when you go to download the latest episode the entire back catalogue of episodes downloads. Right pain in the arse.

Sunday Supplement used to be absolute dog****, featuring journalists from the raggiest of rags.

    Is it not that now?

Listened to the terry mcdermot came across as brilliant. Real down to earth lad.
Thought ken's interview was poorish almost sounded like he was arguing/contradictin mcdermot on trival points..

    Eoin a much better interviewer..
Ken (probably) better at klopp drawings

Definitely more to the interview than just the glory years at Liverpool. Highlights a time when footballers just wanted to play football & loved doing so, without the circus that surrounds the sport now. Well worth a listen.

Cool, the lads are standing in for Tubridy on Monday morning radio.

Of course, I'll be asleep, but I'll listen back.

A sharp drop in numbers again before the payment. Think they lost around 250-300.

How do you measure the "sharp drop off in quality" if you are deleting them without listening to them?
