    Glad its not just me..
I posted about battery issues back in March...
I dont get near as long out of the battery as I did when I got the phone first.

I was having issues with battery too, read on the oneplus forum where someone mentioned turning off screen-off gestures - seems to have done the trick for me, back to what it was when I first got the phone.

Did you turn off all screen gestures?

Probably better off turning off all of them. I presume if even one of them is on then the touchscreen remains active when the phone is locked. If none of them are selected, I'd say the touchscreen disables itself when the screen is turned off.

It seems to be a lot better today but I'll turn off all gestures and see how it goes.

Just the 'screen-off' gestures. System gestures still turned on.

    That's what I've done too.

Oops. That's actually what I meant. The V for flashlight, O for camera, double tap for screen on and < ll and > for music playback.

Yep just since the last update which I updated to on Sunday. It's weird cos there's no real battery hog app appearing in the stats

Anyone else finding battery life has gone terrible since the last two updates? I'm almost back to iPhone territory now, charging every day or at best a day and a half. Selecting battery in settings doesn't show anything.

yeah, absolutely dire today. starting getting low about 2pm today. usually goes to about 10pm. really really bad now.
    jca wrote: »
I charged mine last night so it was 100% this morning, I hardly used it all day as I got a rush of blood to the head and washed and put a coat of polish on the car, had to put it on the charger earlier as it was down to 12%:mad: maybe it's an app that needs to be updated.

Same here seems to be android system running in the background cleared the phone cache no change.
First issue I've had with the phone tbh

I haven't updated in about 5 months (don't ask why, keep putting it off) and I've also noticed serious disimprovement in battery in the last few days.

Very simple solution to this fellas,

Backup your photos on Google Photos. Backup your apps to google.

Then simply run a factory reset.

I did that this morning, yes my battery was bad after update yesterday. And it took me about 15 minutes to get back to normal.

The device is faster and battery is as it was previously.

Sometimes updates can be poor as it sits on top of previously data in the temp storage. A simple factory reset is really really worthwhile doing.

Most phones stay on for months on end, some folks dont even do a reboot.

God no id only system restore as a last
resort. Would have to rebuild all my home screens restrict apps again resign into all my apps absolute pain.

Does anyone know of a cheapish Google Cardboard type VR headset that the One Plus 3 fits into?

Probably should have checked before buying but what's the story with VAT, duty etc? The receipt on the email they've sent (I haven't received the phone yet) doesn't include VAT.

Am I going to be hit with extra charges and is there a way to claim VAT back, as I'm buying it as a company phone (due to the dual sim)

If you buy from Oneplus then the VAT is paid, you have nothing to worry about.

Use Nova launcher and back it all up.

Reset is poxy easy at this point.

ok. so if i do a factory reset, will it still be on the latest update when it restarts? is this the same as a clean install? i guess its not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,579 ✭✭✭sioda

At least an hour of faffing about to get it to the way I like it.

Things seem to be better though

If you love sms store them to sim.

For notes use Google keep or evernote.

At this point people shouldn't have to care about loosing stuff there is so many free cloud options for backup

I found all that out afterwards:pac:
My first android and was told do a reset by oneplus support for an issue i was having.
    The reset didn't fix it.
I just assumed when I was backing up my apps that the info on them all would be stored.
    I'll know better next time.

Battery life is back to normal now. I might have been causing issues. I normally charge at night with the phone turned off, in the morning I unplug it and turn it on. Yesterday evening I had to go into work, the phone was on 68% so I stuck it on the charger and it updated every app. It's been brilliant since.

Mine has improved back to normal too. Did nothing different either.

Anyone know what the story is with the Black Apricot case being sold out for so long? Only four of the six cases are available to order.

I find that just before a Google play services update the phone tends to have worsening battery life as the play services wake locks start popping up.
Just like a few days back.. After a restart it sorts itself out and then I see the updates to the play store ...

Hey guys, i posted on the main thread before seeing this here so Im assuming that will get deleted anyway, Im not sure how to.

So I Bought my one plus 3t about 3 months ago and just dropped it off my bed there. There is a crack going across the screen and everything underneath it is just black. Covers about 2/3 of the screen. I adore the phone but my god it does not have a tough screen at all, dropped it about 2 feet off my bed.

Ive emailed one plus there but if anyone has any experience or suggestions on the matter that would be great, thanks!

btw the top part of the screen still works, can enter apps etc and swipe across and the home button thingy works too so the damage isnt disastrous, the phone is completely unusable however
