Aren't the PP renewals up end of this month ?

Anyways getting the last bit of value out of the 2016 one I'll be heading into da'nell Thursday more than likely miss the 1st game, but Ballyboden and OPER should make the journey worthwhile.

Heading up to Garristown Friday night for hopefully a cracker between Skerries and Fingallians, finally Fins get to try themselves out in the top tier after so many heartbreaks in the IFC, nice young team too plenty of scope to improve along the way.

If my luck holds with Mrs D, I'll chance the 2 games in the Naul Saturday in the IFC - might even bring her along and double up as date night

Yeah, DCB just twittered about it.

Sometimes I wonder if the lucky Mr D is really fully aware, of just how much she has been smiled upon in the lottery of life. :D

the chap in Dorset Street punched holes in my PP passes when I was collecting tkts for league final, so be interesting to see what happens at weekend!

Cheers PD .. I mightn't be in the country for the renewals so I'll get one of the lads to keep an eye on that.

... I look at you at your prawn and oyster festivals, the afternoon artisan teas, the retreat to serenity on the hill of howth.. and think we should be more like that... But my one heads off to fairyhouse with her posse for the last 2 days leaving me scuttled with the god forbids... Bloody right I'm off to football the next few days :D

Yeah didn't quite understand the significance of that punching the holes .. PP expires April so you'd hope it the end of April based on the renewals... I'll bring a tenner just in case!

Sad b@stard that I am I like keeping stuff like the passes and tickets so was not best pleased when he vandalised them. His explanation had something to do with ticket touts, to add insult to injury!

Ok, I'm sorry....but sitting in PP of a fine April evening, watching Galvin Klein do his burpees, just feels WEIRD !

I have a few dozen oysters & a half decent bottle of Bolly '74 on ice, behind the church end goal, if anyone's feeling peckish.

Bit of a sickener for Boden. They should have been out of sight.

Plunketts did finish strongly though in fairness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

Great second half from Plunketts. They were sloppy as heck in the first half, was expecting a rout, but they really turned the ship around after the peno. Ref let an awful lot go, but the last 10 mins were a feckin' game of Monopoly. Basquel came on for Clayton, after he got injured.

Anyone at the Kilmacud v Erins Isle game?

10-12 to 0-7 is crazy. Isles must have done something before the game to have warranted a beating like that. Or was it a case of Kilmacud being dicks and piling it on? Even if a team switches off, the opposition usually ease up and start taking points.

    10 goals is humiliating.

Take the goals out of it and they only lost by a few points!

Careful there Nidgey, talk of 10 goals in one game, is liable to make a Donegal mans head explode. :P

We're happy enough with just getting 3.

Yeah crazy type of game .. looked from the get go as tho BB were going to give them a right trimming but OPER got a foothold with Herrons goal and looked back in it, then it changed all over again BB just too quick and pacey for them.

Fair play to OPER they're dogged but BB just collapsed early 2nd half and couldn't get the rhythm back

Yeah there's a number of mismatches in the early round with the draw being split with A and B pots. I was at a game last year that was very similar to this one - it wasn't helped by the fact that 6-7 lads who were dual players didn't turn up for what was going to be a hammering anyway.

Being honest I've little time for crokes across all age groups - but that's bitter experience on my part

Sad for Isles who were once among the elite. Getting serial hammerings now in SFC over past few years.

Oh, Crokes would just love all of that, you may be certain ..

Entertaining game in Garristown tonight - Skerries ran out 3 point winners. Skerrirs 2nd goal just gave them the impetus to push on for the win. Flynner was very quiet, tried him at half back, midfield and full forward to no avail

I see some of the county U21s never togged for their clubs tonight.
    Poor form.

Said it before, and I'll say it again, but having the 32 clubs in Rnd 1 is madness. Every year, there are the ritual hammerings. How are clubs going to progress, if they only ever have one game against decent oppostion, before their year is over? (League doesn't count, as no one is at full strength during the league.)

Split them into two divisions, make relegation and and promotion real possibilities and, introduce some sort of back door. God knows how they'll manage that, given the log jam of fixtures that is there already. But it just ain't right that for 16 senior clubs, and most of the best players in the country, their year is effectively over in mid April.

    Ok, rant over....highlights of Boden/SOPER

    We've got 4 across all grades :P:D

I don't know how many we have. I only have two hands. :P

Fantastic comeback from the MF team today against Meath at PP in round one of the LMFC. 10 down at HT. They fought back too bring it too ET and then ran out 2 points winners in the end.

Nice bit of revenge after the thumping from Meath last year at the QF stage.

Was out in Blanch IT yesterday for the local derby, whoever gets Brigids in the next round shouldn't worry to much. Further proof Paddy Andrews can't score goals, hit a penalty wide.

Hey !!! Poor Paddy, genuinely I hope he scores a bunch in a big game and that one is put to bed

Remember when we all thought Costello couldn't score points under pressure.

I'd love to see that happen too, I'm just glad it wasn't yesterday ;-)

Anyone know when the draw for round 2/round 1 of the B championship is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,665 ✭✭✭Bonniedog

I can't see what all the fuss is about 21s playing for clubs. DCB have short enough window of opportunity to play first rounds with months long suspension until senior county team finish. Postponing last weeks games because of 21s AI would have meant it turning into farcical situation assuming seniors are still involved to the end.

Exactly, the problem isn't the 21's. The whole club calendar needs a major overhaul.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Agreed. It's not right. Personally, Id be of the mind that any lad who refuses to play for their club in a knockout championship game should be dropped from the county panel.
