I just can't get my head around eating fish and no other meat on Good Friday, I mean what's the difference in fish and chicken FFS.
We had chicken and ham in a creamy chilly sauce with pasta and it was awesome.

Sure years ago people didn't eat meat on a Friday...

I didn't have meat, as I think for two days a year tis no great effort. But having said that, if we had meat I think to not eat it and waste it would be a bigger sin...

But I am very a-la-carte in my religion to be honest...

I drank half a bottle of scotch last night because i was so tired....at least that's my excuse.
Lambing season seems to be hard on scotch in our house.

I think slowly and steadily my religion had slipped away.
    I support
The kids in their religion, my youngest is getting communion this year, but I won't lie to her when she asks me a straight question.

She asked me did I think Jesus really survived for 40 days in the desert without food. I had to say I don't think he did but that they exaggerated the length of time for the sake of the story and to make a point.
You can imagine how nervous I was at the preparation Communion mass two weeks ago when the priest gets all the kids on the alter with the mike and starts asking questions, thankfully he didn't get round to my girl but there was a huge chance she would have given a very direct answer to a question :)

    David, where exactly in Holland?
I suppose it's an educational trip.

Yeah it is. We're going to see a poultry farm, piggery, dairy farm, meeting with the chief agricultural economist in rabo bank. We're heading to a few places in Holland. Going for 4 days with a group and I don't know anyone else going.

Same as you, no meat or drink yesterday. I cooked eggs and OH had fish for lunch, toast and beans for the tae.
It is only two days of the year and I'm a bit of a traditionalist so I try to observe them if I remember. Other than attending funerals the two fast days are about the some total of my religious expression.

I've a 21st to go to tonight and sods law there's two cows just hanging on to calves for the last two days. Thought agitating the slurry would bring them on but nooooo :pac: One is full enough of calf so want to be here for her, plus she used to be really wild but in the last 2 weeks I'm able to scratch her all over and hug her and everything, hope it' not a sign that she'll need help!!

Don't think I ate meat or fish yesterday, wasn't avoiding them but just didn't eat them, porridge for breakfast, lentils & beans for dinner and then a big salad for tea!

Kellys hero's is a top notch film. Something a bit more of a thriller than the smurfs would be lovely

Great win for Galway U21 footballers tonight. Beat a highly fancied Kerry side. They face Dublin in the last ever U21 final now.

Interestingly. Any time Galway came out of Connaught they went on to win the All Ireland at U21 level.
