    You're one of those,eh?

    :pac:

I superset when I'm told to by my coach (cos supersets make complete sense). I don't listen to music (cos my gym is class based), look in mirrors (gym has none) or wear hats (messes my beautiful hair), if that's what you mean?

But I do ask people to logically defend bullshīt claims like the ones you've made. Which evidently, you're unable to do so case closed, I guess!

Wow! Why so confrontational in what is clearly a thread to vent about meaningless things that irritate you for no reason

Cos it was a meaningless thing that irritated me for no reason...?

Did you mean to say it wasn't a meaningless thing that irritated you?

Genuine question. I may just be reading your post wrong.

Gah, autocorrect being a jerk. I was irritated (probably way too strong a word) by the OP's annoying gym behaviour ie. making weird judgments against people based on really nothing, and drawing false correlations between the way people dress etc and how they act. That kinda toxic judgement is one of the worst things about mainstream gyms; much worse than most of the stuff mentioned in this thread.

How do you want me to "defend" my claims?

I happen to think the hat-and-headphone-wearing types are less likely to put the equipment back after them because they have an image issue that means they have to try and look "hardcore" at all times...and posing around the gym doesnt extend to putting weights or dumbells back on racks.

Thats my observation..you seem to be in some sort of Aerobics class so you wouldnt be seeing these sorts as much as i would..they infest the weights room.

The amount of people who seem to care about what everyone else in the gym is doing or wearing is mental.

Do your workout, stop being so invested in what everyone else is going and we'll all be better off.

    Ahhh.....
Is this not the annoying gym behaviour thread?
I think the whole point is to give out about what annoys us about what others in the gym are doing, or wearing for that matter.
You're not exactly silent in this thread yourself.

It's about annoying gym behaviour. Not annoying gym attire. I don't understand how a majority of the stuff being posted about could annoy people though. Each to their own...I just don't get it

So, annoying gym behaviour is wearing a hat?

I thought the thread was more along the lines of annoying things people do in the gym that effects others - not putting weights back, not letting people work in etc...

I can live with the hat hate it's the supersets and listening to music that gets me, is that not almost everyone :)

It's anything. Being annoyed by people not putting weights back is just as trivial as being annoyed by someone wearing a hat when you think about it in the grand scheme of things.

I just read/post on this thread so I get reassurance their are other people as mental as me to be irritated by these things.

    Another personal experience:

In the gym late last week, can't remember which day. Needed dumbbells but there was a foreign guy who had the two I wanted beside the squat rack. He was with four other foreign lads and they all loved talking so when I went up to the squat rack and asked was he done with them he replied, "no", and continued on talking. That was fine so I kind of sat around for a second or two as I wanted to do tricep pulldowns followed immediately by curls. He finishes his conversation, does some squats and walks over to another leg machine where he has another full-blown conversation with his mates. The fact that he didn't need them and couldn't be bothered to let me know he was done with them annoyed me so I just walked over and took them.

Some time later, a guy was doing leg extensions and the same foreign guy went over and told him he wasn't done. Fair enough but the fact that he walks away from the machines so often and has a fully-blown conversation with people does give the impression he's finished with it! This guy went back on the leg extensions and continued the same shtick, finished a set followed by five minute conversation. Leaving the other lad waiting the whole time.

I just couldn't get over these guys. At times one lad would be doing an exercise and the other four guys would huddle around him and watch.

Another thing, a lad I once went to school with was having conversations the whole time with this girl before and after sets and the whole shebang. A while later I'm sat on the shoulder press machine after a set having a glimpse at my phone and he goes, "working hard, eh?" in a totally sarcastic manner. Ticked me right off.

Well I've developed the habit of muttering "Hatty ****ing Winthrop" everytime i see someone wearing a hat in the gym.

I won't lie hat wearers do bother me, I wouldn't mind a wooly hat if it was cold though.

I'm not racist it's just that all of my gym issues have involved people from outside of the country unfortunately.

I think the point was to list annoying behaviour, not a free pass to list anything that annoys you.

If I'm to annoyed by fat people in my gym, Asian people, women in the weights area, old people etc. I don't really get to rant about them in this thread. Well, I can I suppose, it just makes me a dickhead.

If your going around the gym muttering to yourself I'm surprised you haven't been mentioned here already.

Yes, it's actually the only reason I go to the gym. Like other normal people.

More annoying behaviour, people leaving their massive gearbags, usually GAA ones, on the benches in the changing rooms. Gym Im in, changing room is quite small, why can people not place their bags on the floor or in the units provided, rather than just dumping on the benches taking up space and away they go.

In a certain gym in Swords half the lockers have no lock on them. Yet imagine my surprise when I open them that they are chock full of gear. It can take ages to find an actually empty locker. FFS get a lock.

i think ive posted this before but again...
to the 'bro' who attempted to 'help' me while i was using those bastarding battle ropes last night,
im super glad one of the men told you to **** off and leave me alone.
shouting... whip it, go on whip it... at me across a gym is humiliating, im doing my fccking best,  those ropes are like a million pounds and i only have little arms, im 'whipping'  as much as I can.
