Sold this bullock this week, 16 months old next week. 620kgs €1420.

About 1.2 kg/ day from birth and a bullock good going. Next lad will need a beef price of at least 4.2/kg to make money out of him

He is an absaloute Miller. but the next lad won't have a bean out of him even though he'll leave a hell of a Cheque and a 500kg ish u grade carcass well under 30 months.

I am glad I bought all those dear Friesian's last November. White Clover hard to see how you could make a margin on them. If selling them as stores next autumn they will need to put on 250 kgs and make over 2/kg LW to leave any margin. At present a hereford killing 330kgs would net about 1270 euro. He be after eating maybe 180-200 euro in ration alone.

I didn't buy them at all, I nearly got a weakness as they passed 750. They were March 16 cattle nicely done if not a little too warm.

The lad that reared them got a good turn.

Did he die or was he killed? I would have fed him on another while before killing.

I have suspicion that they'd be worth little more in August than now with the extra kilos but who knows..

I'd leave them for the Summer but that is what would work for me, it might not work or suit you.

Thank God for Mid Tipp and their full list.

You get no idea from the Journal or the Examiner of what a lot of Cattle are making, the best and the biggest numbers all the time.

That is a very comprehensive report (which I was look up last week) and I looked at it last week and spoke to a dealer who said that the Fr cattle at that Mart are mostly P grades...so if yours are out of Br Fr its not a true reflection on their value.
