just got my PS2 back and there is no proper scart lead with it.
Anything wrong with this cheapo ebay job?
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Real-RGB-Scart-Audio-Video-AV-HDTV-Lead-For-PLAYSTATION-PS1-PS2-PS3-Games-/152021730064?hash=item2365338310:g:JZMAAOSwoudW7cun

not sure about ps2 but some of the more expensive ones have some sort of resistor/capacitor setup close to console connection for better quality.
i have seen the difference in a game-cube cable before.

Buying cables from ebay is a minefield tbh, you never know what your going to get. Cheaper ones tend to be composite wired only and not fully wired, if you can find a madcatz one I know they are as are the official ones and again retrogamingcables.co.uk for the expensive option. You could always take a chance I suppose, it says its REAL!

    Damn
I picked up the Painkiller collection for the 360 and realised that I don't have a console to play it on, except for upstairs, and I can't move up there!
The Gamesroom/Mancave/Cave of Wonders is in an awful state atm....
Boxes and boxes of Xmas deccys strewn from end to end and stacked on available flat and no so flat surfaces....
I keep meaning to sort it out, but work right now, well it has me distracted.
But it has to be done!

best thing, I think, is to plan for a Beers in May, which will force me into action... and get dusting, stacking, evicting insects and arachnids...

I'll update the Beers thread and get cleaning.
I wonder if I could get someone in to do the cleaning for me?
    Hmm....

I'm very strict with myself when it comes to the arcade.
When im working on something I always plan to have time to finish it and if i dont finish i clean up as much as possible.

I always spend 30mins on a Thursday eve getting the place ready so I can crack open a can Friday eve and play a few games

I'd do it if you get rid of the spiders, I love sorting stuff.

I probably would, I spend nearly a full day just pulling everything out when I'm sorting things and looking at it til I know how to put it back better.
All the same console games together, all neat tho ... so happy.

I can see the conversation now...

Ciderman "So Mrs Ciderman, this is TFGD, and she is moving in to sort out my games collection/room, she'll live upstairs and be provided with meals and a blanket to sleep on...."
Mrs Ciderman "STFU and get out"

Alright guys! Gonna hijack the thread here for a moment. Thinking of doing the ultimate trip in September/October this year, Japan! Nothing's booked yet, just looking into it atm. Looking at maybe a week or so.

Now I know a few of you have been a few times, so any advice or places to go etc would be a brilliant help. I'd be going over with my partner, he's into games, ps4 mainly and a little bit retro so he wouldn't be into going to the game shops all the time like I would. Is it expensive there? Tokyo for a day or two and then off somewhere else? Any sites that would be a must see?

Thanks for any advice yous can give :)

    (Very, excited)

    Do it,
Best trip we ever took. 3 weeks if possible .
tokyo for 3 days then 2 week JR pass and back to tokyo for the last 2/3 days worked out well for us.
We found it cheap once we got out there.

Cool! Well I could go for a week and a half but work gets in the way an all lol. What's a JR pass? And it's cheaper outside Tokyo?

I'd try for longer as the flight is a killer.
JR is the rail pass.might not be worth it if going for a short time.
In 10 days Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima ???
Long train times between the but it's a very enjoyable way to travel.

Highlight for me from our trip was miyajima island and the few days we spent in Hakone. We had 21 days and gladly would have stayed for another week.

For all you Dizzy fans out there. The unreleased NES game 'Fantasy World Dizzy' has been remade by the original creators and released for Free online. It's now called 'Mystery World Dizzy'

You can play the game on the website or download the ROM there.

There was a gathering for his 30th birthday yesterday, the Oliver Twins were there signing every bit of dizzy memorabilia thrown at them.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Got my hands on a Supaboy for a bit (the first one) and been pretty good so far using it. A few problems with testing it out on the TV, the picture comes up all garbled when connected with the AV lead. Would there be compatibility problems with playing it on TV's here? I have the right lead, the AV one and tried it on 2 tv's and it shows but comes up all choppy. It's just on a normal LCD tv by the way.

Anyone had the Supaboy and played it on the tv?

Might be a PAL tv having difficulties with an NTSC AV signal?

Possibly yes. Although I literally just watched a UK Youtuber review it and it seemed to play fine on his tv. Just wondering if it's the cable now.

That's the cable I got which I'm pretty sure is the correct one, it fits right anyway.

His TV might be both NTSC and PAL compatible whereas yours is might be PAL only.

Only way you'll know for sure is by testing it on another display really!

If it still doesn't work then it's the cable, it if works then the problem is your TV.

Do they not do RGB out at all no?
