What is the easternmost country in the European Union?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,807 ✭✭✭✭Orion

I think that has to be Cyprus. But knowing my geography I could just as easily be wrong.

    Is this tournaments or matches?

I recall a Mexican called Carbajal holding the tournament record at one time.

    Not Maradona.

@Srameen: Appearances in World Cup tournament matches. Carbajal has the joint record for most World Cups along with the player I'm looking for.

Clue - he's a European player who played in the 80s and 90s.

Sorry, I've been a bit distracted today...

    Quick one.

What have Lesotho, Tonga, Bahrain, The Vatican City, and Andorra, among others, in common?

Are they all inside a larger country?

    All landlocked within another country.

All have a head of state/head of government who is not elected by the populace/plebs/unwashed etc.
Sort of monarchies, though some might quibble re. Andorra.

Tonga is an island and Bahrain is situated on a bridged peninsula. (It was an island)

Can't help with the actual answer :D

No quibbles at all. They are monarchies. You're up.

Name the only two "territories" outside of Ireland ( North and South ) that celebrate St. Patrick's Day as a public holiday.

P.S. I say "territories" as opposed to places because there are a few small communities in the USA which do so. They don't count.
