As for the Clare County Council and I'll say it again. They've money to paint the roads of Ennis town red like a bank balance sheet but no black money to fill a basic pothole out in Rural Ireland.

As most bridge decks are supported by large U-beams these days, it is highly unlikely that the entire bridge would be critically compromised. However, I'm not sure if the vibrations through the deck would be doing the concrete itself much good. However, the short slips at that junction would need some serious reconfiguration.

Just after finding this thread and its really informative

One thing though, I always assumed that the motorway would co tinue to Sligo.
Is that not the case?

It would want to be a very very big rock breaker to damage the bridge structure. Very little force required to break a footpath, epecially one thats on a bridge deck. It wouldn't be causing anywhere near as much vibrations as two or three fully loaded arctic's flying across at full speed.

The signs at J19 need replacing too to remove mentions of Limerick/Sligo/N18/N17.

That closed down five years ago the only airport that's sign posted is Shannon will be 45 mins away when the m18 opens

True but not until after the M17/M18 opens. Hopefully they've got them as part of the same order and are storing them till needed.

But it is surprising. On the M7, the M8 is signed as

Cashel
Durrow

and that's just one motorway.

The footbridge at annagh hill will open in two weeks time it's the only part of the m17 that doesn't have the jersey barrier 13/03/17

I hope the M18 ramp -> N6 west is two lanes.

J30 on the M7 is getting very messy now with the ramp onto the M20.

And the M20 (N) -> M7 (E) ramp is a mess in the evenings too.

m17 does the M17 -> M6 West ramp look wide enough for 2 lanes?

Just a quick question: will the Tuam bypass have a central median of post and steel cable/barrier or none at all? I know it won't be concrete, but I expected some sort of median, although I've seen no activity yet installing anything. Just wondering!

That's a bit away yet roadbridge have 300 metre's of tarmac to do next to the west wing and the have the kilmore roundabout to complete and the wearing course has to be done it will be steel/cable barrier when it opens

Thought the DMRB called for all medians to be concrete?
