Similar experience. I downloaded an auto dialer app and just waited.

I did an early upgrade last Friday so getting 26 months off.

Wow. That's right on the bubble. Not many will beat that.

Well, actually it says "Effective from 3th April 2017" according to text.
So is it 30 days from then?

I'm on Classic Flex Max 350

My average bill ranges from 41 Euro to 46 Euro.

I'm not even sure what I originally signed up for but I seem to be going over the allowance regularly. I think my base cost is €40.66 from the mythree login. And the contract is due to expire on 19/04/2018

Are you guys telling me that Three is going to jack up the price and as a result I can get out of the contract ? Where do they inform people publicly of this ?

It would be nice to get out of my contract since the phone they offered as a sweetener was stolen last year.

My contract was due to expire in oct 2018. thankfully, i phoned yesterday, because phone lines seem to be crazy today. I just asked if my plan was going to rise in price, he said it was, so i played dumb and asked if i had the option to cancel, he said no problem, although he said i would have to wait one month for unlock code. Applied for unlock code online and got an email to say apple will unlock phone tomorrow.

Is bill pay mobile broadband affected by this change
Yes. The link on their site asks you to pick either phone or mobile BB to check

30 days from when the notice was issued so end of March

I was lucky as I only upgrade early because my old phone broke last week

Yes and they are sending out letters though you that doesn't make it so obvious. It's also in small print on their web site at the very bottom.

Cheers. I found it on the link below where they want to jack up my price to 45.

    http://www.three.ie/customer-agreement/phone/contract/classic/

In order to get to that page [for your own contract] you have to click a few radio buttons on this link.

    http://www.three.ie/customer-agreement/

So they dont make it easy. They have a small print type link and then an IQ/attention test of sorts to progress to the real information.

They have a Customer Notification page here yet no sign of a notification where you'd expect to see it

If ye do it before April 3rd AND if the CR didn't inform you of the changes in tariffs which wouldve affected you, then yes you lucky thing cause you get to keep the handset. A caveat though, if you mean you got the phone the 27th of Feb this year, you could be construed as terminating the contract under the legal mandatory cooling off period at which point you'd have to return the handset but you'd be refunded monies. The choice is yours as to what you want to do. Either keep the handset and say you're terminating the contract because you don't agree to the price changes etc (you've got to ring the dreaded 1800 number though, or it doesn't work. If you try to do it under the normal cancellation email or through their normal CS procedures you'll be charged the entirety of your contract, so it'll cost ye a fortune!) or say youre exercising your right to terminate the contract under the terms of the cooling off period (this you should be able to do over the phone using the normal CS number). But, if you are keeping the handset, try and do a request for the unlock code using their online form. Not sure you'd be eligible for it though, no harm in trying. But the way things are these days its easy to get your phone unblocked these days for a fee; online, eBay, town etc.

Cheers lads. Been screwed by three a number of times so it would be enjoyable to return the favour.

Is the unlimited FlexiMax-Sim only unlimited everything, all networks (ignoring the EU thingy for now) 30 a month.

****. I just realized when I called, I asked to cancel my contract and she just asked if I wanted to change to payg or sim only. But the conversation was over so quick I only realized now that I didn't mention that i was canceling due to the contract changes. Will I be charged the remainder of my contract??

Most people are downgrading to a SIM only plan but what are the mechanics of this if you want to switch to a meteor SIM only plan?

Do I just sign up for a port on meteor?

Do I need to contact three?

If I cancel with three does the cancellation become effective on 3 April?

If so Do I need to coordinate meteor to start on 3rd April?

    You can break it.

I got a new contract and phone on the 28th and was able to cancel and keep the phone the very next day.

No you won't. From what I've heard (8 work colleagues got their contracts cancelled) but two of em downgraded to the sim only and was told that it becomes a 30 day rolling contract so they can effectively end their contracts anytime really, and port elsewhere if they wanted. Careful though, a few did say the reps really really didn't want them to cancel and tried hard to "keep" them by saying it was what most were doing. The truth perhaps is that perhaps more were cancelling completely. Either way it's a better scenario than being stuck after April turd. :p

Edit. Don't forget to get your unlocking code otherwise if you wanna port and keep your handset it will have to only be with 3. If done the legal way anyway.

Have two teens on Three because of their 'all you can eat data allowance with NO fair usage policy'. They pay €25.41 a month each - now it is proposed by THREE that this will increase to 29e a month.

Think THREE are being very clever here.

My teens never use the phone to ring they whatsapp snapchat facebook Skype people.

I have shopped around and there is no other provider in the irish market that have a prepaid All you can eat data with NO fair usage policy. Three must know this but the data usage is obviously very high from a number of their young customers with no real income stream from phone calls.

So if you are a person that uses huge amount of data but you don't use your phone much for calls or texts you should at least consider going on the higher THREE tariff. A Fair usage policy means if you exceed the threshold they will charge a very high rate for data. Parents beware!!

If It seems too good to be true it usually is!!!!

Three have had FUP in place for years at 15GB, then up to 60GB recently. They didn't enforce it a lot, but I'd say that is likely to change in the near future

I requested an unlock code for my S6 too. They told me the imei was not recognized.

Maybe it's unlocked all along so

Any thoughts on whether i should move to their sim only 30 contract or whether to move to prepay? I haven't had a prepaid phone in years and hate the idea of running out of credit!

Throw a competitor SIM into it, I'd be surprised if it is.

I was one of the first s6edge plus owners in the country, so perhaps they didn't get a chance to lock mine , i dunno.

Yeah, I generally buy devices as soon as they come out, and very rarely are they locked.

You can cancel and walk away. Then go and do want ever you want just like a new customer.

    I don't see why not.

It is shocking to see three, rather than accept new eu roaming laws, willingly lose customers hand.over foot via trying to implement loopholes etc.

Loyal customer my hoop, just goes to show you, you're viewed as a cash cow and nothing more.

I was with them since 07 btw.

Of course not. If you get a new phone the contract will be at the new price already so they won't be in breach of anything.

If you sign up to a new contract today it will include the new prices so you can't break it.
