They are having an issue with that 1800 no at present. It's not even connecting. I hope this isn't a ploy to prevent people from contacting them within the 30 day notice period. Also tried the 1913 and disconnects after 20 minutes. Online chat just keep repeating the number to ring and their is no email alternative. I was going to cancel with 3 in June anyway when contract is up. I've just cancelled my direct debit and hopefully I can get through within the next 30 days and just pay the final bill at my leisure. Incidentally the guy on the webchat wanted to know how I heard about the tariffs increasing as I have not received my letter yet. I don't think they are happy about boards.ie at all.

I'm on the 350 Plan (€40.66) but haven't heard anything from them about an increase. has everyone received the communication from them. They only have about 2 more days to tell me or it will be within 30days of the increase.

Nothing happens when I call the number on my 3 phone. Interestingly when I call their 1800 number from a landline, I get "This number is no longer in service". Sounds a bit more serious than clogged lines: Maybe they've a new number?

Wish I had a contract with three :( , they'll have no one left at this rate :pac:

Forgot to ask for an unlock code when on the phone earlier so tried chat. Told them I already had a cancellation notice on the account and he processed the request to get the unlock code. Should be emailed in 48 hours, or up to 14 days if they need to request it from the manufacturer.

Is everyone who is requesting unlock codes checking that they're device is locked first? The S6 Edge+ I have was never locked to 3.

Someone said earlier that all the carriers will be doing this in the next week or so to get around EU legislation on roaming.

a price increase is fine at the end of a contract. not in the middle . when i signed the contract it was for 2 years at 25 euro.
Not 2 years at 25 euro plus increases when we feel like it. and to be given a phone number that you cant connect to is a joke

Have you been notified that you're having an increase? They were probably going to stagger the notifications so that the phone lines didn't overload....

In any case, I wouldn't get too worked up about it, there's no rush.

yes got it in the post. i have 2 contracts with them. and am not paying 30 euro for 100 flex units .when i have a contract for 25 euro. have been trying that number all day 1800818021 .and its not connected. you are right you have just 30 days to contact that disconnected nomber....i think COMREG might be needed on this one.

Have been unable to get through to the number all day but am now on hold - so anyone else still looking to get through, keep trying!

If you just can't get through then first thing to do is to register a Formal Complaint on three's website. Once you have done that you can then use comreg to leverage you out of contract, but I would have thought if you keep trying you'll get through eventually.

After 64 call attempts  and 18 minutes on hold, I got sorted.
Easy enough process once you get through.

20 minutes on hold, they didn't even try get me to stay on my price plan, just asked if I wanted to switch to sim-only or PAYG. Sowted. Poor guys must be having an awful day there, I work in Customer Services as well, I feel their pain!

Got hard sell to stay on a contract. Stood firm and moved to three pay, pay as you go. have to get a sim in a three shop. About an hour trying to get through, and ten minutes once through.

Yep you can because it's going up to 60 per month with the new charges.
I had circa 22 months left on my contract and I called and cancelled it yesterday. Just got the unlock code in the last few minutes.

in their final bill can they not charge you for the rest of your contract since your still keeping the phone though?

No. That would be penalising you when they broke the contract.

Nope I saw my final bill online and it's less than what I usually pay.
    Ends on March 31st

Similar experience. I downloaded an auto dialer app and just waited.

I did an early upgrade last Friday so getting 26 months off.

Is bill pay mobile broadband affected by this change

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭misschoo

Hi I know I'm on the lower of the plans - 3 min flexi Max which increases from €25.41 to €30. I am 6 months into a 2 year contract and got the iPhone 7. The reason I picked this plan is because my bills are normally 30-34 a month and use more data than calls so feel that I was benefitting instead of going for the higher plans.
My question is should I go sim only @ €30 a month or prepay for €20? Is there unlimited data on prepay and sim only? Thanks
