That looks huge. Is it akward to hold?

It's really comfortable. And small. Though mine is grey, so the bright colours might make it bigger. :)

I'm trying to talk myself out of it too. The only negative I have is to keep reminding myself how much console games cost. Nearly €70 for Zelda? How many HumbleBundles could I get for that? :p

Also my gaming backlog is huge. But I want a Switch so much... It's new and shiny.

Oh look, there's stock in my nearest Argos... *taps foot impatiently*

    joycons beside pro controller

both feel pretty good but the pro does feel that bit better most likely due to its similar shape

Standard one that comes with it is very dinky, it may look big with colour's but it's not at all...

Hmmm Pro Controller or I Am Setsuna and FAST RMX is the only decision I have left to make now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,678 ✭✭✭TrustedApple

Anyway my switch is back working. And a Bonus I had money in my account from my 3DS to transfer over.

I am extremely impressed with the console with what i have played so far on it. Zelda and Fast RMX Everyone needs to get that game it is just so much fun to play and fast moving you be on your toes none stop.

Its Big I will say that a lot bigger then i was expecting of it. But I find it quite comfy to hold.

To me its my replacement for my Vita and I am happy with that i still think the Vita (Pitty there was not more games) is the greatest handheld off all time. This with it being Nintendo i have extreme faith in it becoming a fantastic handheld console over the next few years for me.

Cant get to get back to it later and try Fast RMX when the console is docked.

Had ordered a standard case/accessory pack in Argos but when I went to the till to pay for it, they didn't have it in stock.

I did mention it to the girl that I had actually reserved the messenger bag and she charged me the price for other accessory pack I had tried to buy.

    Fair play.

Went out to get a pro controller - the joycons are great in mobile mode but terrible for a real couch gaming session. I recommend getting the pro for adults.

Nice bonus inside the Messenger bag. It actually has a smaller hard case that you can take out and put into a backpack or whatever if you didn't fancy bringing the messenger bag around with all the other accessories. Really nice bag though.

You have now just sold me on the Messenger bag! I have one reserved in Argos Jervis that I will pick up this evening! Having the small harder carrying case is essential for me!

GAME is having trouble with launch day Nintendo Switch deliveries
Meanwhile, Amazon UK Wii U Zelda copies won't turn up until Monday.

Nintendo's new Switch console goes on sale

Nintendo Switch, the Japanese gaming giant's new video games console which can be used at home and remotely, goes on sale here from today.

As well as being used as a home system, the Switch contains a 6 inch screen which can be lifted from a docking station and played remotely using modular controllers that either attach to the side of the display or connect wirelessly.

The Joy-Con controllers can also be split in half to enable two players to compete against each other.

The launch is Nintendo's first new console since the Wii U was released in 2012 and has received positive reviews ahead of its debut.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima called the Switch a "brand-new kind of home gaming system that offers a wide variety of play modes", and said the company hoped to "introduce the world to new experiences" with the console.

However, some critics have raised concerns over the number of high-end games that will be available on the Switch on launch day, with only a handful appearing alongside a greater number of indie games.

The price - €330 for the system and controllers - has also been called too expensive by some.

Nintendo has been fighting to compete with Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One since both consoles first went on sale in 2013, offering higher end graphics and wider entertainment experiences.

However, Nintendo retains a hardcore base of fans for its consoles and games - including the Legend Of Zelda franchise, the newest instalment of which is a launch title for Switch, while a new Super Mario game is due at the end of the year.

It's absolutely perfect and looks good. Nice big Nintendo Switch logo on the side of it. Each accessory gets its own unique area. The pouch for the Switch itself has the hard case inside it and on the back of the bag is an extra compartment for any other bits you might want to throw in there.

    Recommended.

Have to laugh at argos' site saying the 329.99 is their lowest price ever. So nice of them.

It is their lowest price. It was listed at €50 more yesterday.

Argos Liffey Valley reservation code available for Zelda Limited Edition, JoyCon Grey and Pro Controller until tomorrow, for anyone who's interested.
Not sure if you can remove the unwanted accessories at point of purchase, but worth a shot (surely you can).

Legally, it should have been at the higher price for at least 28 days if they are to drop the price and advertise it as a 'sale'.

Argos, once again, riding the wrong side of the ragged edge.

The higher price was a placeholder though until the console was launched. Can't really have it on sale for 28 days if it's not available that long.

That's probably grand then unless money had changed hands at the higher price or it was displayed as anything but a placeholder. If they had a stand on display in-store at the higher price, that'd be a problem. A placeholder being replaced is grand.

Yea not sure how it works. Overall I wouldn't bother complaining about having an item for sale at a higher price for a day and reducing it down the next and saying 20% etc off. They have some great deals (look at the PS4 one available at the minute) and never have a problem with replacing a damaged product.
