Still no reply to the email I sent them.
Maybe others can email them as well

I think they update the online catalogue on a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning so Switch stuff will hopefully show up then. I'd be amazed if they didn't have games available on launch day but don't hold me to it. :)

Just looking at number of replies on thread It's nearly caught up with the I have a Wii U thread and has three time the replies of the WiiU prelaunch thread really is a lot of people looking forward to this.

So who gets to start the "I have a Nintendo Switch Thread"!

Still on the fence about picking it up on launch. Would like BOTW asap so am debating getting the Wii U version but in long run would prefer to have it on the switch. Good chance I wouldn't buy it again for the switch or at least not unless could I pick it up cheap. Sensible thing is the wait at least till the summer when I can pick one up in France. I can wait I have more than enough games to get through. Though if Argos do any sort of discount bundle I could be tempted.

I know Netfilx and browser are not important it primarily a gaming device but it would help me swing it with the wife as a second device to stop my two fighting over the ipad when we are out. They're not great sharers though so my wife's not always a fan of them playing the WiiU either as it causes fights and the youngest can get really frustrated when things don't go her way! :(

Will those sans Switch be permitted to post on a "I have a Switch thread?"
What penalties will be brought to bear on trespassers?
    Beatings?
    CDi LoZ sessions?

If amazon can't ship Zelda and console on day of release I'll keep my options open for getting Zelda from Argos depending on price...

40Uk versus maybe 55 euro if I could have a game the day after launch....

I assume Amazon will be shipping the Switch a day or 2 before launch day so people might get it day one? I think thats what happened for the PS4.

With the Parcel Motel route I definitely won't be the one to start the "I have a Nintendo Switch Thread"

    So...
    This is interesting.
Particularly for those who reckon the Switch is expensive to buy for, even me when it comes to controllers.
I'm here in Argos and they've listings on the instore system, including a Hori pad, 3rd party alternative to the official pro pad, and it's a pocket friendly €33.99.
Also, they've a Hori LAN adapter for €33.99 as well as a charging dock for €39.99, presumably for the second set of Joycons as the original set will charge on system.
Bomberman R is €46.99 as well.
They've a comfort grip, non charging, for €12.99 too.

I preordered Zelda when Amazon had that £10 off orders over £50 offer on.

Still showing as being delivered 7th or 8th March so I'll have the Switch and no (physical) games for 4 or 5 days.

Really hoping the Virtual Console is up & running for launch.....

yeah, I was in ARgos up the north - they're pre-order-friendly - last weekend and you can see a hell of a range of stuff - including the zippy zelda Cloth-finish case that got removed from the UK website.

Isn't the Hori pad wired though? I remember seeing a cable in the preview in before the reveal...

Is that LAN adapter available on March 3 in Argos? Amazon.co.uk has it listed but says it's not released until March 19

Their Twitter was pretty good when I was asking them about instant film a few months back.

    I tweeted and they replied
"due to this not being on the website I am unable to advise"

If it was on the website, I wouldn't be asking

Anyone know if the switch will support wired headphones and bluetooth headphones when docked ?
I also got a loan of a cheapo 24 inch 1080p monitor till I can decide on what to buy.  It is dvi only so I am assuming a dvi to hdmi dongle is all I need.  As the Switch isn't out yet, nyone know if this sort of adaptor worked on the WiiU ?

    thanks

Only under penalty of 20 games of 1-2 Switch?

I really am gonna set up a boycott game shops day if the stores don't stop ripping people off but I'd probably do a week of boycotts for gamestop, terrible treatment of customers charging €150 for the zelda edition that has nothing of value in it.

Vote with your feet and buy online or from Argos Nintendo themselves don't have the master edition priced that high neither.

Fast RMX at launch. Good stuff. No Virtual Console at launch though. Still hoping for SnipperClips launch day confirmation too.

Great my card has been scammed and I have it on file with amazon for my pre order woop de do ..... This has left me rightly stuck now and hope i have a card in time to buy my switch.

Revolut, create a virtual card and top it up by a debit card?

I got an email from Amazon which said "We have good news! One of your pre-ordered items is now eligible for release date delivery and has been upgraded at no additional charge". So it does appear that they should tell/the estimate on your order is correct/accurate.

TBF I am in London so would have been very surprised if I didn't get it on the 3rd.

That's pretty bad. I thought surely they'd have at least 3-5 there to showcase the service.

Nintendo for the value of their game library they sure as hell make it hard to profit from it. I'm glad it will be able to go online at launch at this stage.

Ah but we'll have eShop so we can play NEW games instead of all those OLD silly ones (jk, its devastating).

In other news, Zelda preview embargo lifts in 23 minutes...!

Tom Howard led the development on Skyrim, you would think he would know at this point what version the Switch was getting, very odd comment to make.

It will be farmed out to a cheap third party to do. Still a bit odd. I doubt the Switch will handle the high def textures and shaders from the remaster so wouldn't be surprised if it's the old version.

Disappointed about no VC but Shovel Knight is a day one purchase. What a game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 990 ✭✭✭earthwormjack

I'm not really bothered or surprised by no VC at launch. Didn't launch with 3ds or Wii U either. I've plenty of time to re-buy my old games, I'll focus on new games for now.

Hopefully with the VC delay it won't be a slow trickle of games again, launch with a bang.

"We will share more information in the future," a Nintendo press release simply states.

Oh fcuk off Nintendo. The machine will be in shops and they still won't tell us if they're going to make us buy the games we've already bought off them again.

Anyone else find that there's this vacuum of information from Nintendo. It's a week away and there's very little hype being generated by them. No Direct. Just a trickling out of disappointing information. Has anyone seeing any ads on TV yet? Kids channels don't count.
