Reluctant to update to the new Android on Galaxy S7(not the edge)

Read earlier in this thread that the edge had battery issues with the new update, is it the same with the normal s7?

I've been on Nougat for a month (regular S7) and there are no battery issues.

One of the great features about Nougat is that it'll tell you if any apps are killing your battery (and give you the option to put them to sleep).

For example, Clash of Clans was taking up 2% an hour recently and I got a notification message to alert me to that.

I updated on Saturday and I'm liking the few small changes so far. No issues wit the battery for me, standard S7

Eir (bill pay) are launching WiFi calling for the S7 & S7E in late February. Meteor to follow soon after.

I can see this being great for people whose house or work place has poor signal.

Here's an XML document which you can import into your package disabler app.

You could probably also disable the facebook & gear vr apps etc. but I personally use these so left them enabled.

    See how you get on...

Help needed please. I use Package Disabler Pro on my phone and have a lot of rubbish and bloat ware disabled but how do you import this XML document onto my S7

Folks woke up this morning to 4 horizontal band lines on my screen. Staying there constantly anyone have anything similar? tried restarting and screen test but its still there. I called Three (who i'm on contract with) they told me to contact samsung first.

Edit: this is the exact issue

It's a screen defect, bring it to Samsung and they will fix it under warranty

I believe fonfix in Sandyford has the full samsung license, so they can repair under warranty and keep the warranty. They just often lack stock of screens.

Worked for one of them in the UK for a year, we fixed all the newer Samsung phones onsite - nothing was sent away. Turn around time was always under 72 hours for hardware unless there was a part shortage. Suprised they don't that in Dundrum

Just flashed latest nougat btu firmware off sammobile for friend. Blasted thing has Facebook installed and can only disable it. For some reason it flashed the XEU csc. Have Samsung gone back to that csc from BTU ?. Might try flashing previous release Nougat which was definitely BTU csc. Also thinking this is a payg handset from Car phone warehouse and I think they are all XEU csc's but never checked first. Anyone else on XEU csc ? To check Power off, hold down home, vol up, Power, release power at Samsung logo. Ta.

I thought it was fine but it's definitely not. Normally I'd have 40-50% this time of the evening. Hardly used the phone all day bar light web browsing and I'm down to 9%.

21 hours off charge and 2.5 hours screen on

Use wakelock detector and enable the ADB permissions to find out what's going on. Instructions are on the playstore.

Still no sign of Nougat on Vodafone..

You're not missing anything. So many people all over the internet are jizzing their pants of the nougat update. Every 5 seconds there's a new thread or post "plz when is nougant?"

Just chill out and go outside or something. I actually prefer Marshmallow. My black theme is all ****ed up now. Some areas are now blindingly white. My eyes get blasted out of me at random times during the night.

Just received my phone back from Samsung they said it was something to do with the LCD - a part went awry. Phone is perfect now in fact seems to be a whole new screen as i had a small scratch on one of the corners thats now vanished. All in all very happy with the service and glad this problem arose when it was in warranty

Had my phone in my bag charging on my power bank and ever since then my charger won't stay in and only works when I pull it forward. How can I go about getting the port repaired? I bought it new form a guy on adverts last year so I doubt Samsung will be an option.

Going away for 2 months next Wednesday and a phone that only charges when I place it in a very particular way is not what I need :(

Anyone running a custom Rom they'd recommend? I like Nougat but the battery life is awful even using package disabler.

Try this one I'm using it last few months excellent battery life, bit tricky to install but worth it.
