touche- in general though, we are talking about a peaceful religion, no calls for violence like in koran or bible

Pigs aren't particularly well treated in fairness. You can buy free range Chicken and as for taking the Cows children...please.

What a pile of piss. The Soldiers Song should be sung as it was written. In English.

Until then you are going to have a load of twitching and fiddling as they simply do not know the words.

I spent half of my childhood in the Gaeltacht and people like Barry Henriques (some name) and most of these Gaelgoirí (most not from Gaeltacht areas) are pains in the hole.

Was Barry on with Hook? He'd make Hook seem shy and retiring.

Precisely what happened. George couldn't get a word in edgeways.

That was a good bit on the snowflakes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭Vorenus400

The book on special snowflakes sounds interesting but i think its lost on the modern George. He is constantly outraged at what people say. How long ago was he saying "how dare foreigners criticise Trump" then quickly going to do just that for Obama or Merkel.

George has become a bit of a snowflake

I thought that wan who wrote the book about "snowflakes" had already done the rounds a couple of months ago.Do you ever notice that many of these people who whine on about debate being stifled by PC have absolutely nothing else of substance to say when they are given media access. Its one hell of a con trick to use up all that time and then spent it claiming you aren't given the opportunity to give your opinion.
Next he"ll be doing something equally original like wimmin with tattoos

yeh all this complaining about political correctness. Now this is probably not very politically correct (these days) , but for Georges benefit, PC simply was asking us to stop and think before we open the mouths, Treat each other like we want to be treated. Show some empathy and understanding for people with different lives.
And that is what drives George and the alt-right mental. Who would have thought!

George made a guest appearence on the breakfast show today. He went off on one about cyclists again. And said that public transportation managers/cyclists and cycling groups should be locked up/are a disgrace. Then they put a snooker ball back in his mouth and locked him up back in the dungeon until noon!

    Pity they didn't have Matt on to remind George that he's the criminal one;

PC is about not being able to open your mouth without being labelled as being racist/homophobic/ageist etc.

it was hilarious in how utterly clueless and ignorant he sounded.

he seemed completely oblivious to the fact that more dedicated cycle lanes would mean less cyclists on pedestrian paths. he should have been in favour of Cuffe's points, given how often he seems to get "nearly killed" by cyclists.

it's a bit odd how often this seems to happen to George, but obviously he isn't the one at fault.
I can only assume that there's multiple deaths from people getting mowed down by cyclists each day, given how George himself seems to escape death on a weekly basis...

When listening to Hook talking about motoring/cycling you've got to remember the type of fool that you're dealing with. I know I wouldn't take a lift from him.

funny that....I open my mouth all the time to talk, eat and breathe...indeed right now I can see at least a dozen people doing likewise and yet to hear anybody being labelled racist/homophobic/ageist.Are you party of this nonsensical con trick or( as the Yanks would say)you just like drinking the "Kool Aid".Do you believe all the BaaBaa Black Sheep drivel as well or are just simply satisfied and unconcerned as to its provenance. Now that's sheeplike behaviour.Easy though.

Get a life would you. You've just proved my point - if you open your mouth and say something which the PC brigade don't like they put you in a box and label you with whatever 'ism' fits the bill.

PC is about being able to make your point without feeling the need to offend people. It's usually about the way that it is said as much as what is said.

In Hook's case it's a constant boorish, barrage on the same topics every day of the week.

Yesterday we had Ivan Yates followed by Hook. Clearly Newstalk want to latch on to the new Trump led agenda.

    Definitely

That's what you do to 'big up' a programme.

You won't get anywhere by being sensible and calm and logical.

You gotta be seen to be a bit of a 'rebel' 'rage against the machine' type even though in real life you bed in with everything on air you are 'against'

Strange how some people are taken in by these goons.

Yep exactly. We have fawning callers to the show with more of this reactionary ****e.

Farmers and rural kids should have exemption.from laws rest of us live with. Ie drink driving or laws to.do.with learner drivers.

such as we should allow learner driver chidren of.rural folk drive illegally with no accompanying fully.licenced driver. Too many laws. Children of farmers just trying to make an illegal stArt in life. Bloody Dublin with their laws. No forget Dublin, it must be the EU conspiracy.

1 day earlier he was going mental about not enough.laws or enforcement in the awful case of donegal.driver with countless convictions and no insurance licence tax etc, who took.the life of.another.driver.

The.thing with George and his law and.order ilk.is.that they go mental.about declining behaviour and the kids these days and berate law makers when they try to do something about it. Especially when it is evidence based policy versus whatever him and the golf or yacht club buddies dream up after a 5th Hennessey and ginger ale.

How is George being put in with the alt right.
    Heres the checklist:
    Civilisation is threatened by Islam.
The left are the looney euro weeney left who want to throw away white european culture
Mainstream media cant be trusted : only the views of disgruntled service workers that george encounters are to be considered expert.
    Obama was a disaster: Fact!
Merkel invited in rape culture into Europe.
Trump is the last great white hope.
When he has tom mcguirk on: our only hope is to leave the EU, kick out all immigrants and have a new act of union with the UK and hope they are good enough to thrwo some cash our way because of our common island heritage.
    Etc etc

All that's true, but he can change his position on any of those issues depending on his mood or whoever he is talking to. That's why you can't take him seriously and nobody does really. If any other high-profile broadcaster had come out with some of the stuff that Hook has over the past couple months it would be front page news, but because it's him - the reaction is...shrug..."It's only George". I'm sure this irks him no end.

The outrage at start of the every show is to get those 30 cent texts flooding in and people fall for it every time. I wonder is he's on commission?

So you can't put it in plain English? I'm not in the least offended by your inability to get your message across clearly. :D
