Seriously, WTF are some of these? "Baby"? Awful. That's not fun. And the acting. I hate those people.

I made it about half way through that video. Christ almighty, that's a mortifying video and who the fook would play that baby game.

Jesus they are fairly gimmicky. It reinforces my thought that it should should be bundled with the switch.

Suddenly Karen isn't gonna be welcome to the party anymore, with her screaming baby!!:D

It's alright though, she's going to dose everyone with super-strength Prozac.

Right cancelled my 1-2 switch pre order after watching that video.

    Looks awful haha

I don't suppose GameStop would give me my e5 deposit back :O

That game is a tech demo and should have been a pack in with the console. I won't be getting it at launch either.

On the plus side, it'll be €20 (or less) by June.

With every passing day more and more information emerges that further cements in my mind that I won't be picking the Switch up at launch.

All I'll say is that from you, I can understand this reaction, as you're the only person I know that uses the browser on the Wii U. I think that you're very much in the minority on that though, most people would just use the browser on their phone/tablet/laptop over any browser built into a console.

I think they allow you to move the 5 euro to a different pre order

Having a baby face on a screen and cuddling it compared to a doll, it is weird imo.

As far as console browsers go it was great. They're usually awful.

A few details on the Switch accessories, most notable is the battery in the Pro Controller.

    Joy-Con charging grip
    - includes USB cable

    Pro Controller
    - includes USB cable
    - uses CTR003 battery, which is also in the 3DS and Wii U Pro Controller
    - battery life = Approx. 40 hours. Please note: this is the estimated battery life. This may vary depending on the usage conditions.
    - charging time = Approx. 6 hours

    Switch case
    - includes space for 5 games and 2 Joy-Con straps

I also use it. But you don't know me. We streetpassed once and I think it meant more to me than it did to you :(

I don't understand this forums single minded focus on eschewing any non-gaming features. "I've got a phone for those things" - well you have a phone for gaming too, should you choose it. How big are your pockets? How deep is your bag? How old are your kids? God damn it, Ninty are competing in what is suddenly a very crowded market, and anywhere you can broaden your appeal without negatively affecting your core selling point you should. Narrow appeal means lower sales means lower install base means less return on Software investment means less investment means falling 3rd party support and christ at a buffet I am sick of living in a software ghetto...

Mammy is in Marks n Spencers. It's saturday night and I ain't eatin' no Lidl curry!
    Scenario 1 :
"Daddy! We wanna watch a moooveeee!"
    Result :
Kids watch phone, I play Zelda. Everyone wins.

    Scenario 2 :
"Daddy! We wanna play a game!"
"But I only have 1 3DS and there are 3 of you! And there's the 1 of me that you keep forgetting about - what do I do?"
"Silly daddy, it's March the 4th! Gimme gimme joycons!"
    Result :
Kids play bomberman in the back, I put some time in on Future Fight or Fire Emblem Heroes.

    Scenario 3 :
"Daddy! I have just murdered my sister with a Joycon because you only bought 2 and there are 3 of us and Bomberman has negatively influenced our ability to manage our rages or frustrations!"
"But I only have 4 minutes to beat this FE:Heroes map to unlock Lucina.... Don't worry, this is a hypothetical scenario where I have the power to raise the dead and Nintendo put a Netflix app on the Switch. Let's stream, bitches!"
    Result :
Mammy never finds out about the fratricide. And I have to explain to the kids that it's just me talkin' street, I wasn't directly calling them anything.

    Scenario 4:
Something where I end up browsing the web on the switch. No one has time for this ****.

So as you can see, options are very useful and are not to be discarded so flippantly.

Bull$h1t! You can't say that. I've had it pre ordered with Gamestop since before the presentation. Everything in that and since has put me right off it. It's not what I wanted or was expecting. I'll get it eventually but it could be in a year now.

    K
It's just you seem, all along, dead set against it and the games on it.
That said, you do seem very excited about the Switch version of LoZ... would that not spur you onto buying it?
Do you still have the preorder?
Perhaps there is still time to persuade you!

Binding of Isaac was originally a flash game (currently €5) and was rewritten from the ground up (Binding of Isaac Rebirth - €15). They added lots of content to it, then released Afterbirth (€11) which is a massive DLC pack with over 1000 new room layouts, new modes, new levels, new bosses and lots of other content. Then they released Afterbirth+ (€10) with hundreds more rooms, new levels, new bosses, new weapons, a level editor (etc. etc. -- you get the idea).

What we're getting on Switch is the full game - Isaac Rebirth, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+. If you buy it all on Steam, it'll cost you €36. If you get into it, it's HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay.

To dismiss it as a €5 game is naive at best. It's a day 1 purchase for me.

Jaysus, it's worse than FIFA with all these updates

Other than LOZ which I can get on my Wii U, I'm still not seeing anything about the switch that can make me justify a purchase pre Xmas 2017.

Dont get me wrong, it looks nice, I like the form factor, the joy cons look nice in particular for small hands if you have kids for example but there's just no killer app/game right now for me anyway.

I genuinely hope it sells well though.

I've BOTW ordered on Wii U through Amazon. It's the only real must-have game on Switch for the foreseeable future. I've played Splatoon and especially MK8 to death so neither of those on Switch really interest me. Sure I'd like to play MK8 Deluxe but I'm not spending another €60 for essentially the same game except for Battle Mode being fixed. When good original games arrive, like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and hopefully a Metroid game, coupled with a price drop then I'll buy it.

I don't think I'll pick it up in release either. Might wait until the summer, only because I want Nintendo not just to have an intial blow out but also to sustain sales, so I think my summer should keep them afloat.

I have many devices to browse the internet on. I don't want to do that on the Switch.

A good chunk of the reason I want the Switch is that I never bought into the tablet fad so I hoped to use it for browsing the web out and about if I was inclined...

Of course we have browsers on most devices these days but it's kind of annoying there won't be one on my "tablet device" :(

i said months ago im not getting the NX, as it was known at the time, at launch cause i've been burned by being a earlier adopter of too many consoles, not just nintendo ones. i said at least i can still get zelda on the wii u.

then the video package that first announced it came along and i was sold. now i justify it by being able to play a superior looking version of zelda on the go that also has far better loading times, 12 seconds from clicking on the game to having a game save loaded vs 36 seconds. i know its not much but it will probably add it. well thats what i say to myself anyway :o

i can get peoples points in waiting til xmas but for me theres enough for me in zelda, snipperclips, bomberman, mario kart, splatoon 2 to keep me going til later in the year especially zelda with the rumoured 200 hours of gameplay. i imagine theres also a load of indie games and other games to come that i will also get in that time like hoping yooka-laylee comes to the switch in the summer at some point.

there will be one just not at launch, the browser was a weak point the wii u system that was exploited by hacks, nintendo havent figured out that and dont wish to have the same thing on the switch so will release the browser in time when its stable maybe your summer version will have it :)

Lads I've emptied my piggy bank and I have €250. To Switch or not to Switch that is the question.

I think with the browser it's possibly just a case that they just want to get the message out there what the system is without people thinking it's just a 'normal' tablet. In all of the media and ads how about the Switch I don't recall one single time someone was holding the tablet part without the Joy-Cons, besides docking and undocking. I think they want to focus on the gaming and every media has shown that, I think is also perhaps why they have been lacking in info about the UI as well. I think Nintendo should address the unknowns in the system of course, but I think the media like a browser, maybe Netflix etc will come, maybe just not now at the risk of muddying the point of the system and also having full grunt for games at launch.

The interesting bit for me is how they'll get around playing portable in wi-fi hotspots, which require a browser to sign in etc. They could have some from of Webkit I guess built in to get around this.

I've always had a tablet and use it semi regularly but don't bother with android gaming. I was actually hoping this would enable me to get rid of my tablet and have a multipurpose gaming/browsing/streaming device.

I'm a bit torn now that it's simply a console.
