I'm not seeing this anywhere in these bloggers social media, every time they demo their latest fave foundation or lipstick ???
Irish bloggers must now tell their fans when they have been paid to promote a product

banchang, I moved your post from Gossies to Promote thread as it was better suited here.
Also try to add a little text from the article so your post doesn't read like a clickbait, I fixed it for you this time.

banchang, They only have to put #ad if they are paid. What your probably seeing are press realeases they don't need anything!

What's the story with every blogger and their mother getting the gossies outfit altered in the zip yard??

Rob Kenny also went on about the XipYard for his gossie outfit. Hmm.

Cynical to suggest that maybe some didn't stay/turn up as they weren't winning anything...?

I find it really amusing that the products in the Gossie goodie bags are basically all things I'd say 90% of the "nominees" have already from numerous Meaghers press drops.

As far as they go the content is very disappointing, but it'll be interesting to see in the coming days if there's a lot of promotion for XYZ "amazing, lifechanging product" from ABC brand. Obviously no #ad required there but it's almost like keeping plates spinning, I get the impression that it's you scratch my back, I scratch yours and that all starts with a shout out.

I actually can't believe she won. She is absolutely worst at not disclosing ads. I'm disappointed rosemary didn't win anything.

Very interesting article. So bloggers/influencers will have to tell revenue about everything they receive for free. I wonder how many have been doing this.

No he's been pretty inconsistent in the past but appears to have started including #ad recently.
That said, the discount codes he gives for takeaways are a bit suss, he should state whether or not he's getting something out of that. Maybe he has and I've missed it.......

Wondering how the dotty lemon and my shining armour actually stays afloat with all the free stuff they seem to send to bloggers. Literally so many bloggers mention them over and over.

Does anyone have a copy of the article? Can't read from the link above as not subscribed to SBP.

    Thanks.

"If the person returns the product to the sender without delay, then there should be no tax implications"

    Thanks for that Capefear :)

So if they don't want to pay tax on the freebie makeup etc, they need to return it. Hmmm wonder who pays for shipping :P :P :P

Some bloggers depops with be made redundant now.

So interesting. Wonder will the ambassadors etc be made pay tax eg car or tea, probably not if they are specifically employed by the company and on their books etc.

How are revenue going to know what items bloggers recieve, without having a camera fitted into their homes? Is it just for items they show on social media? I don't see how this is ever going to be enforced. I haven't read the article yet so all these questions may have already been answered :pac:

He's not transparent at all IMO. It's only in the last week that I've seen him using #ad. He's constantly promoting and never states it. I'm convinced he has some deal going on with the Pepper Pot as he's in there for lunch a few times a week. And the Westbury too actually (always in for tea, as well as having a night's stay there, dinner in restaurant etc.) And as someone else said, he doesn't declare those takeaways he has a discount code for. There are tonnes of other examples of him not being transparent.

He also did 'let's get checked' after his first Sex ed talk and no #ad euther, although Rosemary did it a few months ago and she put #ad.

I love James k, he is hilarious and I enjoy his snaps but he has never been transparent.

And last week the owner of my shining armour was on snapchat saying how because it is a small company they are unable to give discounts etc like larger companies but they seem to be able to give away 300 makeup bags or earrings to a masterclass or awards event no problem!

James is a lovely guy and is very savvy, let's not forget he's a PR guru (a pretty amazing one at that, this isn't a read) but he takes full advantage that 'grey area' of the ASAI guidelines.

He #ad with his BOI snaps the other week and probably just because they had laid out that he must do under the terms in whatever contract they have. Just like with all the blogger snaps of Boots products at Christmas anyone who mentioned them and their products always #ad Rosie etc had a star buy thing each week and was always good for doing it.

I think himself and Grace are the worst offenders for the misleading ' I love this so much I contacted the company and asked them for a discount code for all of you. I mean he said this one day after starting on this revive active buzz. I did find it hilarious he had one sachet of the stuff and then later said how he had way too much energy and went for a big run something he said himself he hadn't done in months. He was just over selling the product at that stage.

I do love him though and his PR skills are highly commendable, he's sparked back up my interest in that area and I know he reads this thread so although you may not always be transparent James you're gas

Grace not #ad on all other Lidl snaps. And she says she's transparent.

    What's the difference between #sp and #ad?

They are basically the same things I think..... sponsored / ad.

Some bloggers use sp as its less obvious.
