Im pretty sure the loser section means:
You have six 1st Round games
Winners go into Pot A, six teams.
Losers go into Pot B, six teams.
Each team now will get three games in there respected Pot.
So each team gets three matches.
The top two in Pot A and B advance to the semi finals.
    Pot A = Winners Group
    Pot B = Loser's Group
However there is going to be 6 teams in each group but each team only gets three matches.
    Horrible idea for a championship!

so whats the advantage of winning the 1st round game ???? would it not be better to lose the 1st round and go through the losers group to the semi finals ???

    Well first round is
    Ballinacourty vs Rathgormack
    The Nire vs Clashmore
    Portlaw vs Ballinameala
    Stradbally vs Ardmore
    Killrossanty vs Gaultier
    An Rinn vs Brickey Rangers

Sort of balanced and youll get decent divide of teams in both groups id say it would go:
Winners Group: Ballinacourty, The Nire, Ballinameala, Stradbally. Killrossanty, An Rinn
Loser's Group: Rathgormack, Clashmore, Portlaw, Ardmore, Gaultier, Brickey Rangers

Each team in each group will get three games: (Cant play same team twice)
Top 2 per group advance to the semi finals.
I dont think anyone would like to play anyone really bar Portlaw and Ballinameala.

I don't mean even the slightest bit of offense here, but that is definitely not how its going to work.

The new football championship is going to be run along the lines of the Cork championships, with winners going to A side of the draw and losers to the B.

In short you can win your first two games and be in a semi final, or else if you lose either first or second round you'll be playing more matches against other losers until semi final spots are filled.

Thats in short what it is going to be like

You might be right, but it was my understanding that there would be no groups and run off in a championship format, with a backdoor B side of the draw for teams who lose either of their first two games

Each team gets four games, reduced from five. After the first round each team will get three games regardless. It was like a sketch out of d'unbelieveables last night and the email wasnt the clearest either in my opinion.

Stephen Bennett also did well for UL in their win over CIT scoring 1-1. On the losing side, Mikey Kearney got 0-11.

Ian Kenny, Shane Roche, Conor Gleeson, Gavin O'Brien and Tom Devine all involved for UCC which is good to see.

Ross Brown and Jack Fagan (with a goal) involved with IT Carlow in their win over DIT.

WIT went down by a few points to DCU, not sure of line ups but imagine a few more of our lads were involved.

Good to see plenty of representation in so many of the Fitzgibbon teams.

Yea probably the strongest representation we've ever had across the board in Fitzgibbon cup. Waterford lads involved in nearly every game.
2 Bennetts in action for LIT and one for U.L. Will b great craic if they meet later in the competition. Big surprise to see WIT beaten comprehensively by DCU. Although with Patrick Curran tearing it up for DCU maybe it shouldn't be

DJ Foran with 10 points for UCD and Tadgh De Burca got a point.
Peter hogan and Patrick Curran scored for DCU beating WIT

This is how the championship will work: (Winners in brackets) Loosely based on previous years results!

    First Round:
    (Ballinacourty) vs Rathgormack
    (The Nire) vs Clashmore
    Portlaw vs (Ballinameela)
    (Stradbally) vs Ardmore
    (Kilrossanty) vs Gaultier
    (An Rinn) vs Brickey Rangers

Winners go on one side of the draw in Round 2. Losers go on the other side.

    Round 2:
Winners face each after an open draw so for example:
    (Ballinacourty) vs The Nire
    Ballinameela vs (Stradbally)
    (Kilrossanty) vs An Rinn

3 Winners of these games go straight into a semi-final so let's say Ballinacourty, Stradbally and Kilrossanty win, they may go 4-6 months without a championship game.
    Losers go into Round 3.

Losers of opening rounds face each other on the other side for example:
    (Rathgormack) vs Clashmore
    Portlaw vs (Ardmore)
    (Gaultier) vs Brickey Rangers

Winners go into Round 4, losers go to Round 3.

    Round 3
Losers of Round 2 face each other.
    (The Nire) vs Portlaw
    Ballinameela vs (Clashmore)
    (An Rinn) vs Brickeys

Losers go into relegation round robin which in this case will be Portlaw, Ballinameela and Brickeys, one team will be relegated in 2017, 2 in 2018.
    Winners advance to Round 4.

    Round 4
    Rathgormack vs (The Nire)
    Ardmore vs (Clashmore)
    Gaultier vs (An Rinn)

Winners advance to Round 5, losers are eliminated from the championship.

    Round 5
    (The Nire) vs Bye
    (An Rinn) vs Clashmore

Winners advance to ¼ final but as shown, one team will have a bye. One team will be eliminated.

    ¼ Final
    (The Nire) vs An Rinn

    Semi-Finals
    Open Draw
    (Ballinacourty) vs Stradbally
    Kilrossanty vs (The Nire)

    Final
    (The Nire) vs Ballinacourty

Suspended. He got a straight red in the Fitzgibbon semi final last year, so that carried on

In a nutshell they fundraised themselves to go on the piss in Liverpool. Big deal!! There's kids all over the country doing the same thing to buy sets of gear etc. What a load of woffle. They actually collected the money, booked the weekend and shared out what was leftover. Future ministers for finance in the group without a shadow of doubt! Hope the 20 or so that will get the chop next week thought it was worth it!......Thanks for training in the muck and ****,if you don't mind just fundraising for a piss up in Liverpool that we're all going on and thanks for making up the numbers,we'll keep an eye on ye for the rest of the year and we'll be back to to the same to ye next yearðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Interesting also that Phil Fanning has a right pop off Derek McGrath in this week's News and Star over his interview with the the Examiner that was published in last Saturday's edition.
