Trump can't even keep his party under control. Paul Ryan and Lindsey Graham think Trump is wrong about losing the popular vote due to illegal voting.

Easy solution to that, implement voter ID.

Wouldn't want religious based law to take over. Remember vote republican for Jesus!

And whow will pay to distribute IDs to the population?

The Government will have to clearly, if India with a 1.3 Billion population can manage it, the states should be able to do the same.

I actually thought it was a fairly factual and balanced informative article. It doesn't defend Sharia law, but highlights that there are many indifferent interpretations. In my head I actually somewhat equate this with the a la carte Catholism approach that's common in this country.

It has made me want to go read more and learn more.

Can't disagree with that. It's blindingly obvious in fact to us Europeans. But Americans (in general, broad sweeping statement I know) tend to resist any intrusion of the Federal government into their lives.

And there's legitimate reasons why many voters cannot obtain ids. Plenty of courts in the US have found that it is solely to suppress minority voters and those who cannot obtain the required id for legitimate reasons. Plenty to back this up.

They should be able to do lots of things but can't.

As long as it isn't republicans putting it through there is no problem. It is when they do it they have a habit of targeting groups

Sharia law is in many ways no different from canon law. In places like Saudi they rule as if it's an actual law but in most places it's just a set of rules for Muslims to live their lives to. So I don't have a problem with Sharia but I do have problems with people who think that it should replace the law of the state.

Think of it this way. Divorce can be secular and/or religious. A catholic would go to the church for an annulment. A Muslim would go to a sharia council. A Jew would go to a rabbi. All three are following their religious law but when a Muslim does it it's somehow worse than when a catholic does it.

So saying sharia = bad isn't always true. There are times when it is bad and I'm not defending them. Saudi is a fcuking horrific place. But it's not always a bad thing.

Just an excuse imo. The California voting system is open to anyone once you have a drivers licence, and you don't need to be there legally to obtain one.

"I think Teddy's idea scratches the itch, is pretty safe and uncomplicated.
On the picture ID, the one thing I have thought of in that space is that if you show up on Election Day with a drivers license with a picture, attest that you are a citizen, you have a right to vote in Federal elections."

That's what John Podesta himself said.

Until there is voter ID across the board questions will continuously be asked about the validity of votes and rightly so.

Trying to claim that there is something wrong with the vote you won is a ballsy move. If we can't trust the result how can we accept it?

You are twisting my words, I said there should be voter ID. That way there's transparency.

And Trump is saying there has been 3-5 million fraudulent voters. He won by a few 10k in certain states. If there was such rampant voter fraud how do we know that he won legitimately?

When you win a vote it is in your best interest to say that it was fair and above board.

The only way to know is when there is voter ID, are you missing the point?

It's not just the previous election, it's for future elections too.

Then why are you here? You support a man while also not caring about what he says?

You have to decide who was wrong, you or Trump?

What's the point in posting my opinion about voter ID if responses like the above is what I get in return. You are simply unable to contemplate my opinion.

    Everything isn't about point scoring.

    Hey Hank!

Any opinion on gagging the EPA and the Agriculture agency ?

Interested on your take on this.

I'm just agreeing with you. Maybe ask Trump to put a gag order here so it can be a safe space?

I am questioning the validity of the election with 3-5 millions fraudulent votes.

That's unreal. I saw the tweet earlier about atmospheric CO2 levels. And now it's just gone. This is truly incredible. Almost despot level behaviour from Trump.

It's wrong, I knew things like that would happen when it comes to environmental issues. This administration clearly doesn't buy into global warming and is more into quick ways of fixing the economy, he's been saying it in his rallies for a long time. I disagree with it but it doesn't surprise me.

Fixing the Economy means hog tying EPA and Agriculture, Is there not jobs in Agriculture in the US ? or is that all gone now with the advent of oil pipes and car manufacturers .

There's not enough information out there on what's happening, nobody knows if it's indefinite or temporary. All I can say to you is Trump made it well known his views on issues like global warming.
