What would you say it's worth? They are rare beasts so it does have that going for it. Nice engine, car seems to be pretty well maintained judging from the photos. Not sure what "CONFIDENCE POINTED CUSTOMERS" are though. Or the mysterious "EXTREME SPECS" referred to in the ad.

They're rare for a reason. They have a V6 that is as thirsty as a V8, and while they are superbly comfortable cars they don't have the slightest air of class about them that you want or expect in a car like it. My father bought one new in 1999 and it was nearly eighty grand. It cost more than an S class. Brand loyalty eh...

    That car is worth €500.

A Lexus LS would make more sense if you're paying top tax.

Not that much of a dreamer price IMO.

Find me another one a cheaper price?

There were two on donedeal for less than 4k 2 years ago. They were only going to go one way.

Nope not a dreamer..... Very very rare and cool car. :)

Shockingly poor ad but yeah, not much of a dreamer.

It's a rare Ford...there's someone out there to give nine grand for it!

and the way older Fords have been going north in value, I'll be willing to bet come back in a decade and that will start to look "cheap". I can remember and not so long ago when 70's Escorts and later Cosworths were pretty cheap. Look at how low milage Peugeot 205 GTi's are selling for. Along with other of the original "hot hatches". I see yer man also has a Renault 5 Gt Turbo. You couldn't give them away a few years back. Hell the rear engined ones were changing hands at around 15K in the early noughties. His Integra Type R(which looks to be an original Irish example) is "cheap", but that's in this market where insurance is monumental, mostly mental. Double that price in sterling in the UK market wouldn't be that much of a stretch, especially for a non JDM example. Example one. and he has an even more expensive one on the premises.

As an aside I reckon if you had a big shed somewhere and some spare cash, the current "cars of any flair over ten years old are uninsurable" Irish ballsology could turn out to be a good opportunity down the line.

Jasus that teg is priced well. They will be worth big money in years to come. Hands down the best fwd car money can buy.

FYP. :( It's cheap alright and you'd likely get more for parting it out. The only boy racer aftermarket nonsense appears to be the intake. An original can still be found for about a hundred quid(time was they were just dumped). It's a good un, but I suspect it will need work to future proof it. He does mention some paint issues and if it's an Irish car and especially if it's originally a UK car chances are extremely high it'll need both rear arches welded and repainted. Notorious fault in the chassis with these, made much worse and ironically by the wheel arch protectors on the Irish/UK cars(and salted roads).

That the R5 with numerous issues is more expensive says much. The R5 is probably easy to insure as a classic.

And that insurance trouble only fortifies the future value - many of them will be offloaded abroad, broken, tracked & turned into race cars while they can't be kept on the road for reasonable money.

An unmolested one in 10 years time will be like hens teeth with a phone number value.

I'd love a dc2, but it would be stolen from my yard before it even cooled down. <actually there's yet another reason they will be quite valuable.

As an aside that seems to be much more a problem in rural areas? They seem to be "safer" in urban. Well so long as not parked in some high risk locales. Still, with a clifford and anti hijack and a tracker they'd need a tow truck. A new Ford Focus ST would be much easier to nick in standard form. I suppose the small of brain scum will just target certain "magpie" cars more. And more often. The value of parts doesn't help either. Parted out with some patience that R yer man has would get more money than as a whole. I can't think of another market where that would be the case.

2 e36 cabrios, e30 cabrio, mk3 escort, Pajero junior, 2 mk2 golfs, mk2 punto, 90s Corolla, corsa saloon. Not completely worthless - fair play to him for keeping old stuff and not scrapping it (except for the corsa, kill it)

Looking at picture four, it seems God himself lives in the glovebox, maybe that's why it's so expensive.

Four and a half grand now. This guy is mental, one day this (and his Mx3) are up at prices like this, and the next they're down to €1500 and back up to €3/4k
