The other two are still plugging away in "From The Jam", playing The Jam covers and some new material.

Best to have Weller stand behind Rick Buckler, to avoid the flying drumsticks :D

    Enough already, 2016! :(

RIP Rick Parfitt of Status Quo

Will be blasting out some heads-down, no-nonsense boogie tonight :)

IIRC, the Quo made more appearances on TOTP than any other group.

    RIP George Michael

Gutted by that news, the day was going great until then.

RIP George and thanks for all the music.

Only found out today that George donated all the royalties from 'Last Christmas' to Band Aid (both songs were in competition for the Christmas Number One of 1984).

    Fair play, in fairness :)

Fingers crossed we don't lose anyone else this year, it's the anniversary today of Lemmy Kilmister whose sad loss started off a miserable run of deaths. Happy New Year, and lets hope there's a lot less of that coming up in 2017

    Ah, Pop Quiz :)

Who could forget Jarvis Cocker's appearance in 1994 and his heroics in the final round? The geek shall inherit the earth!

Has anybody told Leee John yet that his name is spelt wrong? :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78,722 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

They should have 'Pop Quiz: Duran Duran vs Spandau Ballet - Round 2' :D

They should have 'Pop Quiz: Duran Duran vs Spandau Ballet - Round 2' :D

    That would be class.

Any chance of a few questions tonight Mikey? the shows nearly over.

I've got every question right so far...I should be on this!

After all, I am currently with UB40

Might be better to repeat the original shows after the late night TOTP repeats. It would be a bit of fun.

Although Mike Read would probably charge the BBC a fortune, in the style of Dave Clark. He owns the rights to this show.

    Wham! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

Nevermind the Pop Quiz, How's about a revival of RTE's seminal Music Quiz 'Number One' with team captains Dave Fanning and Joe 'Living in Dalkey on a Tax residence dodge year and nothing else to do' Elliott from Def Leppard?

It had it's moments, even if Louis Walsh appears in this Ep. I'm sure Gerry Ryan was a presenter or Team Captain at one point.

Vince Clarke could walk down most streets and never get noticed, but he has had a huge influence on British Pop. In a good way.

We gave 100 people 100 seconds to name a Shaky Christmas song, not many said Blue Christmas.

Love Marc Almond - sing every song as if it was a Broadway number, sing bigger than the venue :)
