    Free anti virus recommendations?

As long as you're using only Google's play store (not side loading) you don't need one.

Your phone is scanned at random times and as apps are being installed

3rd party AV's only slow your device down and don't really do anything else.

    Hi all,

Have a query with zoomed images in whatsapp when trying to set a profile pic. Same thing happens in snapchat when using a gallery image to send.

I'm on the latest oos and am rooted. My dpi was set at 420 and have managed to finally figure out how to change it in the build.prop to 480 and 400 and no difference.
I installed xposed and tried setting app to use 480 dpi and no change.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

    Gar

    Bump?

Is the camera in HDR mode? I notice on my 3 that it takes about a second longer to focus than non HDR mode.

Does anyone use Mobdro or have any advice on it...?

    https://www.mobdro.com/index

I use it quite a bit to keep up with the sports when I'm travelling, I've never had a problem with it, it works brilliantly but I know some people are reluctant to use it as it doesn't come from the Playstore...

Got my 3T today. For some reason it's not letting me connect to Gmail, it says "Gmail is having trouble with Google play services..."

I've looked it up and others saying to stop Google Play Services via Settings > Apps, but the buttons are greyed out.

    Any ideas?

Edit: just did a factory reset and it's sorted.

I can't get Gmail to work for me either. I keep getting an error for the play music app too although it seems to be working perfectly. I'll try a factory reset and see will that fix it.

Just been in meteor. The prices of some phones are madness.

The OP3 and now the OP3T are great bargains compared to similar speced phones.

Anyone using the OP3 on the Three network - but formerly O2? My APN settings are O2 Ireland, but some stuff is just buggy. For instance, sending Hangouts messages - takes an age (whereas on wifi it's instant). Opening Pokemon Go - just doesn't work if using mobile data, sending picture messages via MMS or Viber -again doesn't work.

I've contacted Three but of course they say the phone is not supported so about as much help as t*ts on a bull.

It's a phone on a business account - which is an ex O2 account - so it's still fully not on the Three platform or something. Found an open.internet APN however and that is now working perfectly - so fingers crossed.

Are any of the accessories worth getting along with the phone? Dash car charger etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,242 ✭✭✭god's toy

Getting micro stutter while moving around the UI and sometimes a huge delay in pulling down the notification shade after updating to 3..2.8

    Just me?

I set the LED light to orange for when charging, when I plug in it goes orange for a second then changes to blue. I set all LED notifications to be any colour but blue to test and it still happens?

Only custom roms can change the LED.

I've just ordered the Dash car charger. The battery life is impressive but I'll keep it in the work van just in case. I find with a phone that has good battery life I forget to charge it:pac:

Really? Even though there's a menu option to change it?

I noticied it always charges blue for dash charging.

Here's a thread for something you could try.

You can change the LED in the menu as you have. I checked the LED while dash charging and have the same as you. I changed it to purple and when dash charging it is purple for a second and then changes to blue. When charging off a generic charger it stays purple so it seems after a second it recognises that its dash charging and overrides your selection.

The link above with instructions for how to access "engineer mode" seems promising but I'm not going to do it for a while. Let us know if you try it please.

Edit: all of my other LED selections seem to work fine.

Anyone got Oneplus 3T who have used Oneplus 3 before?

How do you find the battery life? It seems to be its draining faster on 3T than 3.

I thought with a battery bump (3000 to 3400), it will be better on 3T.

    Anyone else?

Anyone having keyboard issues? E.g. when using swipe texts on stock keyboard, I'm getting all sorts of phantom touches when trying to put in a question mark or hold delete.

Used stock for a little while and didn't notice that. Switched to SwiftKey and find it much more accurate and easier to use. Swipe is great on it.

Beta 9 has been released... which is the 2nd Android N 7.0 release for OP3.

You can also get it here.... http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3/oneplus_3_oxygenos_openbeta_9/ and install via ADB Sideload.

Been using it since yesterday and the bugs from beta 8 have been taken out. Working well so far.

I'll try avoid asking too many questions. But are most people having to factory reset to fix Google related glitches?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 564 ✭✭✭Mr Arrior

Was about to order it but a lot of people seem to be having problems. €500 is a lot of money for that type of stuff.

All good now. I guess it takes couple of days for battery to settle down. Seems fine now so far.

I did one factory reset and it's working perfectly since. I signed in to my Google account during the first install which started it downloading all sorts of crap, second time around I just skipped through everything until it was up and running. I then downloaded the apps I wanted.
